A sense of vertigo overtook Louis as he released the freeze spell from his legs and launched himself up, kicking at Kichi's tonfa with his legs and freezing them back to the wall as his feet made contact, leaving him upside down for a moment, clinging to the wall in order not to fall. With a blast of darkness from his torso, Louis flipped back again this time freezing only one arm to the wall and striking with his rapier as fast he could to keep up pace with Kichi's attacks.

"Sh-" Louis attempted to fight back but was unable to predict the unusual weapon. I can handle swords and pole arms, but this is something else entirely! Louis lost his grip and watched his sword glimmer into the distance off the side of the platform. In desperation, Louis slammed his now disarmed hand into the wall behind him. Darkness spread out in the blink of an eye engulfing much of the wall's surface.

Out of the portal, a forest of tendrils sprang out at his opponent, pushing Kichi away from the fencer, and allowing him to flee up the wall in the midst of the chaos. Louis ran full speed up the wall, freezing each foot step and leaving glimmering boot prints behind in his wake, "Come on Kichi! Is that the best you can do? I know you better than that!"

The shadowmancer reached the ledge of the roof just as Kichi flew up at him. Louis slapped his palm into the wall again only this time, ice we'd left behind on the wall sprang to life and blasted out at Kichi forming spears of ice. Without a moments hesitation to even check if that would hold him off, Louis pulled himself up onto the roof and rolled away from the edge in case his opponent most likely came crashing through behind him.

Louis slowly stood to his feet, blinking the dust away from his eyes, trying to see through the cloud left at the end of the rooftop. He couldn't tell if he'd been put out of commission or not. His answer came with a sudden explosion behind him of dust and roof shards. He tried to turn around but was foiled preemptively by the three spells. The explosions engulfed him, launching him into the air in an uncontrollable spin. He looked around for something to grab onto, something to stabilize him before he ended up plummeting down to the ground.

[[Cue: Imperial Code]]

That's when he spotted his answer, high above. In an orb of darkness forming from thin air, Louis vanished before he could be hit further.

"I am the Black Abyss..."

In the sky, Louis dropped out of another portal and landed on a floating surface. He knelt on one knee and lifted his arm up with palm facing down, charged darkness to his palm, then slammed the ball of shadows into the sanctuary beneath his feet.

"The Frozen Steel... The Merciful Blade..."

Black tendrils shot out from the point of impact and engulfed his prey. Then, as his other arm was engulfed separately by a dark hole and a massive roar echoed over the entire hierarchical city, the majestic airship from before with its speared angelic warrior at the bow, pushed its engines to full power and charged at the opponent, below.

"With blade in hand I shall reap the pain of this world, and freeze the world into slumber!"

Louis leaped off as it ran his course and watched eagerly with glowing violet and wind rushing past his body, whipping his now tattered clothing and hair around behind him.

"Kichi Kuronagi! THE END HAS COME!!!"

Louis' jaw dropped as not only his opponent moved forward seemingly unphased by the magnitude of his attack, but effectively dodged with little effort and posed a counter attack in his face at such a great hight. His face altered a moment before his opponent reached him, this time into a smile, one of genuine excitement. His arms raised to block the first blow, only to spin with the momentum, and throw his foot around carrying with it a large amount of contained darkness ready to plow into his ribcage.

The last punch sent Louis flying away, back down towards his own attack. Nothing could be heard over the noise of the roaring engines and screeching metal against metal as the airship drove itself deep into the port's interior before an ear numbing explosion took out the entire port below as well as much of the city around it.

There was a short lag before the force of the explosion met with Louis, who leveled himself off just before. First the gust of wind, slammed into him. This was of little consequence, it was what came next that gave him the greatest trouble, the wall of Debris that flew out along with the explosion much higher than he anticipated, high enough Kichi would be within the blast radius as well.

Doing his best, dodging in and out of debris' path, specifically the much larger chunks nearly the size of buildings within themselves. After the debris was a cloud of smoke accompanied by smaller debris hidden within the cloud blocking everything below from sight. But, if all went as planned, this would not pose an issue for the shadowmancer even if he was to be blinded completely by the cloud.

Louis pressed off several larger pieces of debris then spun around to look back through the clouds. He couldn't see anything aside from a few lights flying in his direction. He wasn't going to wait for them to reach him. He summoned his rapier to him, confident in his cover the clouds gave him. He whipped his rapier around streaming darkness off the ends and trowing it into other flying objects around him. The darkness clung to whatever it hit for a moment, then threw it at the projectiles.

I need a counter attack!

His eyes caught glimpses of larger, faster projectiles heading his way, which Louis was hesitant to try and intercept the same way. His body spun around and with a swing of his blade cut a gap in the fabric space allowing him to fall through only a second before he would have plowed into a large outcropping of sharp metal that survived the blast.

[[Cue: Third Eye Satori Maiden]]

Louis flew out of a portal at high speeds due to his fall, pulling his rapier around and throwing it full strength at Kichi's back, as it flew, it created several black after images of darkness each forming a separate sword in itself, but Louis didn't leave it to hit him without warning, "Watch your back, Kichi!" Whether or not Kichi would notice in time, the blades would vanish mere inches before impact into another dark portal. Louis would fly in a second later, plowing his fist into whatever defenses there were, his face showing the same excited smile, never once vanishing from his face. He'd continue striking with unrelenting blows as another attack set up in the background.

Louis' blade spun around the battle field, bellow them, above them, in front and behind. Everywhere the eye could see, the blade continued passing by cutting short slivers of dark portals that seemed to suck in all the air around them creating a temporary vacuum that would actually slow the falling fighters to a stop.

Louis couldn't move from his spot in the vacuum so in a desperate attempt to keep him within the encirclement he whipped around his left hand into a strange position then threw it around, extending a web of dark tendrils that shot after Kichi weaving in and out of one another to grab his legs, In his other hand, Louis gathered darkness into a tiny ball in his palm. He struggled to throw the tiny ball as if it weighed far more than it looked while he pulled back with his hand attached to the tendrils.

The ball went about half way between the two and detonated, it expanded slowly, sucking inward with enough force to draw in Louis and Kichi. In unison, the rifts the blades cut around them expanded, letting loose streams of darkness that flowed inward towards the central black hole.

Louis sank into the center of the darkness, the size of the black hole suddenly doubling in size and expanding outwardly even faster, the pull growing even more powerful. As Kichi might have reached the edge suddenly all the portals vanished, the last bit of darkness trailing into the center of the black hole, the final drop sending a ripple across the surface as if the entire floating object was made of water. There was a moment of calm, then an eruption of darkness from the core. Black beams shot out in random directions releasing thunderous cracks, moving like lighting and connecting with the edges of the city and other far off objects including clouds above and below them. The lightning then broke apart dropping into hundreds of separate raindrops detonating on impact.

Bubbling tumors welled up on the surface and after a moment of hesitation shot off like bullets from a barrel scattering like fireworks some distance in the sky, or ramming into things and exploding like rockets.

All the while, the dark orb seemed to shrink bit by bit until only a small section remained at the center of the chaos. In the very core, Louis' shadow could be seen in a fetal position as if in stasis waiting to be awoken.
