I use Norton... It's the best not the worst. what's so bad about it? =o
Besides the fact that Windows Defender caught the virus before Norton did........
and then we found out what Trojans do...
when I went to a site and used THEIR virus scanner because Norton said nothing's wrong.. Dx
But everything's fiiiiine now.. I guess xD
EDIT: Apparently the script which the hackers were using has ben patched or something. But still be on the lookout?

They claimed to have patched a hole in the sites security, not the actual script. People have been hacked since they have said that, one of the best bumpers of Kitty's thread got hacked while bumping.
Btw, Norton is terrible.

ii Q u e e n P a n d a Alter Persona McAfee and Norton, both of them you are just paying for a name. I use a German Antivirus on my laptop and have for 7+ years.  Pandas will rule the world..........i use antivir heres a link antivir downloadits german.... and free and gets the best results in tests  .........Because Penguins are overratedTHATS WHAT I USE heart heart heart heart heart have for many years now, i love it

I have just one question for now and I hope it does not sound idiotic to everyone. What if I do not use Firefox and are there are any precautions I should be using other than the ones already discussed here? I use Google Chrome only for now. I do not enjoy using MSN browsers ever for many reasons. Thank you very much.

Berzerk Bruiser I have just one question for now and I hope it does not sound idiotic to everyone. Be on the lookout for suspicious stuff and use common sense on the marketplace? :3

Never used AVG, fell in love with Avira Antivir and haven't used anything but.

Great thread, but to be honest...even with everything spyware/malware/antivirus/firewall-updated, I really don't feel safe going anywhere on Gaia anymore.

It's probably already been suggested, but Firefox has an add-on called No Script.
Basically, you can choose what scripts to allow and which to block.
It's kinda annoying until you get used to it though...

Beware of "go here and you get items" things in your inbox.
Ignore those PM's and delete them.
And I think I might've found a hacker's profile with google....
because it has the same link as the link that the site link I got in the pm for "Free Items" would've got me to (My friend checked it out, they have a Mac).
I found 2 of them.
But I'm wondering if I should report them or not. Or how and where I should.
Plus, I tried going to one of their profiles but Firefox woldn't let me.
Oh and Persona.. should I PM the Google Diagnostic thing to you?
If you want.. it's quite interesting.. LOL

well i heard that the mods ahver gotten rid of the hackers? i heard that from TVG but they said they are working on more problems and trying to give everyone there items back

I've used AVG before, it's better than Norton, but that's not saying much. lol
It's always very quiet in the background, and does it's job well, it was especially good with spyware, malware and adware.
