I was planning on being involved... but between the baby and work, I can't really do it. I applied to be a bio grader, but I didn't hear back after the preliminary conversation. sweatdrop I wish I had the time, too, 'cause it looks sweet.

Oh, and for RPing in the recruitment thread. Can any of you higher ups give me an okay in using a mobile suit for such things? As from what I've read in the Mecha discussion thread in the ASDF part of the guild, such machines are usually frowned upon. But, it's not like I'd be using a gundam, or anything really too powerful. I tend to use things like this. Or something similar, as I just prefer mass produced suits over most gundams.

If I get an okay anytime soon, I'll attempt to jump in to the RP.

I'll jump in when my brain works. I just hope our higher ups and whatnot don't get at my throat for RPing-it-up my way.

Well, we haven't codified the GA mecha yet, so it's fair game for now. Do we have a thread up for that?

Trust me, I wouldn't ever use a Gundam Wing style mech, period. I liked Wing, but I'd never use one for an RP. As I stated above, I prefer mass produced suits, myself. The Gelgoog Marine I posted above is a good example of something I'd rather pilot. It's something that has massive limitations, especially when not in space.

But just because one series had god modding style mechs, doesn't mean the rest of them do, and doesn't mean everyone is going to use them. I'd take a Zaku I, over any super powered Gundam any day.

But that's just me, and that's why I brought it up, so I didn't show up with something you guys wouldn't want around. I probably won't even join the ASDF anyway, since I'm not very knowledgable with the stuff you guys use, nothing personal though, just not very enlightened. I just wanted to make sure it was okay, that's all.

Clive: I specified GW because it's the odd one out. As far as I've seen, none of the other gundam series have had any nigh-indestructable mecha that wield planetbusters.

Hikaru: I caught enough odd episodes to get an idea of what the GW mechs survived, and there's nothing you can say to excuse the munch-cannon.

First YouTube result for a search for "twin buster": Hiro destroying a hostile enemy fleet in one shot, despite the fact that it outmasses him by a factor easiest expressed in scientific notation.

Result from a youtube search for "gundam wing": Gundam takes repeated fire from weapons which were one-shotting other mecha, followed by a high-yield explosion that failed to even scuff the paint.

Sadly, youtube and google video are very quick about taking down clips from the shows, so I can't show you the event I cited. I think you would have little trouble remembering it, though.

The problem with the GW gundams is that they are flat-out absurdly powerful, and if you tone them down far enough that they play fair with others then they're only a normal mech with a fancy paint job.
