Winter looked up, confused. "What's wrong kid? Never touched what?" You okay? Maybe you should go lie down. You're not looking so good." She stood up and walked next to him, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Kid, you look like you're gonna seizure. Maybe it would be better for you to rest."

Winter bit her lip. "Now, there, we have a problem. The only door I can lock is the bathroom... And it locks and unlocks from the inside. Plus, it's incredibly easy to pick. You can turn it with just a fingernail. It's mostly for when I have men over." She shook her head. "The best I can do is shut you in the bedroom and barricade it, but I don't think it would really hold you back- with your Meta strength and all."
Z grinned and pressed the '7' button. "Well, this is the elevator. Exciting, isn't it?" She said sarcastically. "Tom paid me more than was fair, so I can afford a pretty upscale apartment. I don't deserve it."

Z smiled weakly. "Thanks. And I'm sure it'll find you. Just definitely don't go searching for it. I'd tried hard to stop being a nerd to get boyfriends, and I did, but they were all assholes. I was dreading the job, because he was pretty big, as journalists go, and I expected him to be snobby. God, was I wrong."
Winter shrugged. "We could, but most of my heavy furniture is fastened to the floor, because the construction that I do can shake the house and cause things to fall. I can probably move a small chest of drawers in front, but if I can move it, then you definitely can." She shook her head. "I'm sorry."

Winter shook his shoulder. "Kid, you look like you're dying. I need to get you somewhere where you can lie down." She slung his arm around her shoulder and hoisted him up. "Let's get you to my bedroom."

Z smiled and led her out as the doors of the elevator opened. She took her hand and brought her to the end of the hall, unlocking the door. She swung it open and smiled. "This is it! What do you think?" The walls were painted bright green, and bamboo lined the wall. A single ceiling lamp lit the large room, filled with a curved couch, a love-seat, a few armchairs and a plasma TV. "I told you he payed me too well. This is only the living room."
Winter shook her head. "I bloody well can't leave you on the floor shaking. It's against my better nature." She smiled. "Don't worry about me, I won't let you hurt me."

Winter sighed and shook her head, dragging him to her bedroom. She lay him down and sat next to him, watching his face. "What has your idiot Father done to you? I wonder what he'd say if he knew I was with you now?" A thought struck her and she left the room and wrote a note. Gone out. Be back soon. She left it next to him and shrugged her coat on. "I think it's time I went to see one of my old boyfriends."
