(I'm confused...I'm not near the pillar, that's why I shot my chakram at it, so I don't know what you mean by the last sentence in the first paragraph. If I was next to my pilar I would have just placed my hand atop of it and transfered my chakra)

Axel saw the light illuminate but dissapear. That's when Inferno shot the immense gigantice fireball straight at him. He landed on the ground from his jump as the fireball was nearing. It was too big...no way he could get around it. Axel crossed his arms in an X and braced his legs for the impact. The fireball hit him head on as he fought against it, his chakra spreading throughout his body, resisting the burns from the flames. That's when the fireball exploded right in front of him, sending him flying backwards as his back slammed hard against the wall with a loud pang. Cringing in pain, Axel hit the ground...his body screaming in pain as he was now on all fours, panting.
Edit: Axel struggled to get on his feet as he saw that Inferno was now being held back due to the pillars of light. Misuki and Mugen were relying on him to light up the pillar. He ran forward towards the pillar, charging his hand with the katon element as it glowed red. Reaching the pillar, Axel almost trip as he placed his hand atop of it, pushing his fire chakra outward unto the pillar. The flames spread out from his hand and set the pillar on fire, it was his flame spread technique, the one he used to set his chakrams on fire.

The Dungeon Master All Knowing | All Powerful | Really Annoying at Times...
As the fire spread into the pedestal, it was immediately absorbed, lighting the pedestal up instantly as the 'ka' kanji began to glow a bright red. Without an instant's hesitation, a beam of red whip-like energy then shot out of the column towards Inferno, ripping through the air as wrapped around Inferno's feet, leaving him completely bound in the middle of the room, unable to move, or to use any jutsu. "Bah! No fun at all. I barely even got warmed up... I didn't even get to activate the seal! Ton better not get more action then I did with his team."

Misuki SindoueSindoue clan | Suna | GeninMisuki watched in horror as Axel got hit by the fireball and was so tempted to rush to his aid but when she saw him get up and dash towards the pillar, a grateful smile made its way to her face. 'Way to take one for the team.' Once she saw the pillar light up and send the final tether to fully bind Inferno, Misuki took a careful step away from the pillar. When nothing happened and Inferno was still bound, Misuki walked over to him and took the scroll from Inferno's hollester. "I'll be taking that, thanks for the fight Inferno-san." Waving her group over, Misuki greeted them both with a warm smile, "Good job guys, we've successfully got the scroll. So Axel, would you do us the honors and open up the scroll. I think you deserve it after that hit you took." Misuki extened out her hand with the scroll towards Axel.

Axel limped his way over to Misuki, feeling the burns and pain all throughout his body. "No problem...boss...lady," he muttered as he took the scroll in hand, shaking not from excitement but from the pain on taking a jounin attack head on. Opening the scroll, he looked at it, wondering what it contained.

The Dungeon Master All Knowing | All Powerful | Really Annoying at Times...
 Before Axel even had a chance to take the scroll from Misuki, several very large clanging noises were heard as the cavern around them began to echo sounds of moving joints, with large bangs and noises that sounded like latches being undone as if something was being pulled apart. In an instant, the ceiling of the cave fell, dropping over 90 feet from the air, before stopping abruptly less then 5 feet above the group's heads. After another few seconds, the walls closed in as well, crushing the pedestals as they passed, releasing Inferno from the binds as they were now stuck in a box that barely contained them all. The lights then suddenly went out as a large amount of shifting could be heard, as if they were being buried by pounds of dirt dropped from the sky.
The group then felt a sudden upwards movement as it felt like they were being lifted up high into the air. A bright flicker of flame was quickly generated as the light flared up from Infernos hand as he offered a smile of reassurance to the group."Don't worry kiddos, Master Cobra tends to get a little too into stuff like this and loves to play tricks on people... thus the whole theatricality of the situation right now. May I be the first to congratulate you all though! No hard feelings I hope, and don't worry, Axel will receive expert medical attention soon. I didn't put much into the technique, simply enough to blast him away. He'll be in pain today, but he'll be just fine by tomorrow."
No sooner had Inferno finished speaking then the movement suddenly halted, jarring everyone for a second before they heard muffled cheers. The dome of earth they were encased within then dissolved from around them, falling to the ground and sinking into the earth as they found themselves in the middle of the arena, surrounded by the screams of the crowd. Looking around quickly, Cobra could be seen speaking to another Kage while a hawk was flying away from the scene. Two students were standing around as well, Zoro and Deil. It would appear that their team had finished first.
{{Congratulations Team #1! You were the second team to complete Phase 2!}}
