Grinning lightly as she seemed in a rather good mood to see he was actually wearing them, she sat more upright and leaned into the table with her arms still resting on the table top. "Brains and Brawn, no wonder the military liked you." She winked lightly in a gentle tease and nodded her head. There wasn't a hellavuh lot she could have done in the morning after he'd gone back to bed, at least nothing of her usual morning routine.
"Yeah, it wasn't my morning workout but a jog was good enough, plus it had purpose to get you something other than a towel. Do they fit well? I had to Gage on memory instead of actual measurements."
Lords knew how she would have loved to do her brisk mountain run, or many a rounds with a punching bag, but she was sure she'd do a helluva lot of damage to her back than the jog had.

He leaned back in the chair and draped an arm over the back, looking about the rest of the kitchen. He was already sure the conversation she was starting couldn't be all that great when she opened with something that was supposed to be a comment...but for some reason, he just couldn't imagine a compliment coming from her of all people.
"Tight in some places, but I ain't complainin'" he remarked bluntly. If she had based it on actual memory, then there was no way she would have been able to memorize everything about his legs waist or otherwise. Still he had to give her props...she had gotten just about everything else down.
"Took a jog huh?" he tried not to sound concerned, but the fact that she ran to get this clothes just only made him feel worse

"Mnnn, I see." She said, spacing off a moment as she realized it was something she really didn't want to think about. Of course I wouldn't know, and am happy being as naive as I can with yesterday's peep show... Nariko thought and shook her head, realizing she needed to stop making motions for her thoughts as if she was actually talking.
"Uh.....yes, I just said that." Weird, she thought, why did he seem so stuck on the fact that she'd gone out? It wasn't like he'd make her trip any faster if he had come along, nor would it be any kind of good for his leg.
"Anyways, how are you feeling today? Better than yesterday?" She chided in, it didn't seem like a big deal to her, unaware he felt differently.

He sighed lightly to himself at her comment, and only glanced over for a moment when she made sure to catch that he did repeat her. "Yes I know...but...eh.." his eyes darted away. "Feel kinda bad now with the clothes..that and the fact that you ran to get them" he explained. Unfortunately he was the type that though actions spoke louder than words.
"Hurts like hell" he stated, finally feeling comfortable to look her dead in the eye. He didn't know why, but he just seemed more able to focus when he looked at her...yet at the same time...he felt uneasy for doing so. "Your back?"

Folding her ears back lightly, she felt the uneasiness well up between them; realizing he genuinely felt bad for it. As much as she wanted to retort with some pig headed comment about how he should have just agreed to something if he would feel bad....but that wasn't why she did it.
Nor would she get any satisfaction from it anyways.
"Don't, Dutch. I wouldn't be alive to do any running if it wasn't for you; its the least I can do." It was her turn to look away momentarily, expressing a thought which had been eating at her since their first encounter. It might have been against his free will, but she owed him big time.
Looking back to meet his gaze, she nodded her head. "You don't think morphine or anything would help?" It would be worth a shot anyways, he seemed to have quite a bit in that medi pack of his. "Its alright. The suit kept the area pretty firm so it doesn't hurt too bad, but I assume the salt of the sweat might have gotten through the bandaging to sting." No matter though, it was nothing a gentle rinse later wouldn't cure along with a re-bandage.

Sensing her uneasiness was now finally catching up with his, he could only imagine what she was thinking. The comment however did throw him off guard. He looked over with confused shock and only wondered who it was sitting before him. "Leap feet first into hell...something that is always done regardless..." he didn't want to admit he did it just to piss off the creature or otherwise, but he didn't have to stay after he had discovered it's prey, so he figured it was to save her.
"Might..might not." he shrugged. He was very indecisive on what he wanted to say, do or even think today. However his well being was last on his mind aside from the painful throb that took over his entire leg. "That's good..." he nodded, leaning forward and resting his fore arms on the table, momentarily looking over the grain of the wood. Apparently he was easily distracted too

"Isn't that the best way to do anything?" Nariko nodded gently with seriousness in her voice, all the best things were near if not impulsive....despite how she did also enjoy her meticulous planning at times. "Well, do you have any with you, or should I call the doctor to bring time? It would be wise to check it out, maybe it'll give you a bit of relief." His health might have not been on his list, but it was most certainly on hers; as much of a dismay it might have been for him otherwise.
Nariko noticed that he seemed rather....sullen in his demeanor; she wasn't sure if he was just in thought or remaining silent...but it was driving her crazy regardless. Standing up from the table as she could feel that itch to do something, anything rise up in her thin patience. "Mn. Not good enough." Yet the question remained, what was there to do when one had a back injury and the other a leg? It wasn't good odds, she decided. "Ugh....I hate being stuck." She huffed more to herself as she rounded the island and went to grab herself a glass of water. "Want one?"

"Hm..." he mumbled an agreement as it was sometimes the best way to do many things. Impulse was probably the only thing he had these days, but he wasn't apart from sitting back and figuring the things he had gained or loss from said impulse. But just sitting there, he realized his impulse had disappeared suddenly. Almost overnight as earlier he wanted nothing more than kiss Nariko...but he didn't. He blamed the pain in his leg and tiredness.
"I do have some morphine in my pack...I just didn't think to use it" it was true, yesterday he was feeling fine, dandy, and oddly energetic until the shower. Then things just careened downhill. Maybe the poison was starting to take effect...if it was poison at all.
His ears flicked as she stood and apparently became impatient and frustrated with nothing to do. This only made it all the more obvious to him that she was feeling fine. All he wanted to do was laze about and rest for the time being..Something that was normal of him regardless, but not amplified to wanting that to consume a whole day. Still, he noticed she walked over to the sink, getting a glass of water and soon offering him some. He shook his head quickly, feeling the returning nausea. "I'll pass"

"Do you?" Perking her ears up as she brought her glass to her lips and quickly downed the water, she set the glass back beside the sink for later use. "Whether you use it or not is clearly your choice, but it might help if you're not otherwise in pain to get the rest of your body in working order." She was indeed concerned he hadn't eaten or drank anything since the stream yesterday, yet she failed at hiding that in her voice.
Running over the things she could be doing to occupy her time, all that came through was chores....as appealing as that was. Sighing softly and looking to the ceiling a few moments, she figured now would be opportune to get to her back....and hopefully have an epiphany on something else she could do.
"Well, I think I'll go steal the shower, mind helping me when I need a re-bandage?" Nariko walked around the island and stopped as she passed the table, looking down at him as she picked up he looked a little ill.

He nodded, feeling there was really nothing more that he could add to that. In all it was up to him and right now he even wondered if he would take the effort to find a vein in his leg. Still, it was obvious her concern was starting to pull through, so he stood and decided to go find his medical pack, he stopped for a moment to see what she was doing first though.
"Shower huh..." he suddenly wanted one to. He kept that little bit to himself, and even the question that popped in of whether he could join....but this wasn't the locker room, nor where they on those kind of terms, so he dismissed the thought...as hot as it would have been though, he just didn't see that little fantasy happening.
"I'll try." he said with a sigh. More thinking, but at least now, he knew that he would be able to inject the morphine without someone overlooking

"Great, thanks!" She smiled momentarily, walking to the door ahead of him before picking up belatedly that he seemed to be repeating strange things....even more concerning he seemed to think about it after. I wonder if I even want to know... She thought for a moment and could only chuckle. "Don't worry, I promise I wont come running out in a towel."
Musing even as she went down the hall, she veered in her room for just a second to grab her towel and suit before heading across the hall to the bathroom. It didn't take long to remove the suit, however it did take a few moments to reach back and get the bandages off from around her waist. Taking the bathing suit from the counter she slipped it on, not so much as a mis trust to Dutch, but figured that she could just keep it on for drying since she wasn't willing to wrap the towel over her back. Simple in design as it was just a blackless, otherwise full bathing suit with the ties around her neck she used it many a times for bathing out in lakes during her weeks at the training grounds.
Turning on the water she stepped in, careful not to get her back wet get with the water jetting out strongly. Leaning forward she flipped her head down to try and wash her hair to the best of her abilities. "Stupid shower...." She hissed as she felt too tall for the small space, having to duck down to even get her head into the water.

With her final comment before heading to the bathroom, with a pit stop, he waited in the kitchen until he was sure she was in the bathroom, then he moved back to her room and maneuvered to the pile of armor he put next to his bed the day before.
Quickly locating the medical pack, he clicked it open and located a small vile labeled with the code that translated to a form of morphine. It was actually much stronger than morphine since he was from the future, and rather than making the receiver super tired and relaxed, it let their brain remain in a state of awareness..the use for this was practicality in battle, but for this occasion he almost wished it was the kind that made him loopy.
"Oh well" he murmured quietly as undid the button to his pants and pulled them down to his knee. He was surprised to find a vein so easily, but all the same, he took a needle and after attaching it to the vile, he stuck it in the oddly blue glowing vein and pushed down on the syringe, letting the contents flow into his bloodstream. After that he quickly got out a cotton ball with a cleansing agent on it, and taped it down before putting his pants back on. He made sure to cap the needle before walking back to the kitchen and throwing the useless vile and needle away

It took longer than usual to wash her mass of hair, reaching down past her hips if she let it all out of her usual up do of some sorts. Finally finished she twirled the hair all the way down and reached out to grab her elastic to keep it all infront of her. The heat of the shower felt nice, the steam lifting to relax her muscles and melt away her worries. It was something she did miss out in the field, since all she had access to was the cold water.
"Well...time for the back." Nariko spoke to herself and knelled down tilting her head down lightly as she adjusted the temperature a bit. Leaning forward so the stream wouldn't be hitting directly onto her burns, it was obvious she hadn't prepared herself otherwise. "Son of a....!!!!!!!!!!" She hissed, rearing back from the water as her back was sent into a painful spasm from the water. "Holy.....that really bloody hurt...."
Well, so much for that bright idea.
Stopping the water she got half out and sat on the lip of the tub, placing her elbows on her knees and resting her head in her paws. It stung, but she was more concerned about just how she was going to get through the weeks it would need to heal since day 2 was just as miserable as the first.

Feeling a twinge of pain, and then some relaxation, he felt the morphine kick in, but it wasn't as strong as he would hope. He still felt a dull throb of pain in his leg, and while all though it wasn't as intense, it was still there. "Odd...usually that stuff has me feeling no pain at all." he murmured to himself. He sighed and shook his head, but his ears quickly perked at the sound of Nariko cursing from her shower.
He didn't hear a thud or any clattering objects, so he assumed she hadn't lost balance or fallen, but all the same, he pulled himself off the bed and walked to the door, knocking on it lightly. "You ok?"

Lifting her head up to the sounds of the knock at the door, thankful he was at least still looking out for her well being (since this time the shout was at least legit!) Standing up from the lip of the tub she opened the door and gave a weary smile,tail twitching gently from the pain making her nerves spasm.
"Yeah...I'm alright, running water hurts more than I thought on open wounds...." Chuckling sheepishly she ran a paw to smooth down her hair still tied up front, at least a little thankful now she had the bathing suit. Turning around she crouched and grabbed one of the towels from under the sink and began to dry the ends of her hair off. "Looks like showers are out of the question for a bit until these start to scab over."
