With the flames gone and something else going on with the flying lady, Sam turned her attention elsewhere...to Allen and his crispy friend chicken wings. She then began unsnapping her red leather bike trench. It opened up to appear like a regular trench, one that was fire retardant, resistant and so on...Best money could buy.
"YO!"
Waving her hand to get Allen's attention to get over to where she was. She didn't want anyone hurt and until she assessed further, she had better get anyone hurt out of the way...She hoped the frenchman was okay.

As the flames dissapated around him, Allen slowly unfolded his wings, beginning to stand. As he did this, he wrapped his arms around Sey in a semi-protective manner.
Ironically, because he did that, any chance of slipping the core out from between then to the side was erased.
Flexing his burnt wings slightly, and wincing with the pain, Allen decided that he'd still be able to flyif needed. He'd regret it later, but it was possible.
"...miss Sey, find somewhere safe to hide. And protect that core."

Abel reached in his quickly unraveling coat and pulled out the half empty canteen. Downing it and tossing the usless container aside he decided to deal with the mage giveing James trouble.
Air seemed to be the fellows specility. Much better than fire, but still precautions had to be made. He jammed his two metalic stabilizers in the ground.
Now all the machine in the cloud of steam had to do was find the man in the cloud of smoke.

Gasping as the shot whirred through the air beneath him, Truewind shot into the air, scattering the remnants of Jayrune's manifestation-debris, checking his movement when he rose to just below Flare's height. Unfortunately, he could only watch as that absurdly long sword flew through the air towards her.
Or could he?
Taking the precious moments that the surprise of Jayrune's appearance provided, Truewind charged a spell, his slender fingers glowing with red energy. Gradually, a triangular shape of woven lightning appeared in his hands. He only hoped that he would make it in time to save his friend.

"Stupid white mages..."
She spoke this as she saw Allen stand..and then saw Miss Seyumi. "Damned White mages..."
"Get her over here!!!" Reving the bike slightly as she spoke. She didn't want to pull the bike in the middle of everything and not be able to get back out again. Itwas strange though...her wrist was glowing a bright white for some reason, even evident against the red leather.

The sword pierced the back of Flare's leg as she flew to get away from him. Stupid extending swords...she cursed in pain, and continued flying the way she was going, wrenching her leg off of the sword. Soon he'd be falling, unable to reach her...she wouldn't waste her fires on him.

Owle was still a little bird, and still getting crushed between Sey's and Allen's chests.
"Cheep!" she chirped in distress. It occurred to her that she could turn human, force them apart, and grab the core...but she'd rather be farther away from Allen before she did that.

As Sey slipped into unconciousness, Allen scooped her up in his arms, running at top speed towards Sam. Despite the pain from his wings, he managed to reach the girl fairly quickly, especially with everyone else distracted.
"Keep her safe. I have soemthing to do."
Depositing Sey, the core still tightly in Seys arms, and if she was still around Owle, Allen then turned away.
"Protect the core, too. after what Sey went through to get it, I don't think she wants to lose it."
And then he took to the air, ignoring the pain as he moved swiftly towards Flare, his katana materializing and at the ready.

(( On second thought... )) James pulled his eye away from the scope of the weapon as the smoke cleared, trying to find where the damnedable mage had gotten himself too... soon it was clear enough: a blonde, lightning-weilding figure floating in the air above where he had been.

Damnit, he was too far up for Abel to do anything at this point. He turned to face the rest of the group, stabilizers drawing a semicircle of unearthed dirt around him.
He could though get the advantage of the girl that just showed up.

((Um...so...I guess I'm going to rule that because Flare got her leg slashed, True was already moving when James fired. ))
Growling, the wind mage slashed through the air to Flare's side, tilting his left hand over his right and suspending the lightning triangle above his palm. He was almost too angry to notice the third bullet of the day flying through his wake. Almost. He shook himself and focused on his friend.
"Flare, are you all right?" he asked, the golden aura of his elemental nature flaring up and down his body, hair stirring in a nonexistent wind. The triangle of lightning whirled in his hand, ready to be unleashed.

She turned and looked the girl over, taking in the sight of the core. "Goddammit" Not knowing what was going on.But she did spot the bird. "What the hell..." Flinging an arm out and smacking the bird away. "Sorry critter, Miss magey here is more important." And tucking the girl in the trench before setting her before her on the bike.
"Let's get out of here." As she reved the bike and made to leave.
