Nik turned around and looked surprised."Well, that's a-"he started, but a huge black dog jumping out of the bush cut him off."Hell hound, stay back."Nik told the girl.
He took out his sword that he had gotten from his father just that morning when he was claimed. He slashed at the creature and it roared with pain.

Nightmare disappeared and reapppeared behind the hell hound. She ran up its back and stabbed it on the neck with her dagger

The hell hound howled in agony before bursting into dust. Nik ran up to where the girl was,"You okay?"he asked her.
