I've been in The Sereitei since about a month or two after it was formed... but I was away from Gaia for about a year after that, and when I came back, loads of people had come and left, so I decided to start with a new character. My old one was terrible anyways - her name was "Liani" or something of the sort, and she had a water-based Zanpaktou...
First part: What? Second part: I like to make sure everyone who joins has someone that they know is willing to help out and that it is a friendly place for all XD

May I suggest coating your zanpakuto in a reiatsu layer that allows some rebounding?
And My guy just screws around and tries to get his opponent frazzeled so he can pwnstomp them

Well yeah, but you also have to take into account the low number of strictly projectile hado.
Most of the higher ones blow up on contact
Not to mention the tiring effects of pouring that much reiatsu in XD

Well considering Shan's never actually went all-out in a fight before and he's got a buttload of reiatsu to be capable of controlling earth, if he stopped earth manip for long enough to hit it, I'm sure he could handle just about anything.
