Zane's was mystified by Luna's singing.
He was in complete concentration.
Until Rei mentioned Zane's brother.
Zane shook in fear.
His eyes filled with terror, he said,
"My......brother?!"
Zane felt like puking.

Turning to Loretta, she said, "Thats a nice name. You said you wanted to sing. Go ahead." Smiling, she turned to Luna. "By the way, that was very graceful singing, if you could describe singing as graceful," Kiriko laughed. Hearing that Kana was also from a highly influential ninja clan, she turned toward her and exclaimed, "Then you would be from the clan of ...!" Muttering to herself, she wondered, "Now, who woulda guessed?"

Rei's eyes widened and she put a steadying hand on his shoulder

"Yes, but please, calm yourself. He was here earlier looking for you, but he has gone now. You should be safe."
'For now at least...'

She shook her head again.
"Worry not, Zane. Even if he does mean ill, you are surrounded by friends who will undoubtedly come to your aid if need be."
One of her rare smiles appeared.
"You can at least count on me."

Not completely understanding the situation that Zane was in, Kiriko added after Rei, "And although you barely know me, I would be glad to help. whee I love helping others after all."

Rei tensed at the sudden hug, apparently unaccustomed to such shows of affection. But this was only momentary, and she forced herself to relax.

"I'm all ears, yah?"

One of the furry appendages twitched as if to demonstrate.

"Um, okay." Loretta said. She started to sing A Little Too Late. After she was finished, she said, "Sorry, I've got to go!" Loretta left for the forest.

Kiriko also sat back and listened. Although she doesn't look like it, she was pretty powerful. And if she was even in a pinch, there was always Nina to go ask for help. She was confident that no matter the situation, it would be handled fine.

He looked at his friends, smiled, then looked down.
"If Jason comes around, stay away.
He will kill you if you get in the way.
...
"I've got to leave guys.
I loved your singing Luna."
He turned around and started walking.

"As frightening and tragic as that situation is--and I mean that sincerely--I do not think you understood me."

There was no movement, no sound, but she was beside Zane, a twinkle in her eye.

"You're not getting rid of us that easily."
