Biohazard EXTREME

PostPosted: Sat Mar 13, 2010 11:23 pm

Oh. Sorry, Assassin's Creed hasn't entered its acronym into my vocabulary. Not my favorite game.

My next PSP game will be Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Then Persona 3.

P3P you mean, right? I really hope they keep all the voice overs. That was like, half the reason the characters were so awesome. Which is ironic, because I find that in Final Fantasy, the voice overs only took away from the characters. But then again, in FFX, the voice overs were fairly mediocre for the most part. They weren't bad, they just weren't outstanding.

okay im half way through the game chapter wise and its getting really interesting, i love it alot. tho unless theres alot of side things (which u start in ch.11) it will be short game. still worth the money. ninja

The only reason it's short, I suspect, is because it's linear.
You know, I'm replaying FF7 right now, and reading all the dialogue, picking up all the items AND doing the side quests, I'm at less than 40 hours, and I'm almost at the end of Disc 2. I suspect I can finish the game by 50 hours time. Like I said, AFTER side quests, including Chocobo Breeding. So FF7 isn't all that extremely long either, if you know where you're going.

yeah but i like the game so its worth it.

yeah i know what you mean on games being shorter when you know what your doing. first time through ffx i spend well over 100hrs. but now i could do it under 60.

Right, my point is that the only thing that makes RPGs really long is the player getting stuck in dungeons, or whatnot. They're usually not that extremely long. I mean, FF8's storyline is pretty short. When you break it down, disc by disc, there's not THAT much that really happens. It's just really well structured and makes it seem like a long storyline.

i dont think getting stuck really makes em long, i think its all that extra stuff people do.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 18, 2010 10:53 am

Such as? Like I said, I'm at 38 hours, and I've already done the chocobo breeding and racing, Ancient Forest, Wutai, Battle Arena, and pretty much every other sidequest I could think of, all I need to do is that Midgar mission and then the final crater. All that wouldn't take more than 7 hours.
So that's like 45 hours. And yeah, I'm not including Emerald and Ruby weapons. But they'd take like an hour to beat in total, the only issue is that you'd have to spend another 20 hours JUST on leveling up. So if by extra stuff, you mean level grinding, well, honestly, that's kind of a waste of time. I mean, in some games, you can't beat some bastards without level grinding, but in FF7, with the right materia, you could probably beat the final boss at level 50 - 60.

ya ya cause you done it before. im talking about people who havvent. first time through all the side stuff takes the longest.

Well, yeah. But still, the question is... If you beat FFXIII in 40 hours your first playthough... I dunno how long it actually takes you, but let's just say 40 for the sake of argument.
Would it take you 40 hours every time? Or would it take less if you're familiar with the game.

prolly about the same, maybe a bit less but not much...
PostPosted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:14 am

Right, so that's the point. Yeah, you could say that FF7 is longer with the level grinding and all that, but it's still 40 hours worth of storyline. So it's no longer than FF13, if that's 40 hours.

but it is if you havent played it before. plus theres all the side stuff. 13 is totally diff, there is no wondering around, no side missions (atleast not yet) and its pretty much story only. all the other ff games even 12 and x-2 have tons of side things you can do to make em longer.
