John looked around, not spotting anyone.
Cypher, meanwhile, was sitting right behind them.
"Satisfied now that I'm not out to hurt you?..."
John whirled around in surprise, the pup standing next to Jane protectively.

Bolting to her feet, Jane turned at the sound of Cypher's voice. "Him..." she growled to her mate. "If you don't want to harm us, what do you want?" the female questioned, keeping her anger in check.

John stood rigid, eyes focused on the pup before them...though the green markings kept drawing his attention.
"I told you last night, I'm just exploring."
Cypher smoothed out his clothing a bit.

John nudged her slightly, whispering.
"Don't be so quick to insult dear...."
"Sheesh sweetheart, you don't have to be so uptight..."
Cypher stood, eyeing her.
"You seem so quick to judge, it's no wonder you have to worry about enemies 24 hours a day..."

"He's intruding in our home John!" Jane whispered back insistantly. "And he refuses to leave! What are we supposed to do? Just let him roam at will?" She paused, raising her voice slightly as she looked at Cypher, not addressing him. "I'd rather view him as a threat until proven otherwise. And simply because he hasn't done anything yet is not enouh to gain my trust."

John kept his own voice low.
"It'd be wiser to make friends than enemies...you know yourself that a bunch of assassins live in this meadow, wouldn't it be better to confront them with a team? Our own...organization?"
Cypher's ears perked, the pup trying to listen in on their conversation.

Jane let out an exhasperated sigh. "fine..." she muttered, leaving John with the task of asking the newcomer to join them.

John snugged her a bit before looking to Cypher.
"So..um....do you live anywhere close by?"
"...Don't have a home, just wander around..."
Cypher's head tilted a bit, the pup watching them closely.
"Well...you're welcome to stay with us for a while...as long as you don't cause trouble. If you do that, trust me...you'll be sorry."

Jane watched Cypher, doing her best not to glare. She didn't like him, but she would put up with him if it meant giving the pair an advantage.

John nodded, the other's word being enough for him.

Jane was not so easily convinced. She'd be watching him to make sure he held to his word...oh yes. "Do you have a profession?"

"...I'm good with technical things...like those odd contraptions humans sometimes carry around..watches, phones, that sort?"
John tilted his own head, listening.
