Desmond shrugged. "A little bit. It just takes a lot of energy to use some of my abilities." he said, sitting down next to her. "I'm sure I can stay awake for a while longer."

Desmond smiled as she leaned against him. "Sunsets are prettiest when they reflect off water." he said,not really meaning to say anything, he just did.

Desmond sighed contentedly, watching the sun sink to the horizon. "Today was a good day." he said calmly. The fact that darkness came after sunset slipped his mind. Darkness makes shadow people more shadow-like... usually.

Desmond was pretty relaxed, which was an odd thing since he was usually on guard and trying to focus, not very well, but a little bit.((I've been foreshadowing lately.))

Desmond couldn't feel the shadows creeping up his fingers. As you may know, shadows are very very sneaky. By the time he noticed last time, the shadow was at his mouth, not allowing him to speak at all... last time. After a few seconds, it had reached his shoulder, and started to reach up the side of his neck.

It took him a minute to figure out what she was talking about. "Run." he said quickly. "Just run." he couldn't very well move when the shadows had his legs and one of his arms.

Desmond watched as she ran away, he had been pushing the shadow back until she was out of sight. As soon as she was gone, the shadow climbed up to his face, soon engulfing him completely. The shadow beast ran on all fours, he moved at least twice as fast as a regular person.
