"I doubt it. His kind are rare, but we were able to study a few of them before the fit hit the shan and the outbreaks got out of control. Zombies are wired much simpler than Living. It's easy on him to control and read them, but not us. Still, I'm not about to let innocent people die just because he told me to."

"I don't understand how one can control others though. Eh, guess I'm more of the 'Let's kill stuff!' kind o guy than the figure it out kind. Let's snipe him, what do ya say Daniel?" James pointed to his .50 still strapped to his back, smiling at the thought of really testing his skills.

"How can we snipe him when he sits in a room with no windows, concrete walls, and zombies standing guard?" Russ spat in frustration. "What we can do is get our supplies and make it look like the survivors were turned away and tell them to leave when actually they'll sneak to the train and hide on board and when we come with the supplies then we'll bolt as fast as possible." Rus had whispered this just in case a zombie in the area may hear and therefore Gravemind hear it.

Gravemind sat eating his steak with a fork and knife. For sides he had mash potatoes and asparagus. "Hmmm. I wonder what they'll do. Will they take our food with them or leave them to ruin? Oh well either way their not reaching the train they came in." Gravemind opened his rotten lips and put the piece of steak in his mouth.

"A .50 cal can pierce half an inch or plate armor from 2 miles. And still have killing power behind it. That's why I chose it over the others in the base back in Atlanta. Besides, with me and Daniel peppering it, we will eventually get him." He smiled as his case was proven, but his smile faded quickly when he realized that there would be several walls to get through.

"We're all pretty well armed, and we're even pretty good shots. The zombies standing guard are inconsequencial. We'll just kill them and clear the area, like we were going to originally. Whatever he is, he can only influence the ghouls. We've got nothing to worry about from him, except more of his troops. But let's put all that aside for a moment. Priority one is gathering supplies. We can't help anyone if we're dead. Once we've stocked the train, and made arrangements for guests, then I'm coming back for survivors. Who's going with me?"

Ellie looked around the group in anticipation. Gravemind, huh? That definitely sounded like a bad guy name. When Tyler asked everyone who would be going with him, she sweat-dropped when no one volunteered. "Don't all jump in at once, guys." With that being said, she went to stand beside the larger man. "I'll go with you for the survivors. We already found one here. Might as well see if there are any others." Smirking playfully (which caused her fangs to show), she added in an off-handed tone, "Besides, that means more fresh blood for me."

"Oh, I love it when you talk dirty." Tyler grinned and changed out the dwindling ammo drum of the SAW. He clicked off the safety and shouldered the weapon. "Well, let's do it. Those zombie's ain't gonna shoot themselves."

Ellie was slightly surprised at Tyler's words, causing her to blush a little while looking away. 'What in the world was that?' she thought in slight confusion. 'Why is my heart racing...?' Deciding to shake it off for now, she pushed her thoughts to the side. At his comment about the zombies, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, they could, but I wouldn't put it past them." Pulling out her new .45, she put in an ammo clip, flipped it by the trigger guard to test its balance, she gripped the handle in preparation. "But you're right, either way. Let's move."

With or without the consent of the group, Tyler marched boldly into the store, and began firing upon the hordes of undead. They were attacking in waves, no doubt coordinated by Gravemind. That was fine; Tyler didn't need to kill them all, he only needed to clear the room enough for survivors to escape. He was no longer able to see Ellie, but he wasn't worried. He assumed vampirism had granted her speed. He craned his neck quickly to see where the others were.

What Tyler assumed was correct. Vampires were quite fast, especially when they just feed. Ellie took the vial out of her cleavage, uncorked the top, and chugged the blood. After corking the vial and putting it back between her boobs, she was off like a bullet, shooting the zombies she came across. When her gun ran out of ammo, she tucked it back into her belt and drew her katana and a secondary dagger. If anyone saw her, all they could see was flashes of silver. From her hair or from her blades, it was unclear. But what was clear was that she was decimating pretty much most of the zombie army sent her way.

Tyler eventually caught sight of the innermost circle. Some of the mutated zombies Russ described were guarding the survivors. There were about six of them, looking completely terrified. Tyler radioed to see if the supplies were locked up, and the train was ready. They were. "Bar the doors, and don't open them, no matter what. Rotten human fingernails can't tear through steel. We'll be coming in from the top." A lone zombie that had escaped Tyler's notice lunged at him. He saw it just barely with enough time to move out of the way and grab a fistful of its greasy hair as it passed. He used its own momentum to thrust it out into the open floor. A single shot went into its head, and it was motionless. Tyler lifted the heavy gun to fire upon the mob, but heard the most frustrating sound in the world-a hollow click-instead. The ammo was out.

Seeing that Tyler ran out of ammo for his gun, Ellie vaulted herself off of a zombie and charged at the group of the mutated zombies. She began to slow as the immediate effects of the blood began to ware off. Quickly decapitating one and stabbing another, she flipped, kicking off the head of another. Although she failed to notice the tentacles coming towards her until it wrapped around her ankle. Gasping in horror, she tried to struggle as the tentacles began to wrap up her body. Up her other leg, down her arms and around her wrists till they're behind her back, around her chest till she could hardly breath. "Tyler! Help!" she shouted in desperation as she's brought closer to the zombies so they could feast off her flesh.

Tyler dropped the now-useless SAW and grabbed the fallen katana instead. He chopped through the tentacles, and the blade made a satisfying spark upon impact with the floor. The severed ends shrivelled and curled into little heaps of flesh, falling to the floor. He helped Ellie to her feet and tossed her the sword. He raised his fists, calling upon the experience of his boxing days. "Well, s**t. Now what?" he said as the shuffling mob closed in.

Ellie took the katana back when Tyler gave it to her, standing a bit closer to him in slight fear. "They just caught me off guard. I should be able to deal with them now." Before he knew what hit him, she jabbed a sharp fingernail into his palm and lapped up the blood that flowed out. With the new burst of energy, she charged at the zombies again, mercilessly tearing through their skulls with her fingernails. After the last of the zombies were dealt with, she retrieved her dagger and returned it to it's sheath, along with her katana. "Come on. There's one more zombie we need to deal with before closing up shop."

Feeling a little dazed, Tyler smiled and said "Alright, then." He kicked over a zombie corpse to retreive the SAW. He had more ammo in the living car, but this gun was the only one he had that could shoot the stockpiled ammo.
