"Need to do more than live day by day," Lin murmured.
She understood that she was a Second after all and had for small intervals lived that live. She had been completely bored out of her mind (well that and she couldn't understand most Seconds anyhow).
"That's understandable."

Aurin nodded thoughtfully. "It is," he murmured softly. "I must admit ... I had been hoping to ask her to return to Amon Darthir with me ... but I do not know if I dare, knowing what I would be taking her away from. Would she be happy there? Would she feel the same sense of purpose?"
He shook his head slowly. "I do not know. And I fear my uncertainty."
Earendil looked at the man pityingly. He understood that fear. And he understood also the reason why the man did not dare ask Rhea about it either.

Lin looked thoughtful at that, that was a good question. After all it would be very far away from everything Rhea had grown up with.
A small part of herself added her parents would freak.
"Evenutally though you two will have to talk about it," Lin murmured softly.
She was sure they at least admitted they love each other, which meant that once Aurin had to go back it was something he was going to have to talk about.

Aurin nodded. "I have every intention of speaking with her at length on the subject," he murmured. "But for now ... I will remain silent, and simply allow us to enjoy our time together."
He smiled warmly as Rhea turned to them, and she motioned for Aurin to join her and Serenity and Beren.
Earendil turned to Lin. "We should wash up for dinner," he suggested. "We'll see everyone there again."

"Yes," Lin nodded she looked at Miyuki.
She probably needed to be cleaned up she thought to herself.
"I'll go then it might take me a bit longer than usual to wash up."

Earendil chuckled. "I can imagine. I'll see you at dinner then."
And he ruffled her hair affectionately and headed off to wash up himself.
The next day was spent packing and 'hanging out' with Serenity and Beren. Though the couple had plans for traveling to the Borderlands in the near future, they weren't ready to go there just yet, having just arrived at the castle, and so they weren't going to be coming with the others.
The morning after dawned bright and hot, as was usual for the Southland towards the end of summer. Once again, Earendil was the first awake, excited for the new trip. When the sun came up, he was already on his way down from the mountain, having put in a few hours of training already.

If there was one thing Lin found difficult about having a baby was the inability to train when she wanted to. Sure, she could have probably asked someone to watch Miyuki for a few hours, but this soon into the game it didn't seem that right.
So instead she opted to be out in the courtyard where she could let Miyuki run loose (or rather crawl loose), without too much worry. Well except when she began trying to stuff things into her mouth.
Miyuki didn't care though she was having a blast feeling the grass, looking at the plants, playing with the feathers on her mother's wings....
"I just groomed that," Lin told Miyuki but made no move to stop except when the baby tried to tug the feathers off.

The courtyard was one of the areas that was less traveled of the castle, but there was one person who always loved to be out there. Aranxia, the shyest person living at the castle, had a habit of being out there to greet the morning. She had made it out there before Lin, and now that she was ready to go back inside, she wasn't sure if she could. She would have to go past Lin and the strange child that was with her ...
But on the other hand, she couldn't help but be intrigued by the two strangers who were in her space. She sat beneath a tree, not really hiding, though they wouldn't notice her unless they were looking for her. Her dark hair and tanned skin blended into the shadows of the tree she was under, and her dress, a dark green, helped her to blend into the leaves.
She giggled softly, watching as Miyuki tried to eat Lin's wings, her brown eyes sparkling brightly with laughter, though even her laugh was quiet.

Lin sighed as she picked Miyuki up, but not before losing a feather at least but it was probably one that would have come off eventually anyways.
"That isn't an important feather right?" Lin murmured taking a good look at it, "Nope... good."
She stopped and blinked as the foxy girl shoved it into her mouth. Lin rolled her eyes taking it out of Miyuki's mouth.
"That isn't very tasty," she told the baby.

No, it certainly wouldn't be, the little girl thought as she watched the two. But what made one feather more important than another? she wondered. She shifted forward a bit to see if it was different from any of the other feathers.
She needed to get closer ...
Keeping to the shadows, she got to her feet and tiptoed along the bushes to see if she could get close enough to tell between the different feathers.

Lin moved herself into a cross legged position letting her wings spread out behind her as she set Miyuki in her lap. This way Miyuki couldn't simply grab another one. Next time she might not be so lucky as having one that was ready to come off anyways be grabbed.
"I think this one is a lost don't you?" she looked at the drool dreched feather then to Miyuki who was clapping happily looking up at her creation, "Isn't good for a quill, or for stuffing..."
Pity too... Lin had come to when she wasn't using her fountain pen, used her feathers as quills at least the ones big enough.

Well, it seemed that Lin wasn't going looking ... and she was sitting, so she might not be moving for a bit ... surely that was the opportunity that the young girl was looking for. Silently, she left the shadows and squatted directly behind Lin, staring intently at her feathers, trying to find where there was one missing, and what made the feathers different from each other.

While Lin was musing what to do with a lost feather (besides throw it out) Miyuki took this time to crawl out of her lap. Making a bee line straight for the soft fluffy white things her mother called feathers.
"Hey!" Lin murmured in surprise as she moved to keep Miyuki from grabbing more.
This meant turning her whole body so she was no longer in the same postion as before. Without her back to Aranxia Lin could see the little girl was mere inches from her.
"Uhm... hello?" Lin blinked in surprise. "Ah!" Miyuki's attention was caught by the new person.

Aranxia was startled by the sudden movement, and she fell back, landing in the soft soil of the courtyard ground. She blushed hotly as she looked up at Lin, embarrassed at having been caught so close to her, and staring so intently.
"Um ... hello," she replied shyly, righting herself and standing up slowly. "S-sorry ... I ... didn't mean to ... to stare ..."
She brushed the dirt off her arms, trying not to cat Lin's gaze, and tried to brush the dirt off the back of her dress - though she had a lot of trouble reaching.

"Here... let me help," Lin spoke softly as to not startle the girl as she rose.
Aranxia, Lin had decided the moment she first met the girl, was the complete opposte of her sister, so shy....
"And don't worry about the staring, this is probably the first time you've seen me or anyone from Gaia up close hmm?"
