 Konaga SaiAkatsuki | Konaga Clan | Special JouninSai was careful to mimic the ninja's movement with his own opposite movement, at all times keep the maximum distance from him that he could while sticking to the shadows within the collapsed area. Carefully looking around him before moving, Sai kept a close eye on the man and a lookout for any other ninja which might have randomly showed up in the area. He wanted badly to check the trap door and see what secrets were hidden below, but he needed this ninja to leave first...or, in an extreme case, if necessary, to knock him out.

Konaga SaiAkatsuki | Konaga Clan | Special JouninSai let out a sigh as he watched the ninja leave, relieved that the reconnaissance mission had not run into trouble so quickly. After making sure the man was long gone, Sai cleared the rubble away from the trap door quickly and placed his hand on it. Several clicks could be heard, but the traps that had been set into place within the room hiding this trap door had long since been destroyed in Selene's attack. Looking at the edges of the trap door, four seals were placed on the four sides of the square tile, acting a final defense.
Knowing full well how to disable such traps however, as he had seen many of these in the past, Sai was able to focus his chakra and filter it into the sealed pieces of paper, deactivating the jutsu traps on each seal. with a bot of effort, Sai was able to creep a finger under the door and slip into the secret chamber of the Hokage's mansion, quietly placing the floor tile back down as he descended into a dark room. Coming down a small, damp staircase, he found a torch lit pathway leading into a small room which contained tons of scrolls and files from the village's history. Not willing to take any chances, Sai moved into stealth and crept along the pathway carefully, avoiding the light of the torches as much as possible as he came to the room with the scrolls. "You can never know my pain..."

Konaga SaiAkatsuki | Konaga Clan | Special JouninThe room was dark and shadowy, the only light available coming from the flickering torch on the side of the wall. Cabinets with files lined the walls, and many scrolls and parchments were strewn about the single table of the room, which had one chair. Several large scroll cases existed around the room, more then likely containing the village's storehouses of jutsu and techniques. These were not why Sai had come however; he had come for information on the Bijuu, and Konoha had a great past with them. Seeing that no one was present, Sai finally dropped out of stealth, though his appearance was still that of a Genin from the village, rather then the red clouded robes of the Akatsuki. it was not likely that a disguise like this would stand up against any scrutiny, considering a Genin could not have bypassed the traps, but it was better then nothing.
Opening up the cabinets, Sai began rifling through the files, searching through endless mission documentation and the village's finances before finally coming to a list of shinobi, old and new, with information about each of them on it. Looking through the profiles, Sai found no information directly linking any of the village's members directly to that of a Jinchuuriki host..."No village in their right mind would put information like that down on paper...". In his search however, but he did happen upon a profile that seemed odd. A Special Jounin at the age of 14?...and it was someone who he had not encountered in his and Selene's invasion, and one who had a strange attribute of the magma element. "Magma?...I've never heard of such a thing..." Sai took the profile and tucked it away under his robes, searching through the rest of the profiles, but finding nothing of similar interest or intrigue.
Continuing on through the room, Sai found an old history book, one that contained the events of the village, and skimmed through it, finding nothing of interest, except for the usual history, when he came across the mention of the Kyuubi which used to reside in this village. A brief commentary followed on the bijuu themselves, and Sai's mind was awakened as he saw the image of the Yonbi...a gorilla like creature who fused earth and fire into lava jutsu. An evil grin crept over Sai's face as he closed the book and placed it back where he found it. Sai moved about the room, rearranging things to be the same as he found them and then turned to walk out of the room, and down the hallway. "You can never know my pain..."

Konaga SaiAkatsuki | Konaga Clan | Special JouninOut of the quiet stillness of the ruined hokage mansion, a tile lifted up from the floor, a single hand propping it up off the ground as he peeked out from underneath. without so much of a whisper, Sai got up out of the secret passage, only a slight creek being heard from the passageway as he slipped out and closed the door behind him. Sai looked around quickly, seeing no one in the vicinity and reached into a pouch behind him, hidden beneath the veil of the henge technique as he pulled out a small pen and four pieces of sealing paper like the ones used to set the trap in the first place. Looking around quickly, he was able to find a knocked over, cracked jar of ink still with a few droplets left in it as he grabbed it and dipped a pen inside to absorb the liquid.
Re-forming the seals as best as he understood them, Sai placed the papers as they were original before he deactivated the original seals and activated them with his own chakra, rigging them to explode if they were torn, or improperly tinkered with. Finding the original scraps of destroyed seal traps, Sai pocketed the material, leaving no trace as he re-buried the trap door underneath a series of rubble. finally done with his task for the time being, and with the scroll of the possible Jinchuuriki tucked away, Sai entered into his stealth mode and began to stalk away from the area, sticking to the shadows where only a very select few would even be able to detect him.

Edward strode through the ruins of his predecessor's mansion, shaking his head at the opulence that was evident even in this ruined state. Casting his gaze around, the young leader finally shook his head one last time.
"This won't be where the new Office will be built. Definitely going to change locale...why did she have a mansion anyway?" He shook his head and turned and walked away, belieiving that everything, including his predecessor's hidden study, had been destroyed. He had to pick a new place to work from.
