((Ok, as the offical alternate for Squadron during part one, I have a few notes on the robot that explain that. But first off, how I explained it to Kami:

Awesomesauce]JBofATE
AIM
3:09
Yeah. You see, the basis of the actual squadron units was that they had energy absorption and amplification.
3:09
For example.
3:10
A would take a fireball, and return it as his level 8 attack in melee. Or B would absorb and return it as a beam.
3:10
Better yet.
3:10
B could fire the beam at A and the attacks would compound due to the energy absorbtions. So they would have a level 16 attack.
3:11
Squadron C was the only unit that could create it's own energy.
3:12
It was, you guessed it, a walking generator of elecrtromagnetic energy.,

Kaminosai
AIM
3:12
well i had gathered that, but an EMP? shouldn't software to manage it short out first at least? XD
3:12
ahhhh

JBofATE
AIM
3:12
So not only would squadron D be desinged to absorb energy from C
3:13
It's gimmick, other than being the brain, is it is the most heavly armored.

[/quote]

So pretty much, heavy armor + being desinged to deal with the electromgnetic force that is Squadron C = Pretty nice imunity there.

And of course the notes:

[quote="opaj
Unit C
Level: 8
Abilities:
Energy Generation: C is the only bot who can actively produce a surplus of electro-magnetic energy.
Energy Beam: C, like B, can emit its stored energy- of course, this beam is always electro-magnetically based.

opaj
Unit D
Level: 10
Abilities:
Unarmed Combat: D rarely fights offensively, but it is also programmed for this type of combat.
Heavy Defense: D is both nimble and heavily armored- whereas the other units bodies are primarily made of energy-collecting parts, D's bulk is mainly armor.
Strategist: D is the brain of squadron. In the center of its body is the master CPU, which sends commands to the other three units. If D is dismantled (i.e., the brain is shut down- it doesn't matter of D cannot act if its brain is still running), the other three units lose the ability to co-ordinate and combine their attacks.

The only diffrence I remind you know is the major power-up Squadron got when Grabowski possessed it. It's just another way of explaining the electomagnetic resistance, say the power-up somehow made Squadron immune. Yet another way is to simply claim that it's the spirit, not the CPUs and wiring that's controling Squadron now.

For Worker and Parasite. I don't have a complex explination for them, only that they were ideed built for construction and then refited with the best tecnology money can buy. Chance's are A~E wanting to build a feild opritive would throw in some assistance in combating EMP. Probbaly in the form of getting it back online faster.

My building I will argue though. For one, this is an 85 story building with multiple subbasements. Never mind what I was going to type here, it was stuff Kami and I cleared up. Bomb didn't cover all of the building, hence I didn't just loose every computer A~E owns.
For the security system they're going about re-calibrating the turrets to a security CPU on a safe floor or a sub-basement. Kami agrees that three or four turns should be enough for that. So even three and odd 4.

And that's about it.))

(...well nice. That'll put my quota of useful things I've done during this event up to two.

Acting as a living shield with my other character and opening a door with this one.

...god I love it when everyone decides to cripple me.)

(( It's not like we're asking you to sit out for the rest of the event... I don't think one turn is too much to ask. ))

((Okay. I'll accept that explanation for Squadron. I just wanted an actual reason why he could do that. JB, do you have a specific estimate for the time Worker and Parasite would need to reboot? Does two turns sound reasonable to you?

And Crimson, I'm only asking that you be disabled one more turn than you planned. sweatdrop I think that's quite a fair compromise.))

(Considering that W&P doesn't have any real combat abilities yet anyways...

...yes, it makes that much of a difference.)

((Ok, I'm only doing this as the captian of the guild, not as a judge in BC. So, like yours it's just a sugestion.

While a OHKO would be the most realistic outcome, that's moot. Two turns would be the step down after that, but I'm gonna have to sugest a compromise. For one, I'm gonna have to go soon. So that's two PCs, one severly damaged the other imobalized, versus your enitre team.

But! Pretty much everybody on your team is immobalized, it's pretty much just Vince that can take a combat action. Mozz is resting, and Gizmo is stunned. None of them are completly knocked out though.

So what I'm proposing is that W&P take one turn complelty imobile, and then the second turn prepping the systems but aware. So the first turn would be getting the main CPU of both units back, while the second one would be cordinating the systems back into sync. W&P would beable to prepare, much like Mozz or Gizmo, but they wouldn't be able to fight just yet.

So you guys get your two turn advantage, Crim isn't crippled to the point where he beleives he would be useless. Fair?))

((Worker and Parasite, his character, not Weinberg and associates... At least that's the misunderstanding I think you may have made.

If not, I'm afraid I don't understand your post.

Also, Worker and Parasite did make a post for rebooting on the last turn that counted, the one before Arc left and therefore is not moot. While I don't think he should be rearing and ready to go, I do belive this should count for something.))

(Thought you meant Weinberg and pals. XD)

((To explain further JB and Bryces, Opaj decreed when Part 1 was over, and D lived, it gained the abilities of the other three units. Energy production of C, beams and amplication of B, and ability to use energy melee attacks like A. Meaning energy based attacks, whether EMP, Fire, Light, etc could be absorbed by Squadron, and used to amplify it's next attack.

As for the EMP question. I thought that since W&P was already rebooting, and that he was a sophisticated PC 'bot player, demanding he's out for the rest of the event, of even for something like 4 turns would be unfair. I made my descisions before after hours of serious contemplation. None of those choices were lightly made.

So... I'm here now. Start the round again. Vincent, Weinberg, Mozz, Joseph, those of you that have free actions now, go ahead.))

((Well, I was actually only asking for W&P to wait one more turn. Even allowing him to be on "standby mode" as Joseph Brown suggested is fine by me. I just don't think he should be acting as if the EMP wasn't any stronger than the electric shock was to Gizmo.

Anyway, do I post as if I just broke through the wall?))
PostPosted: Fri Dec 23, 2005 1:03 am

((Yup, you just broke through the wall, into an office adjacent to the fighting.

And if he wants to do standby, that's cool. Not saying he can't. But he would have been out, for two turns, if he spends this turn still rebooting.))

The Helicopter swung around in a wide arc, returning on a decent towards the building once again. The technician once again took his seat at the control panel while Matthias began digging through his case again. It would be a moment before they were in range again, and he had to prepare something special.

Gizmo touched Squadron's housing, in an attempt to pick it up, and was met with an electrical attack causing excruciating electrical damage to him, he was thrown back a few feet, stunned. Trying to sit up, he found himself exhausted. The combination of heat, electricty, and general fatigue was getting to him. He still had plenty summons in him, after all, he hadn't done many recently. But at the moment, he was in no condition to think straight. He lay down, and kept alert as he recouperated for a second.

Martian hug in mid air, suspended by a large mossy tendril wrapped around his body. His eyes were slits, barely able to stay open, but had to. He began mumbling incoherently, trying to find himself, trying to...wake up. Suddenly it hit him. "Waaaaaah, I just died in your arms tonight...must have been something you said. I just died in you arms tonight~"

The song flew out of his mouth, but he continued to regain himself. Pulling himself to the words, he was awake. Not the time to sleep. Sleep if for the weak...and the dead.
