The bite drew blood, and Haew calmed down. He moved like a wraith, speed unlike that of a normal human as he avoided the clumsy swipes of the beast. His hand became a blur as he drew his weapon, delivering a slice across the things upper chest, the sword back in its sheath in a blink, as if it had never moved. "Avoid opening it's stomach, usually when breath is fetid the origin lies there."

The blood that spilled from the monster was spectacular, in all sorts of colors that gleamed like a rainbow. It was very distracting, especially to Suzy, who barely noted in time a pair of gnashing teeth headed straight for her head. Instead of beheading her right there, the beast only came away with hair - it smarted, but it wasn't even so painful as the tail had been. Suzy resolved to be more vigilant.
Eli, after the shock of having his arm mangled by the claws, was not eager to be up front again. He had pressed himself against the wall, aimed his pistol with the one good hand he had left, and shot - square into the eye of the beast, creating another rainbow flood. The beast growled, but was not clearly fazed by this assault.

The Betrayer stood before the monster, his staff charged and ready to go. Romulus held out his arm and three fiery miniature stars began to circle around it. With a flick of his wrist, the three superheated nuclear fireballs blasted the creature, leaving smoking holes in it. The automaton then fell back, narrowly avoiding the creature's claws.

Emma cast a worried glance towards Remus and Galia, but was too preoccupied with feeding her spell to heal either. Hopefully, they would last until the beast was done with. The flames that still licked the creature's hide were fanned ever higher, mixing with the many-hued blood and using the holes made by others to dart underneath the skin.
The sorcerer's fires broke off from Emma's, aiming for the eyes and searing them into nothingness.

Red lightning ran up Rom's arms and formed three more of the stars. Romulus unleashed them again, the bright balls burning into the flesh of the monster. The Betrayer took some delight in knowing that all Remus could do was watch and feel useless.

Haew stepped back and examined the corpse of the monster, before lopping off a hand, slowly slicing the flesh off until he got down to the bone. "Bah, knucklebones are all wrong" he muttered, taking a finger bone and placing it in a small bag, leaving the rest of the corpse intact.

Emma lifted her skirts out of the rapidly pooling blood on the stone floor, wrinkling her nose in distaste. "Well. Where to?" Rainbow hues were beginning to dry on the hem of her garment, but was sloughed off with a spell.
She knelt beside Galia, checking for a pulse. There was nothing she could do for Remus.

Remus was about to crawl for his lost parts when he found himself at Romulus' feet. Remus looked up, expecting to hear some smug comment. Instead, Romulus dumped the Imperator's parts in heap.
"Put yourself back together."
"Since when do you care about my well being, Betrayer?"
"I don't. I'm just doing this so you don't slow us down." Rom replied and turned to go check on Suzy.
Remus glared for a moment, before he began to reattach his parts, one by one.

Haew withdrew a bottle from a pocket, filling it with the multicolored blood. He then stood, looking at the door the monster was at, and then the way they came. "We can either assume the monster was guarding something, or head back and try our luck at the double doors."

In a few moments, the monstrosity changed. The 'blood' that Haew had pocketed turned to multicolored rags; the 'knucklebone', a ring in the shape of a talon. The menacing beast had turned to a pile of clothing, and Suzy, for one, thought she could spy hers peeking out from the mass.
"Son of a -" she breathed, cutting herself short. The bruise across her chest - it was hard to believe it had come from a pile of fabric. She had to blink a few times - just to be sure she wasn't just hallucinating. Not that blinking would have done anything if she were.
Frida, who had sat the fight out, now busied herself with healing. Remus was in the worst condition, but she had no doubt that he could either fix himself or wait; she wouldn't know what to do with an automaton anyway. The most severely injured, after him, was Gaila; her entire torso was split open. A pair of soothing hands touched her chest and healed.
