Jin Taega

PostPosted: Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:28 pm

Jin's eyes instantly darkened at the shinobi's words. "Three left you say?" Rolling each shoulder after the other, the sound of his joints popping was easily heard as Jin raised his spear into a combat ready position. The charging sound of electricity flowing through a mechanism began to sound out of Jin's guard and the air around the two quickly became dense with static electricity. Taking in a deep breath, Jin took a step foreword and then stopped as he spun the spear around quickly and returned it to it's sling. "You're a ******** moron." Jin said simply as he turned away from the shinobi and walked away, his eye carefully looking behind him to see if the shinobi was going to attempt an attack on his back.

With a growl, Jin turned around again and gnashed his teeth at the person. "Just how stupid are you? Really?" The electricity had died away from the surrounding area quickly but the tension was still growing as Jin stopped hiding in his utter distaste for the new person. He reminded him of his kage and his stupid ******** brother. "Just a few things I have to tell you. One, why all the round about? Answer the question, why are you helping me. Two, how stupid are you? If you know where the boxes are, you obviously hinting that you got one and their are very few left, why tell me... Someone that you do not know. It's like you are begging me to kill you and pass on with your box." Shaking his head, Jin turned away and started walking down the path. Only adding on to call over his shoulder, "You're lucky this is just a test, in the exams such stupidity would cause you to be killed. Either you're really strong or really stupid. Want to help me, answer my question and we'll work from there."

Sora's bugs reached Jin in a matter of secconds, four of them circling him for a moment before landing on the ground and sending two back to Sora to report Jin's location. As the scouts returned to him Sora took off in the direction that Jin was in, ignoring the fact that there were other people at the center of the maze already, he had to make sure that Jin made it out ok, because if he didnt then he was going to have to go through these exams alone, something that he was not looking forward to, having an ally would prove to be vital if he was going to pass with the flying colors that he so desired.

Sora followed the tracers that his scouts had left him, easily leading him to Jin where he then stopped and spoke, although the puppets mouth did not move he still was audible. "You need to follow me, ive made it to the center already, we need to hurry"

’I shall fight to honor the name of Kaiten, the name of my father…

Erkamina slowly fell into a sleep that wasn't restful but it was sleep at the very least. It was a paranoid drifting sleep that was half present in the maze, half asleep. It was almost enough to allow her to gain some time to just be passed over while others were searching for the boxes, the center goal. And with the fact that there not enough boxes for everyone it was probably best that she remained hidden. The sun slowly set below the maze's walls- making way for the night's purplish-bluish coloration on the walls. The shadow of her 'sleeping' form disappeared into the darkened floor and her form seemed to fade into the darkness- allowing to relax further. She fell into a deep sleep and morning would be the only thing to wake her other than her slight paranoia in half-opening her eyes every once in a while so that she could look around to ensure that she was alone in her little side dead-end off the beaten path. After all, she had the prize already and some didn't. There were only a few left as far as she knew and some may kill to get them.

… Soon I will show the world the worth of that name.’

In answer to Notwen's earlier statement, the uniformed kid began to roll his shoulders, popping his bones audably. Quickly picking up his spear the boy ran at him, generating large amounts of static electricity, which began making the orange-haired boy's hair stand on end.
So he's lightning natured... thought Notwen, activating his sharingan in reflex. The uniformed boy stopped short of Notwen and sheathed his spear.
"You're a ******** moron." he said, turning around and walking away. The uniformed kid turned around, growling and gnashing his teeth at Notwen. "Just how stupid are you? Really? Just a few things I have to tell you. One, why all the round about? Answer the question, why are you helping me. Two, how stupid are you? If you know where the boxes are, you obviously hinting that you got one and their are very few left, why tell me... Someone that you do not know. It's like you are begging me to kill you and pass on with your box."
Wow, this guy has issues, thought Notwen, but he makes sense. he sighed. "I can tell you are strong, and that's why i'm trying to help you. The ones with boxes have a higher chance of moving on, and i would hate to fight weaklings. It's just not fun."
Just then, another individual in a white uniform showed up and spoke to the first one.
"You need to follow me, ive made it to the center already, we need to hurry."
"I know the quickest way." said Notwen, heading back into the maze.

Jin glanced over at the night elf. His head shook slightly in annoyance and his eyes rolled. "When you actually can think up a better answer then that, I'll consider listening to your advice." Jin said. Jin took note of the fact that the night elf's eyes had turned crimson red, the shinobi was an uchiha, a clan known for betrayal and mistrust. Nothing good had ever come of them and that was a fact known throughout the entire shinobi world.

"He wants better competition so he helps the guy doing nothing at the beginning of the maze. Yea, right." Jin muttered to Sora's puppet with a slight snicker. It was an incredible coax. It was a competition, people tend to want to eliminate the best competition not provide help to them so they can have a better challenge. Once again Jin figured it was either a, the guy was trying to lure him into a trap and screw him over. Which at the point he was in, and that being he was no where, that was very unlikely. Or b, he figured that Jin was not actually strong competition, which obviously he was proving not to be, and he wanted to promote weaklings to win and better enhance his own chances.

Jin grunted. For a moment he stared at the walls and the space above. It would have been so easy to simply climb up on top of them and continue to the center but those damn seals. Their was a barrier created by them and now he wouldn't be able to do that. But perhaps if he destroyed the seal. No, that wouldn't work. Would it? It would've been wonderful if Jin could just slash the seals up and make his way on but the chances of that was just to slim. And if what the Night Elf had said was true, then he couldn't waste any more time. Not that he needed or wanted to. He had Sora with him now, and even though he wanted nothing more to knock Sora out and go, Sora was the only person he knew would have his back.

"You said this way right?" Jin asked as he walked in the opposite direction of which Notwen had pointed out.

Sora watched as Jin and the Uchiha exchanged there dialog, was he not aware of how behind he was? The high and mighty Jin was actually out here talking and giving away there position as if it was nothing, and according to his bugs Jin was so easy to find because he had been flashing his chakras around so willy nilly. What the ******** was this guys deal, Sora shook the puppets head before turning and heading off in the direction that he came, following the silk trail that he had left for himself. "Follow" he said from the coffen on the puppets back. This was for sure the right away to go, or at the very least the right direction, if nothing else he was starting to get more and more used to the twist and turns of this place, it would only take him slightly more time to have the entire mazed mapped out by his bugs, at that point he would be able to navigate with ease.

((Rolling for Monster: 190 vs. 150 is 54%

51 is a pass. Monster gets 2 points :3))

Hisaki nodded his head slowly, "Sure buddy. I guess an hour will do, right? I was kind of hoping on shedding some blood though. Nothing major, just a blunt-side hit of my Sword of Oblivion or something. Maybe a good hit to the cankles would have done well. Just so she won't be dashing around when she comes to. I feel like it would have disabled her from round two as well." Hisaki frowned at the twisted body of the kunoichi, "We better hope she doesn't come back to get us..."

Yuki asked Hisaki about his plan to get to the center, So if we head towards that crease, we'll get to the center, and in the center is the boxes with the kanji? Which I assume we need to obtain to pass."

Hisaki nodded, "Sound's about right. That's how I directed myself earlier. Think of it like using a compass. While you have no idea where you're going, the compass always knows which way is North and South. Using those directions, you can lead yourself where you need to go, until you reach somewhere you recognize or something. Well, in this place, we don't need cardinal directions, we need local directions. So that's when I looked to the sky and saw that crease. That thing leads to, what I consider, 'Part 2' of the Labyrinth. Once you're that far, you know you're almost there, see? Look at me, rambling on like that, hehe... Let's get walking ok?" Hisaki took the lead, making sure they stayed on the right path as they walked. His Byakugan came in very handy for making sure that they didn't run into dead ends. As they walked, Yuki seemed to have something that was bothering him, but Hisaki didn't comment on it, well, not until Yuki brought his troubles to light.

"Hisaki, did you run into anyone that was bloodthirsty like this girl? It seemed weird that she would not only attack two other genin, but also attack without hesitation." the self-proclaimed bishop asked. Hisaki shrugged, "Nope. I specifically navigated myself around other ninja so that it didn't happen. I only ran into two ninja, whom I caught off guard, and escaped from effortlessly. I think those were normal ninja though, they weren't strong at all, and they didn't really chase me. Unfortunately, they got me lost for a bit, but what are you going to do, right?" Hisaki took the lead again, and walked in silence, "Yuki, just keep quite for a bit, ok? There might be ninja around, and since you're soooo worried, we wouldn't want to get found.

In truth, Hisaki wanted to multi-task a bit and think a little bit about his time in the underworld again. Hisaki's mind tried to pick up where he was before... It was on his way to the Gate before the Second Circle of Hell, known as Lust.

* * *

Hisaki traveled with the Shinigami in silence up and over hills of various shades of color. With each step, the far off gate seemed to get closer and closer, which in truth it did. Hisaki didn't see alot of 'life' on these plains, much to his surprise. It took a while to even find a path on these rolling hills. The path was long and dusty, with mild overgrowth. It hadn't been used much in years. Nonetheless, Hisaki traveled.

It wasn't until they reached the Gate that Hisaki spoke, "Damnit Shinigami. What is this thing?" The Shinigami looked at him expectantly, and Hisaki sighed, "Well, besides the Second Gate." The Gate was massive. The gateway took the shape of a pair of colossal mahogany doors. The doors were about five stories tall each, and bound together with spiked, black, leather straps. Huge chains of five inch thick steel ran themselves criss crossed over the array. Several more chains held the door down to the ground, pegging it down as if it were some sort of dreaded beast. Upon the array of chains and belts was a massive lock. The lock had eight black stone sides, and a similar obsidian front. The lock was covered in symbols and runes that looked like they were forged in red-hot metal. From below, Hisaki stared at the giant gateway and shrugged, "Were do you get a key like that? I don't suppose there's anyone around to tell me?"

The shinigami looked down at Hisaki from his floating position, "You could try the castle... I'm sure the king knows the way, But usually visitors come with the key. Would you happen to have it Hisaki?" Hisaki looked at the gate, and thought deeply, Do I?

He stepped forward onto the Gate's grounds. As he did, he began to hear screams and roars coming from within the gate. They pierced Hisaki's hearing and shook his body with their might. The genin held his ears tight with cupped hands, and progressed until he was yards from the gateway. He pried his fingers from his ears, and recited an incantation that he thought might just work: "Brillant Key, engulfed in roaring flames; your flickering golden bow rests in my hand. Open the way! First Realm: Gate Opener!"

Hisaki held out his hand, facing his palm towards the keyhole. Usually, a small plume of fire simply shot from Hisaki's hand. While it was handy for melting locks and burning enemies, Hisaki really had never found another use for it. Not until now at least. A jet of crimson light shot from Hisaki's hand and soared up into the lock. All at once, the excess noise ended, giving Hisaki a wave of relief. It was short lived, however, as seconds later, the chains flew off the door madly. It was as if they had been under high tension, because they flew off of the door like whips.

However, the straps still remained on the door. A shining line sliced up the middle of the dual doors, and temporarily seperated the gateway bondage. Again, the screeches and roars of Lust expelled themselves from beyond the gate, along with two fierce talons that flew out from inside the abysmal threshold and took hold of Hisaki's arms. With a violent pull, they dragged Hisaki in without a second's notice.

* * *

Hisaki was swiftly pulled from his flashback as he checked on the crease overhead. Apparently, in his delusion, he'd gotten them safely beneath the crease. Hisaki looked back at Yuki, "Alright then, we're almost there. I'd say we're safe to talk now, if you want."

((I apologize for the lateness of my post. Some black guy that my brothers keep calling over was on my comp stressed ))

Notwen watched the other guy run off in the right direction, but then ended up making a wrong turn. He shook his head.
So much for going in the right direction, thought Notwen, closing his eyes. He sent another chakra wave into the maze, creating a thermal map of the wall structure. Racing after the two white uniformed genin, Notwen caught up to them. "I'm pretty sure where we are. We make a right here."

"hm? well this is a new sight... similar in difference from the rest of the maze as the center... I'll assume this will be a method of getting out..." Hatsuma stated bluntly as she examined the strange wall that she had discovered at the end of the passageway she had chosen to hide and search along. She noted a notch in the wall of similar shape to the tile she retrieved from the box. "well then the prize was the freedom of the twisting paths of this test... there isn't a more fitting prize I could think of for such an ordeal." She commented removing the kanji from within her sash. she adjusted the position of it in her finger and wedged the Kanji into the slot. Almost instantly the wall reacted as a rectangular seam formed around the slot where the kanji was placed. The rectangular slab of stone fell into the floor. Hatsuma examined the entryway into the wall for a moment before stepping over the threshold and into a temporary darkness. the slab shot up violently sealing behind her though she didn't seem shaken. Shortly light came to her violet eyes as a group of shinobi gave her a light round of applause and congratulations before directing her towards the way out so she could await the next portion of the exam. She would take the time to seek out her comrades if they had gotten out yet which was rather likely since she had taken her time in mapping a very large portion of the maze before reaching her goal.

Yuki raised an eyebrow at Hisaki's sudden urge for the two of them to stay quiet. It was illogical because not only did he have the byakugan which allowed him to see anyone before they even hear the two talk, but they were not even talking that loud! The bishop didn't care, his fellow comrade was showing him the way out and how he had traversed this twisted labyrinth, which surprised him almost. He knew Hisaki was smart, but didn't want to use his intelligence to its full potential.

Hisaki seemed to space out as they both seemingly went in the right direction, being lead by the Hyuuga of course. Yuki really didn't get much of a chance to take a good look at his surroundings beforehand, but he now took the time to take them in. The walls looked damp and fuzzy with moss and judging by the ceiling, they were underground. It actually made Yuki shiver a bit, even after fighting off the other girl just a few minutes ago. Not only did he have his doubts about how cozy this maze feels, the odd situation with the girl still irked him. Someone's memory doesn't just disappear like that! If he wasn't able to retrieve it from her mind somewhere, than it must have happened from the outside.

He remembered that, at one point in their relationship, Hisaki showed him his sword that was made to make people forget things when hit with it. Now, if that was possible to create, then must someone have used something similar on the girl? If so, what was the motive? Wiping a memory of what happened after the door opened in the Chuunin Exams seems pointless. Maybe he was just thinking too much into the situation, that was also a possibility. Maybe the girl had a jutsu that by sacrificing some brain power, she'd turn into a berserk kunoichi with some rapid fire and impressive jutsu? It seemed unlikely, every unlikely. Unless she somehow fooled Yuki's Mind Trace, none of his previous theories made sense.

"Alright then, we're almost there. I'd say we're safe to talk now, if you want." Hisaki commented, breaking the Yamanaka out of his insane theories in his mind. "We were able to talk before." He mumbled as he followed the other Genin towards the crease. "Anyways," He spoke up now, "So now that we're closer to the crease, well else did you look out for?" Yuki asked, searching for another local point to help him navigate the stage.

’I shall fight to honor the name of Kaiten, the name of my father…

Erkamina woke some time later, feeling stiff from sleeping on the ground. She looked around to make sure no one was around before slowly sitting up and rolling her shoulders and neck slowly to work out the kinks. Her neck popped with a soft sound at which she looked relieved as the pain left her. "Ugh, hard floor never makes a good bed." She muttered as she slowly lifted herself to a standing position using the wall. She couldn't stay here, even if it was dark, for very long. Probability stated if she stayed too still for too long she would be found so she decided to keep moving, resting for an hour or so in between. The soft light filtering into the area told her just how long she'd slept, the moon was now out and almost directly over-head- lending its glow to the arena. "Midnight, give or take an hour." She thought as she observed the celestial body, trying to figure out what direction she was facing to figure out if the moon was rising or setting. Not that it really mattered, seeing as she still had to find a way out of here and remain hiding at the same time. She walked back towards the path's entrance that she'd walked down before. She trudged down a few paths, not bothering to make her mark because she didn't want to be followed or found at all. It was best, for all those involved, that she remain on mainly side paths and off-shoots. She wasn't particularly willing to battle someone with only a few hours of sleep and a small bar of food in her system. She yawned softly, stretching to keep from falling asleep again. Or at least until she found another dead-end to hide in. But for now she was just moving to keep from being found, staying away from the main paths for now.

… Soon I will show the world the worth of that name.’
