kage no neko entervixen It sounds like you accidentally knit a stitch twice, though you might have split a stitch and knit both splits (which is another easy way to accidentally increase). If you catch it on the row where you made the mistake you can just knit two stitches together as if it's one, it'll bring the number of stitches back where it should be without affecting the width. Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing.. just wasn't sure how weird it'd end up looking. As long as you catch it quick enough it should look fine.

I can't knit either. I use my knitting friends as slaves to do my evil bidding. I'm like a bad guy from the old batman cartoon. I'm Lady Naggy and her Knitters MUAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

And I think I fixed it once, and then tried to fix another (it works and looks fine unless you're looking really close at the pattern).

It's easier on my wrists, but I'd say crocheting's easier. But I've been doing it since I was little. My only problem is I can't ever keep the side to the blanket straight. xd But that's my own problem, not the needle's.

I crochet too, for me knitting is easier but I have so much more practice with knitting than with crochet. I'm learning lace knitting now, I'm knitting two shawls with laceweight yarn and small needles (one set is a size three and the other is a size five) and man am I having fun. The second one is going much slower all of a sudden, but that's probably because one row alone contains something like 322 stitches, before all the increases (they all get decreased at the send of the pattern repeat, but still...). It's a ton of stitches I'm working with now, to say the least. sweatdrop But it's getting closer to being finished, so that is hella cool.

I'm using a huge circular needle, lol. it's forty inches from the tip of one needle to the other. you use them like straight needles, they're just connected by a cable. And the yarn is super thin too, that helps. And grats on recognizing a stitch you knit twice! That took me forever to catch, hehe.

Oh. I just got these two needles that I thought looked best for their price. Not nearly as large as the website said to find (it said to find a size 12, I got a size 7?) but they fit nicely in my hands and I like the way they feel. Once I feel I've mastered the basics, I'll move on to a better set probably. But for now I like them. 3nodding
I've learned to recognize how tight the yarn should be when I'm going to stab another loop. When it's tighter, I look closer and have noticed I stab a hole beside the one I want, which would leave the hole I'm after still there for stabbing, creating a double stitch. Yay for paying attention!

Wow a knitting discussion and i missed it! I am Double knitting this Rainbow Goddess afghan.. Its got rows of Rainbow Goddesses on black on one side, and rows of black Goddesses on a rainbow background on the other side. I've been working on it for over a year because it CANNOT be worked on in the summer. The thing is I thought I'd get back to it when I was done with Yule gifts, but all I have done since then is Knit and crotchet Tarot bags and gem bags, the easy stuff.
