Olly, still blushing looked at Hatter and could only smile. He hadnt even removed his hand nor had he heard what Shakir said to him.
'She's... really pretty.'
He didn't even fight the thought this time around. He nodded at her.
Being out in the sun made his vision go out of whack and made him dizzy. Not exactly his cup of tea, seeing as how he was always bouncing around usually. He looked ahead, and without thinking, he took Hatter's hand, and gave a reassuring squeeze, letting her decide weather to hold on or let go.
He closed his eyes, his fathers words haunt him still.
'Trust no one but yourself. No one is worth the risk.'

'That can't be true. I'm... almost willingly to take a fall...'
He hand trembled, and he finally opened his eyes.

[[Chemie, you are going to drive me nuts. BLEG.]]

Daren looked very business-like as the group approached - though he was beginning to feel concerned by their behavior.
"Anyone interested in berries?" he asked. "They're fresh."

[[Oh you know you love it, Jen ^^]]

Hearing that they were finally at the train station, Alice sighed out of happiness. Her feet were killing her, and she was starving. The news about someone being there was also relieving. Traveling with this bunch was starting to get really annoying really quickly. The cat was always making trouble, Angie was still a little crazy, and Shakir barely said a word; only growled at Angie and Ollie occasionally. Oh, and Shakir had asked a very important question.

"Uhm..." Alice began, getting a little frightened. "I didn't have money to buy provisions, therefore there aren't any. I didn't even know where to go in Munchkinland to get any even if I had money!" Again, Alice's stomach grumbled as they neared the stand by the train station. Almost mad herself from hunger, Alice quickly turned to the man that was running the stand.

"Berries?" She asked, excitedly. "Fresh berries?" The thought of having something to eat was wonderful. "Yes, yes we would love some!" She wasn't going to mention that she still didn't have money for a little while. What the man didn't know, wouldn't hurt him in the end.

Shakir took a deep breath from impatience and pulled out his own money bag. "I'll pay," he 'kindly offered.' "How much?"

Daren thought about this for a minute. "Depends. How much do you want?"

Shakir turned to view the travelers, then took in the man's barely considerable amount of berries. "We'll take them all," he decided. They were in jars and would be gone by at least after breakfast anyway.

Daren blinked, then nodded. "Do you have ten gold coins on you?"

"Yes." Shakir selected the coins and handed them to the man, then waved his hand at the companions. "Eat up."

[[Just a reminder: Daren is supposed to come with you! How will you convince him to tag along?]]

Angie smiled at Olli as he squeezed her hand. She wasn't used to the whole 'Hand holding' thing but, in time, she figured she could get used to it. And come to like it. Oh, how the tables have turned...She thought, barely listening to the conversation with the knight. Wait, what?Knights don't roam around anymore. But he was mostly armored up, with his sword resting against the table.

All thinking aside, it might have been a good idea to grab it and examine the fine craftsmanship. It wasn't but she did it anyways, sneaking behind the stand and lifting the fine sword off the ground. "Absolutely lovely, sir knight." She said, prepared to begin a fun game of keep-away.

Oh, wont you have some tea with me?

Daren cursed at himself for a fool. The armor he had taken from his horse's pack only to let the horse rest, but the sword must have fallen on its own. Hastily he removed the pieces of armor he had on and stuffed them back in the bundle. With an empty face he held out his hand. "I'll... put it away now."

Angie laughed and moved away from the knight's awaiting hand. "I think not. Not yet that is." She swung the sword in the air, cutting down an imaginary foe. She was quite aware of those around her, and was careful to keep the blade away from them. "Unless you are willing to take it from me." She challenged, a sly look in her eyes and a grin on her face.

User ImageOlly smirked.
'A game of keep-a-way?'
A sly grin crossed his face. He usually caused trouble and such.
He had to admit it was nice to watch for a change.
But he kept on eye on the knight...
You can never be too safe.

Daren sighed unhappily and tried again. "I don't want to fight you for it. But that's not yours." He kept his hand outstretched. "Peacefully?"

Shakir continued to eat berries without comment. He was, however, wondering something similar to Olly's thoughts. The man looked as though he didn't actually want his armor to be seen. Suspicious?

Angie played some more with the blade before looking back at the knight. "Sir knight, why hide it? It's beautiful and would do wonders for the minds of the hurtful." In her own way, she knew what she was talking about. "Unless you are not a knight at all. Stealing from the dead, are we?" She smiled, a malicious touch to her face. "A true knight would take it from me." She adjusted her hat, hair falling into her face as she challenged the poor man once more. "Are you a true knight?"

Her words stung like fire.
Regretfully Daren acted swiftly. Dropping to the ground he held himself by a hand and swung his legs around to hit the girl in the back of the knees, hoping this maneuver would catch her by surprise.

                                                      Angie

Angie dropped flat on her back, not seeing the move coming. But she had hoped he would act. "Well done." She commented, standing herself upright and dusting herself off. "But what took so long?" She inquired, returning the sword, "A bit of a coward, are you not?" She knew very little about knights but knew that they never hesitated when one messed with what was theirs. Be it armor, weaponry, or land, they fought.

Slowly, she reached out her hand, sword held within it. No, she didn't want to give it up. She was having quite a bit of fun. But fun always needed an end and she didn't feel like leaving this encounter injured.

Olly felt slight panic rise in him when Hatter was knocked over. He couldn't explain it very well. This knight seemed to be... timid? Was that the correct word? He couldn't be sure, but he knew that he did not like this 'knight'. He watched as she gave back the sword, and with his blood red cat eyes, he watched the knights every move.
And he with that hUser Imagee made one conclusion.
Worry and panic were not good feelings in the slightest.

Taking the sword gently, Daren felt his head drop in shame. The young woman's words stung him like salt water to open flesh.
Bitterly, he turned toward his horse and hid his sword with his armor, bundled out of sight. "I never fight an unnecessary fight. Violence is a factor and a force only to prevent further violence. To attack you without proper provocation would be insolent, and senseless." He looked at her over his shoulder. "Why ask for a fight when there need not be one?"

Shakir cleared his mouth of berries and spoke. "Peace, Angie. The knight speaks sense. Besides, he's not the kind of knight you're thinking of." He turned to this new character. "You're of the White Order, aren't you?"

Daren paused, then nodded. "I was once."

Shakir looked back at Angie. "You see? Part of the Emerald Wizard's Army, and White Order to boot. He's been trained well."

                                                      Angie

"There was no need for fight, yes." Angie agreed, "But there was the need for fun." And she meant that. Though she understood that Alice served a purpose and that they were helping her get to serve her purpose, they were quite a dull bunch. "I meant not to offend." She offered up as a sort of apology.

The White Order? A highly respected rank of the Wizard's army. Angie had been told that it took many years to acquire White Order stature. He looked too young to be White Order if it took as long as she thought it did. In her opinion, of course. But his hesitance at answering the question confused her. White Knights took pride in their rank, no matter who they were talking to. She had heard once that a man said he was a White knight to the Witch. Needless to say, he was promptly executed.

She let the confusion cross her face after a moment, to make it seem like she was mulling it over, before speaking. "Why hesitate in answering? Shouldn't a knight of your rank answer quickly and confidently?" She asked, crossing one arm over her stomach and placing her other hand at her mouth, lightly nibbling on her finger. A habit, one she could not break for the death of her.
