Silas waited as he watched Lucas become particles. Silas sighed for he was becoming very irritated with the Miyamoto's ability to become tiny little particles that did nothing! Silas had kept his seal going to keep most of Ganchou in the shadow pool but what else would need to be done if they were to win? Silas breathed in and breathed out... nothing could be done except hold Ganchou until Lucas was done.

//Hrm. I'll say 65-70% of me is trapped in the shadow pool, does that work? >_> we've been debating this...//

As the rest of the particles moved to cover most of Silas's face, though leaving slots for him to breath, the particles trapped in the ground struggled against their shadowy bonds. Realizing something, they stopped struggling, and instead sunk with the pull, eventually ending up on the rock below the sand. Shifting about on the floor of the desert, it would be a while before they would be able to reemerge from the desert deeps.

((darn. having that many stuck in the shadow messes up my plan. grrrr. thanks a lot for trying to capture most of him in the shadow. a little woulda been good but oh well. gotta reformulate my plan.))
Lucas wasn't sure what to do right now. gan had covered silas' face and he needed to get him off somehow.
"silas. anything you can do to get him off you would be a good idea."
his particles generated the words while floating just above the surface of the sand.
one of the two wind clones left to go talk to teh kazekage.

~Amaya~

"Ahrrm..." Came the quiet cough. I was trying to draw their attention, but it seemed as though they were a little preoccupied. Feeling around, I sensed Lucas distributed among the waves, as well as Ganchou trapped in the shadows of an odd fellow. Perhaps a Nara user? No matter. "Aheerrhhrrrmmm" I said, trying again. "Uhm... the backup you requested is here..." I rossed a few senbons into the sand, each with a bell on the end. "You can release him now..."

~Ganchou~
The moment the Miyamoto entered the area, the particles on Silas's face leaped off and sped towards her instead. An inhuman roar of rage could be heard as they approached.

from below the particles as they traveled towards Amaya they flew over two explosive tags which would be set off as the particles passed over them.
"amaya wonderful timing. and you expected this i know it. did you think pranking me would be fun?"
he said as he watched not being able to do much at the moment.

Silas couldn't help but be in awe at the beauty of the woman who just arrived. Silas' shadow dispersed and Silas started to perform a number of hand seals before he stopped and decided, *I should go back to Mamorou!* Silas sped off towards the Kazekage!

"Thank you~!" I called out, ignoring the speeding Ganchou particles and Lucas. I playfully skipped around until the rest of Ganchou caught up with his main body and started chasing me once more, then led him near the senbon. "Suzu no Oto~" I called out, activating the Jutsu. Because both Ganchou and Lucas were assimilated with metal, the jutsu would reverberate through them even stronger than normally, doubling the effects. The particles of Ganchou gave a screaming sound as they dropped to the sand, jittering and uncontrollable. Calmly, I walked over and scooped them up into one of my containers, then released the jutsu. Turning back to Lucas, shaking the container playfully, I said "Expect this? Not at all. I only expected him to be in the first stage, you know, be a little drunk, have a little fun, etc. The only way he hits this stage is if he drinks constantly. I just arrived, how was I to know the Red Desert Cacti had alcohol in their juice? Anyways, I'm sorry for the trouble he caused you. Shall we head back? I'm sure Father will want a report on the incident, as well as learning your progress." Turning to the other, ignored Gennin and the fallen ANBU, I sighed. "And who would you be, dear? I'm sorry if Ganchou-chan scared you!"

lucas felt the vibrations and knew to return to normal so that the effects would be reduced. he sat down and just sighed at Amaya. she seemed off from her usual self.
"most red deserts have alcoholic cacti. that's why i loved this place so much. i'm surprised you didn't know or even suspect it. you're losing your touch..."
then seeing silas' reaction he smirked.
"not that you haven't lost that touch."
he said motioning to the retreating genin.

"Ho?" I said, looking a bit puzzled. Then I remembered, and gave a grin, even though both of us couldn't see it. Laughing, I said "Sometimes I forget about that, it's hard to remember when I don't remove my blindfold. Anyways, I'm not loosing my touch. The last dimension didn't have any Red Deserts in them, so I didn't have any previous knowledge about those Cacti." Sitting down next to him, I gave a small sigh and added "It's nice to see you though. It's been a long time. How's Uncle doing?" Meanwhile, the container full of Ganchou rumbled and shook, but did not open or break.

lucas just smiled and relaxed. this would be obvious.
"uncle is fine. he's still stressing that back of his to much though. he just doesn't listen. then again. i think it might be a familly thing."
he said tilting his head comicly to one side.
"the girl i think may have fainted. should we take her back to the village?"
he said nodding in Nat's direction.
((she wont be on tonight and i dont think she'd mind us moving her back to the village.))

"Alrighty. You carry the ANBU, I've got the girl!" Walking over, I gently collected the girl, then left on my way, bobbing and weaving towards the village.

"Alright!" Bast called out as soon as her distance from the Village was large enough that it would not be jeopardized in any way by her plans. She slapped one hand against the other in a manner that suggested a hidden objective. Soon enough, a large shadow appeared; whether or not it came from the land or the sky was uncertain, but it loomed nonetheless.

The creature was the animated land stolen from the Earth Country, the colossus that had made the countryside its home in some capacity while waiting for orders. Bast held out a hand and pulled a rod of metal from the colossus's toe, and then ordered it to shield her immediate surroundings from the wind; the creature responded by laying on the ground.

Within moments, a summoning seal had been completed and the full set of Bast's creations stood before her; that is, as soon as Mononoke joined their ranks.

"With this," she stated. "I begin the first joint meeting of Kybele!"

The Princess sighed. Maimakterion began to draw a diagram of the human body in the sand. Kanpai looked curiously at the Hoatzin group, and sniffed them.

"Well?" Bast asked, pulling out her notebook and a pen. "If you can't come up with anything, let's talk about your base of operations. What do you want?"

Almost simultaneously, a unanimous consensus was given: "A city." Bast marked this down and quizzed each of her creations as to what it would like. The last in line was Poryo, which said that it would like a large aqueduct through which it could traverse the city. Maimakterion's wishes, though, also contained another thought, which he voiced later:

"Our bodies cannot handle the Chakra that you have given us efficiently," the boy said, indicating his diagram. "There are parts of our bodies that do not require as much Chakra as others, such as the points that would equate on the humanoids to the neck, thighs, buttocks, and stomach. These parts are largely useless in a fight, and would only need to contain enough energy to reinforce them against attack."

The boy drew circles around various parts of the body on the drawing in the sand and gave them strange labels before continuing.

"Chakra would then need to be placed in areas that receive more usage, such as the legs, arms, all the joints, and particularly the hands and feet; this is where the overlap occurs with the structure of the human body. However, unlike the human body, I do not believe that we should have large-scale energy sinks like the human digestive tract and the internal organs. Such points would be crucial to our survival at that point, and their loss would ensure our destruction," Maimakterion explained, continuing to add to his drawing. "Now, I believe that the channels for Chakra that are present in your body are well-trained, and we are all familiar with them, so I will use them as an example. The channels themselves, according to medical text, would wind around the major internal organs in order to feed them power, similar in ways to the distribution of blood through the respiratory system. Tenketsu are the bridges between the rest of the body and the Chakra circulatory system, and they allow the body to use that energy to perform its functions. Golems, as a matter of principle, do not possess the abilities necessary to create or circulate Chakra alone, nor do they need the Tenketsu; for these reasons, they cannot use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu with any sort of proficiency, nor can they use some Taijutsu. However, I believe that if there were a way to replicate the pools of Chakra in humans, there may be a way to program a golem to use a Jutsu as a trap mechanism."

Bast nodded at the boy, her pen still moving in the gap period between Maimakterion's speech. The Princess and Mononoke had started up a tournament of "Rock-Paper-Scissors" to pass the time while Maimakterion, as the Princess put it, "prattled on like an old man".

"I had already considered that possibility, but you have expanded upon it much farther than I could have. I will have to brush up on my medical knowledge," she responded calmly, her mind at work with the ideas presented to it. "I see a hole in your theory, though: where would elemental Chakra come from if you were not fed specifically that?"

"Simply put, the Chakra that you have given us allows us to access easily not only Maruton, but also Fuuton and Doton because of the balance inherent in your body. Whenever you gave us Chakra, you did not distinguish between Elemental and the so-called 'Non-Elemental' energy in you, so we have both of those within easy access. Other elements, though, are a bit more difficult: while all humans do have traces of all elements, even with the large amount of Chakra in us, it is not feasible for us to be able to pull out the amount of, say, Katon Chakra that would be needed to create more than a slight change in temperature in an area the size of a fingernail. That being the case, we would have to receive supplements from other sources so that we might learn to recognize other elements," Maimakterion explained. "I know what you're thinking, and the answer is 'No'. The only way that you would be able to get anything from us, at this point, were if we used Korabo Ninjutsu. We have your Chakra, though, so it would be like using a clone to do the same."

Bast nodded and, sensing an end to the 'festivities', snapped her book shut. One of the Hoatzins was celebrating a victory in the tournament, and was upbeat even after the group was dismissed.

Alone, Bast put up the hood of her cloak and looked out at the horizon. She took a drink from her flask and laid down in the sand, intending to enjoy the faint shade cast by the desert clouds overhead. After a few minutes, she raised a hand to her face and peered at it. Even through her nearly-opaque goggles, she could tell it was just as snowy white as it had been upon her arrival in the Sand several decades before. She let her hand fall after a moment and began to doze.
