/Later/Possibly New Day(?) I'm not certain, but I think it's just a little later. ;D

Bela's hand had stopped swinging the bottle halfway to the Bakery, and she started to really hate Xeiro... and her heels. Goddamn, staying in has gotten her really out of it when it came to walking. All in all, the place looked pretty deserted and she, quick-minded as always, wondered whether the store would be open or not. Maybe this was where Xeiro would corner her and force some kind of decision to come from her lips. She gulped loudly, one hand hovering over the door handle. ********, with doing this she was getting even closer to Xeiro and his, real or imagined, ultimatum. And hell if her feet weren't feeling cold! Maybe she shouldn't have wore heels. But, as his first note said, she was a stubborn a*****e, just like he was. And she was going through with this! She'd been through worse than this, so why was she sweating bullets? It was the cold, it had to be! What else could it be? And why the hell was her hand starting to shake like that? Last she remembered, she wasn't in line for a sickness like Parkinson's or the lot!

Bela had to stop to breathe, slapping herself across the face in the process. Get a grip, girl! This is Xeiro we're talking about! And then, wham! Another slap. She shook her head quickly, steeling herself for whatever next clue or end line this had. She had to do this, she thought. With that, her hand grabbed the handle and she alked inside. It was warm, but she guessed it was just because she had been outside for too long. Anything but frostbite, please!

Her eyes immediately darted around for some kind of piece of parchment, anything to get over this psychological torture he seemed to think was cute and/or romantic. She'd punch him in the face if it wasn't because he was so damn good looking. Now, on to brighter thoughts as she expected some other kind of cheesy letter that gushed about the man's feelings for her.

//Yesh, new day 8D

Beatrice sat on top of a crate, kicking her feet back and forth against the edge. She heard the door open and straightened her back with the sound. She was partially hidden by the backroom door, so she assumed that was why Bela was looking around like an idiot and not noticing her at all. She hopped down onto the ground and grabbed the envelope from the counter next to her. She then stepped around the door and stopped between the two counters and smiled happily up to Bela. "Hello!" She exclaimed before pulling the envelope from behind her and holding it out for Bela to take. "Xy told me to give you this and to tell you to take some treats if you want." She finished with another big grin and began to swing back and forth on her tiptoes.

The letter inside read ::

Bela,

I hope that Beatrice performed the task I asked of her well. I do apologize that she had to be the one to give you it, but I couldn't trust something like that to Mitsuke and I am busy. This bakery holds memories for me, as I'm sure it does you. I can't even clean the tables without thinking of what happened atop one of them. Nor can I sit and talk to an attractive customer without remembering a certain rude blond stomping in and stealing me away. You make grand impressions, my dearest Bela. I think maybe that's why I've enjoyed keeping you around this long. You leave me with so many outstanding memories. So, take a cookie or a pastry, whatever you want. It's on me. Take your time, the end is near and I want you to cherish every moment of this. I can't guarantee I'll ever want to cut off my huevos again and do something like this for you. Once your done, I want you to go back to Step 1. I love you, Bela. Now come find me.

Bela was startled by the movement, and not to mention that blue hair. Where the ******** did that come from? Kade had blue hair, too, but she assumed he dyed it or something. She never was so close to him as to actually check, or even thought about bothering to do so. She wondered briefly who the girl was, but she quickly remembered that Xeiro had two sisters. One was that drunk b***h, and the other was still a child. And this was a child, so she imagined this was her. But, seriously, blue hair? Bela watched with her hand placed delicately on one of the tables, the table, coincidentally, as she watched Beatrice greet her and hold another of Xeiro's notes toward her.

She was so small! Well, it could be because Bela was a statuesque beauty, heels or not. She was still not taller than Xeiro, though. Oh, she called her brother Xy, how cute! Maybe she should try that. But, then thought better against it. Nothing worse than thinking of your little sister during sex ith a beautiful woman, eh? Gliding her hand lightly along THE table, she went over to Beatrice. The clack of her heels following her every move. She must have looked a bit dense as she sloly reached for the letter. Bela just didn't do kids.

And to answer Beatrice's question, "Does he want to turn me into a whale? All these baked goodies will go straight to my thighs! Just look at how your sister turned out, eh?" She winked, one upping Mitsuke even when she wasn't around. Score! Well, now that that brief sense of victory went right over her head, she didn't know what to do with Beatrice. She just looked at her for an awkward amount of time, and then simply patted the girl on the head, before allowing herself a seat on the nearest chair. She really needed to go out more if she was already this tired and her feet were bothering her this much.

She finally began to read the letter and was glad even her brother gave Mitsuke burns when she wasn't around. Wow, this girl was certifiably hateable if her brother talks crap about her! A smug smile came to her lips as she read, remembering both occasions he refferred to. Her eyes even briefly went over to the seat she had seen him for the first time, and then seconds later to the table she had been touching earlier; where they had a fun make out session to freak Mitsuke out. Ah, fun memories!~

And there was that whole take as many pastries as she wanted offer again, like Beatrice had said earlier. Along with a message to take her time... what did that mean? D8 Oh yes, now her nerves started to really kick in. And there was the I love you, right there, in his bold writing! Holy ********, this was serious! Bela visibly frowned, her mouth falling into an small o of horror. "Beatrice," She said, "Get me a chocolate chip cookie, NOW!" She said with urgency now, something to nibble on, to take the edge off. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, Xeiro LOVES me! ME! Of all people...! And furthermore, did Xeiro really just tell her to trek back all the way to the Beach, again? What did he think she did for a living, urban bushwhacking? It did make sense, with their odd affinity to the place, but why not just skip the second step altogether? Really.

As she briefly waited for Beatrice to get her her cookie, she read the last lines over and over again. Like, as if they offended her. Because, indeed, they did! Did he really think just because he said he loved her she wouldn't clobber him later for making her walk all that? Next time, she'd note that he let her borrow his car, instead. "In fact, bring me a few, this could take a while." She told Beatrice, her eyes still glued to those four written words: I love you, Bela. Were tears prickling at the back of her eyelids? Perhaps they were, Bela would never tell. But, she was holding back a few tears at this belated revelation. It made her throat clamp shut, and she couldn't breathe very well. The words were offensive, but nobody had ever written, or said, them to her before. She hated herself for being so mushy, but was that really her fault?

Beatrice couldn't help but giggle at Bela's joke about Mitsuke. She definitely approved of her brother's girlfriend! She smiled at her with the pat on the head. It was very apparent that Bela had no idea what to do with her. It was pretty funny. She was still standing there, swaying back and forth watching Bela read the letter. She thought it would be rude to run off when she was the grand envelope keeper and all. She was needed in her big brother's scheme and this was kind of fun! Normally, she could even tell what it probably said by the emotions. But, her face and command of cookies didn't at all add up to what she thought she would felt like if someone was doing a scavenger hunt for her! Perhaps older people had a different view on these kinds of things though, something else she'd never understand. She nodded to Bela and scurried to the backroom.

She smiled at the NPC baker and grabbed as many chocolate chip cookies as she could hold, 5 for Bela and 2 for herself. She said a few, but whose to say how much that really was? As she got closer and closer to Bela and saw that her eyes were watering, she began to worry. That wasn't at all how she thought she should look! It was getting worse and worse! What in the world had Xeiro wrote? He must be a really dummy to mess up something as exciting as a scavenger hunt! She grabbed two napkins from the counter, using her shirt to hold the cookies and walked over to the table where Bela was seated. She placed the napkin in front of her and dropped her cookies on top of it and did the same for her own. She then walked back to the counter to grab two mugs and filled them with hot chocolate. Once the mugs were carefully placed at the table with the cookies, she finally got to sit down.

Beatrice took a sip of the hot chocolate to make sure it tasted good and that it was still warm. Both were a yes. She'd hate to upset Bela more with bad hot chocolate! Especially since she was pretty and made jokes about Mitsuke! She needed to keep her around! "Are you okay, Miss Bela?" She began kicking her feet idly in the air in front of the chair while nibbling on her cookie.

Once Beatrice came back with the cookies, Bela lowered her arm to rest on the table lazily. Her hand still gripping the letter, before letting it gently drop onto the table. She was distracted, that was for sure. Had she even noticed Beatrice leave for hot chocolate 'till she came back again into her peripheral vision? Probably, considering she was much too busy using both her hands to nibble on the cookie nervously and staring down at the table. She must have looked something akin to a chipmunk, or something similar. Whatever happened to that intimidating force she was so used to giving off, or the frosty exterior? "Thanks..." Bela thanked her, grabbing her mug and slowly bringing it up to her mouth for a sip. She sighed pleasantly as she did, because that was some pretty damn good hot chocolate. Not better than Alice's homemade ones, perhaps, but that's because she was biased. And also, Alice always found some way to drop some kind of alcohol into any drink.

The drink and the cookies took a bit of the edge off, and she calmed some. And on her second cookie, gave Beatrice two of her pile of three, leaving her with one other than the one she was currently eating. Once she did, that's when she took the opportunity to answer. "Nothing's wrong," Bela said softly, one hand around the mug's handle and the other holding up the cookie. The fingers on the mug would occasionally rub over the smooth surface of it, and it was so warm to the touch, too. "It's just... Xeiro." She started and paused midway through, lowering her head the slightest bit when she let his name slip out.

"He's so confusing and frustrating!" Bela huffed, taking a large bite of her cookie very suddenly. "And also, does he know how much of a bother walking around in heels is? Damn!" She didn't even look at Beatrice for that last part, just shook her head. But, right then, in a bolt of belated lightning, "Wait," She said, realization dawning on her, "Did Xeiro--" She leaned forward conspirationally, "--tell you anything about me, hmm?" She asked, her face looking somewhat cat-like. She leaned forward even further to whisper, "Don't worry, it can be our little secret, okay?" She probed, lifting her elbow up on the table. Her hand jutted out toward Beatrice, her fist closed with her pinky sticking out. "Pinky promise!" She smiled all friendly-like, happy with this development. Because Bela didn't know much about kids, but she could break someone's arm off for information.

Beatrice smiled and continued taking nibbles of her cookie and kicking her legs as she watched Bela. "Oh, your welcome." She smiled happily to her and laid the cookie on the napkin so she could hold the mug delicately with both of her hands. She took a large drink of the scrumptious liquid and placed it back on the table. She just kind of watched Bela for the next few moments. She was overjoyed that she seemed to like the hot chocolate! But, that was quickly washed away by the fact that she seemed to be so sad about something. She glanced down at the few cookies that Bela gave to her, she didn't really want them. But, she didn't want to be rude.

She smiled again and nodded when she told her nothing was wrong. "That's good." She continued swinging her legs idly, not having any idea what else to reply. Then came another three words. "What did he do? I thought this was a good thing!" She was honestly a little worried! He seemed so happy about the whole scavenger hunt thing! Confusing? That's how all adults seemed to be. Like right now, for instance! Beatrice was extremely confused and honestly didn't know how to respond to that. Most of what Xy said made a lot of sense to her!

Beatrice couldn't resist the giggle that came when Bela said damn! That was a bad word and she had heard it. That meant it was funny! She soon stopped though when Bela said wait and looked up at her. "Hmm?" She finished the last bit of her cookie and looked down at the table. She wasn't sure if it was okay to tell Bela everything that Xeiro had said about her. Little secret didn't sound too overly appealing, but pinky promise definitely did! She instantly perked up and leaned forward, pressing her own pinky and curling it around Bela's. "Pinky promise!" She then leaned back in her chair after a nod, took a sip, then crossed her hands atop the table. She saw this on TV a lot. That meant she was getting serious.

With one last nod, Beatrice began to spill her guts. "A lot has been said about you over this entire year, Miss Bela." She smiled at her, "Xy came home from the White Day thing that he had been complaining about and was so happy about the way it turned out! He told me all about how much fun he had with the nice girl he met. He didn't really tell me much about you specifically, though." She paused to take another small bite and see what she had thought so far. "He would always come home with a big smile everytime he went out with you! He told me about the movie he went to saw with you! He even said you were so fun and played superhero with him~!" She finished another cookie and continued kicking her feet. "Oo, and just this morning he said 'and remember, her name is Miss Bela, she has pretty yellow hair, beautiful blue eyes, and will be wearing heels' So, I instantly knew it was you, Miss Bela! I hope that answers? That's all I really remember him ever saying..." She tapped her finger against her chin, trying to think about any other instances where she came up.

Bela was glad she had left the things she had in her hand back on the table, because just the first few words out of the little girl's mouth surprised her so much that it caused her jaw to fall open the slightest bit. She didn't know too much about Xeiro personally, but he definitely didn't seem the type to gush about a date. He was just full of surprises, wasn't he? She shouldn't worry too much about what he had said about her, not with a 7 year old smiling at her like that. Was she really that great? Well, damn, of course she was! That had all been before her run-in with Carlo, she shivered slightly at the thought and pushed it away, so of course she would be good. No, not good, great. This would be a good ego-booster and pick me up, it seemed. This whole day, aside from the walking and the whole 'I love you', had been really needed. She had to get some fresh air and out of that room, which had been a HUGE mess when she got back, and still is.

She's been living among the filth, because of one Connor Alvey, though she didn't know about it, and she was not motivated enough to clean it. And honestly, she didn't know how she felt about cleaning it up. Usually, she paid an NPC kid to help clean or would offer a man a BJ to do hard work for her, just to slam the door in his face, citing how much his wife, if he had one, would like to know what he was up to when he was out and about. Most women on the Island were already jaded about her, and probably suspected their husbands to have slept with her already. It was VERY possible, especially with Kade's business being the only Hair Salon, making it so all the women had to go there. And everyone knew how the gossip swirled around that place! And really, when your name was Bela James, or your initials were, appropriately, BJ, you were a cause for gossip and hatred. And if you were pretty, worse.

Bela giggled at the thought of Xeiro complaining about her no show at White Day, so much for not being bothered by not showing up when she should have. If only he knew she had been having sex with her male counterpart on the Island, Vladimir Tepes. Poor Vlad, her mind registered, but she quickly tried to thrust that to the back of her mind, too. She didn't want to think about that, at all. It didn't happen! Anything but think about it. 'Cause then she'd really ruin Xeiro's whole scheme, just to run back to her room, like a cowardly slob. She really needed to clean that up, for sure. Sometime later this week, if she felt like it.

But, then she started to wonder how much Xeiro had told Beatrice. Not about the sex, right? No, he wasn't that indiscreet. And as Beatrice went on her little tirade, she felt a little more relieved. "Oh yeah, I remember that!" Bela pointed out the time they played 'superhero', because Captain Big Daddy was, by far, her favorite of his incarnations up until now. And leaned forward to rest her chin in the palm of her left hand, which had been propped up on the table by her elbow. She was smiling so genuinely now at the rush of all those memories. Some more vivid than others. "Oh, really, he said that?" She asked kindly about the most recent word exchange between the siblings, because she really couldn't be mean to this little girl or be upset after everything that was said and done. She was soo sweet! But wait a second, how did he know she was going to be wearing heels? Reverse psychology? Did he even know how to use that? No, wait, he just knew how stubborn she was. Of course, what else would it be?

She polished off her second cookie then, but decided to leave it at that. No more sweets for her, because she'd been eating enough sweets with no excercise these days. She was glad her metabolism was fast enough to keep that down for now, but it'd come back to bite her in the a** sooner or later. Did Xeiro like chunky girls? No, nope, probably not. Maybe all this walking will help, eh? Beatrice seemed like she might know more, but Bela didn't really mind anymore, she'd heard enough. She sat back, sitting straight in her chair, the arm she had been using for support going to her lap alongside the other. "You think I should go talk to him now, don't you?" Bela asked, wanting a second opinion. Bela was, by all means, worried about what came with that last step. She was insecure right now, but who wouldn't be? Her eyes glided over toward the note again, to the love note. She never expected some day like this to come, she always figured she'd be some gold digger or she'd be somebody's 'other woman', but never somebody's love. Her foot started to tap on the floor really quickly, tap, tap, tap, tap, showing how nervous and anxious about all this she was.

Beatrice couldn't hold in the giggle that came out when Bela's jaw dropped. Did Xeiro put on some big and strong man image when he had his little girly around? That was so cute! She instantly thought of how much she would tease her big brother, hopefully even tonight! It was rather rare that she got any dirt on her brother, well besides whatever Mitsuke told her from when she was a young girl! Back when they actually had each other to spend time with... But, now wasn't the time to think about how awful of a maternal figure Mitsuke was. Now was the time for keeping Bela at the bakery as long as she could. She nodded when Bela asked about Xeiro really saying that. Did she honestly expect her to lie about something like that? She'd never lie to the nicest girl she could remember her brother having around! That wouldn't add to the scheme of things at all!

It seemed that her work was being done for her, something she had said put Bela into some sort of deep thought. She kind of sat there in silence, nibbling on her cookie and letting the woman figure out whatever she needed to in her head. She smiled at the cookies that Bela had pushed her way and took one into her hand. "Thanks." She was sure to be polite, hoping that she hadn't met her sister yet and that the only image Bela would have of the rest of the family was a perfect little polite picture! She had finished off yet another cookie and was drinking her cocoa when Bela began to fix her arms.

Beatrice sat up straight in the chair and turned to glance at the clock when she was addressed. No, no, no. She couldn't leave just yet, there was no way he would be ready! She was never good under pressure, so she knew that this would start going badly. "Erm, uh. Wouldn't you like to try some pastries? Or bagels, if you'd rather not have so sweet. But, if pastries aren't sweet enough we have some Big O~!" She smiled widely at her and laced her fingers back together, ready to jump up and get whatever Bela wanted. "I think you need to wait a little longer anyway, make him think you're not even showing up. Gotta keep a man on his toes, least that's what Mitsuke says. But, I guess I really shouldn't listen to her about romance since she's always alone, right?" Yes, great job, Beatrice! She wanted more than anything to pat herself on the back at this point. All of her ramblings should lead to more talking. Bela was a pretty girl, maybe she had some advice about men to impart! Or hopefully she wanted some Big O cake. That was Beatrice's favorite!

Bela found it really hard not to furrow her brow just the slightest bit when the girl gave such an abrupt subject change. Honestly, what was that? She would have understood it in any other context, but Beatrice knew what was up. And furthermore, why did she keep shoving idea of pastries down her throat? "No, that's okay, I've eaten enough sweets lately. And I really don't think Xeiro, or the entire string of males on this island, will like it very much if I eat any more sweets," She went on with a raised eyebrow, "Don't you think, Beatrice?" Bela tilted her head to the side, giving the younger girl one of those 'cut the crap' look.

"And, furthermore, why would you listen to anything that your sister says about men, when she's alone all the time?" Bela asked, a small smile to hold in a laugh. Mitsuke never got any, it seemed. Hah! Bela gave no outer indications as to how and when she'd use this information, but it was ohh so sweet to have something else to break another person's spirit whether that person ever tried to step over Bela. Fact of the matter was, Xeiro had probably told Mitsuke about Bela's... incident. He wasn't gonna tell Beatrice, now, would he? Ahh, sarcasm. Anyway, back to Mitsuke, she could use that information against her, Bela.

However, she did have to note, "I do agree about keeping boys on their toes, though. It makes them go cuh-ray-zy. Boys have very short attention spans, so, as part of the fairer sex, we have to keep things interesting. So do they, too, you know? But," Here she raised a finger, "The trick is to make them think like you don't need them, but also enough to let them be lulled into a sense of security around you. It makes them work twice as hard to keep you sticking around. See how that works? And take this from me, I actually am with somebody!" Bela smiled and winked, feeling good about imparting some of her wisdom to an actual eager listener. That felt good, actually. And also, take that, Mitsuke!

Funny thing was, Beatrice was actually helping ease Bela's mind off of the fact that the little girl's brother intended to do... something. Something big, it seemed.

Xeiro was whistling a happy tune in the backroom, his hands working as quick as ever molding cookies into perfect lumps. He looked over his shoulder to be sure the bread was doing fine in the oven and continued his song. He placed the pan of cookies into the oven with one hand and pulled the bread out with his other. A few more whistles later and he was out into the lobby placing the loaves into the display case. He looked out across the room, it was so much more quiet without Mitsuke around. He loved it. Now, it was time to sit and wait for a customer or the cookies to be done, whichever came first.

As the Talna said, the group had made there way to the local bakery. Alt let the woman lead the pact as he scanned the parts of town that were still unfamiliar to him. When they reached the store though, the boy had realized he recognized the building. Though he kept his mouth shut as to not alert the woman he had been here before. It was just a quick stop the first time after all. Kotone had made him pay for a treat for her when she showed him around town. It would probably be nice to enter the store under a less obligated pretense though. He never got to see if the windows there were good for sky watching either. All in all, Alt was pretty excited to reenter the store. He mostly hoped to be able to find a good view. However, getting a snack didn't sound to bad either. Hopefully they had strawberry shortcake, or those custard filled Italian things... He could never remember the name of those.

Behind Alastair was of course little Erika. She had still not let go of her second cousin's pants and made sure to stay out of sight of a lot of people. Although she still had a little bit of tolerance to Talna now, she still couldn't handle the random people wandering the streets. And when they reached the shop, she became nervous of all the people there. It was hard to get her to go to a restaurant, and if she did go she would have to sit between two people she trusted. She absolutely couldn't stand being brushed up against by people trying to make there way here and there. And just these thoughts kept her even more attached to Alt.

Ah, the smell of pastries, the warmth of an oven, and the knowledge that the man running the bakery was already bested by her so she could save so much money befriending people by simply making it herself with things she gathered and found on her own free time! Talna had arrived with Alastair and Erika, her dog, Nabo, trailing warily behind as they came to the store doors. He couldn't go in there! ..Oh, on the contrary! She picked him up to upgrade him from 'animal' status to 'held item', so, officially, she wasn't breaking any rules by keeping him in her arms like he was. Lucky the beagle that he wasn't any bigger than one of her own children! She stroked the dog as she walked in with Alastair, turning to look at the two as they surely were taking in the interior of this totally new and not already seen before building. “As ya can see, this here is the bakery where ya'll can get yer regular goods until ya'll can cook 'em on yer own. The –

She stopped and clamped her mouth shut as something struck her – not literally, goodness, no, but.. some odd tingle in the back of her mind.. A.. parental.. tickle.. She frowned slightly as she scanned the various people inside the bakery, one such Rick woman catching her eye. Avikna! That new girl! Oh, perfect! “Why don't ya'll meet them employees. Like this here miss.” Talna nudged him slightly and motioned over to Avikna – before heading over to the counter to the girl, “Well, hiya! Ya workin' 'ere, miss? Why don't ya help Alastair an' Erika out, mm?” Oh, Talna, such a genius! She had learned never to refuse her Goddess-given instincts with couples, so, of course, she had to find a way to shove them together – one way or another!

Unlike his cousin, Alt was quite flexible with what other people told him to do. Well he didn't know that Talna was trying to introduce him to a girl. Didn't matter to him either way though. In that regard he was the same as his cousin. He really wasn't looking for a relationship. Not that he knew how to actually be in one either. However, that was besides the point. As he walked up to counter he made sure that Erika was keeping up. Not that he needed to since he knew she was hanging onto his pants like it was life or death. And right after Talna spoke, he put his hand up as if he were going to wave but without the motion. And with that gesture he let out a small "Yo." He didn't really feel like it was his turn to talk yet. So he decided to wait for the women to talk first.

She'd grown tired of waiting... for the few seconds she'd waited, and instead went behind the counter, looking around at all the things, she'd most likely be making in the next coming years. Well, she hoped it be years. The thick accent of a southern voice rang over the noise of people talking. She turned to see Talna. Had they met before? No, that wasn't possible... wait, no, maybe it was? Oh, that memory of hers. Regardless, she turned seeing that boy again. The little girl who'd been trying to hide form the public veiw, still clinging to him. Could they be related? She hoped so, the girl looked much to young to be in a relationship with him. Then again... she wasn't one to judge.

Taking her eye of the boy after he'd gave his less then enthusiastic greeting, she raised her own hand, and waved it side to side gently, for only a few seconds. "Well, I am suppose to start working here." She replied to Talna's earlier question. Alastair... An English name, and Emily... Scandinavian? Regardless, this Alastair surely stuck out from others she'd seen. "I'll help eitherway. My name is Avikna by the way. You may call me whatever." She continued, going around the counter to stand before them, without something stuck in between. "How may I assist you?" She was technically new herself. However, anything pastery she knew. From crosants to turn-overs and from cupcakes to regular cakes. The subject of romance was an iffy one. She'd had a boyfriend in the cooking school she'd attended, but... it hadn't lasted more then a few weeks. She wasn't the show effection type... Her slighty shy disposition made it hard for people to get close to her. She doesn't like to pry into other lives either... this leads to boring conversations in the end.
