"I have never tasted kitty-kibble and I have no intention of doing so," 'Felicia' said, dead-serious. "What do you eat, dog chow?"
'No, you eat my ancestors,' Felincia thought. She remembered one of her earliest Keeper classes, when they had shown pictures of human bones - all lined with werewolf teeth. Dad had told her that her own great-great-grandfather was among them.
At least they were walking to the mansion now. She felt her device in her hind paw and knew that no amounts of kitty-kibble would deter her from seeing this through.
As they went, Jerry yowled a war cry. There's no human words for a feline war cry, Felincia decided, so she described it this way: pride.
Hey, cats may be stiff, loner creatures. But you haven't heard pride until you've heard their war cry.
And the alley cats answered his call. They didn't exactly bond together as an army for a common cause. All these cats were loners, fighting for survival by protecting their alley territories. Jerry was offering them a chance to prove themselves, to invade another creature's land and have a share of it.
Cats listen to that pretty well, it turns out. Soon there were at least twenty alley cats, plus 'Felicia' and Jerry, following a giant werewolf.
'Could this get any weirder?'

"No, wolves used to eat any meat they could get. Humans were included unfortunately. That was around the start of the middle ages. Now we hunt deer and sometimes other larger pray. No humans anymore though," Abby replied to the remark about dog chow.

Jerry called on nearly all the alley cats. She knew most of them and Abby's tail wagged happily behind her as she greeted them, nudging some with her nose.

Noticing how weird it was for all these cats to follow a dog still within the town, she ducked into an alley and changed back. She began walking again with the multitude of cats following behind her. "Thanks Felicia and Jerry. You guys are really helping out," she thanked them.

It was a long trek to the werewolf mansion. Once they were outside of the city limits, the girl transformed back into a wolf and the entire pack began to run. 'Felicia' relished in the fluid, graceful motion of running on four legs - it was an incredible feeling of power! For a moment, she concentrated wholly on the running, the feeling of the Earth flying underneath her, and didn't worry about the failed experiment, the raiding mission, or the mass creation of Xedods.
Soon the mansion loomed in the distance, and the pack began to slow down. As one, they turned to the werewolf, awaiting orders.

"Circle around, find good places to hide," Abby told the cats. "The wolves are building big walls. The only way any of you can get through them is the line facing west. There is a trap door that tunnels underneath the wall. It's big enough for three people across, cats should have no problem fitting. Just nudge it open. It's not locked, but it is well hidden," she told them all. As a human she could not understand their replies, but they sounded like a mix of cheers and agreements.

She turned and walked over to where that very trapdoor was and pried it open with her small hands. There was no handle on it, so she put a small stick in to keep it open just enough for someone who knew it was there to be able to open it.

When she climbed out the other side, helped by her pack's large and firm hands, she called out their orders and encouragement. They were doing well, but the assault would be large and even with their advanced notice, a full scale siege would end with their loss.

The Keeper lab heads had been busy, and the Keeper military heads busier.
Being one of the Xedods, Shaishuu was asked to participate in training classes with other newly-injected Keepers. She would rather stay with Evangeline, but she didn't know how to say 'no' to a senior Keeper.
Classes were larger than she remembered them to be, but she supposed that they were anxious to finish the training so they could attack as soon as possible. She was one of five panthers - all who looked as though their DNA came from the same panther. They were told apart by stripes of color on their hind legs. Shaishuu had a small grey stripe, one had a tiny white stripe, one had a brown stripe, and so on. But there were dozens of lions, tigers, bobcats, and other wildcats that looked very capable of doing harm.
Classes weren't really classes, they were more like tests. Since the Keeper heads didn't know exactly what the Xedods could do, they called in zoologists to oversee the sessions. Shaishuu was put through on obstacle course with the rest so her feline powers could be analyzed.

Eva was making rapid progress. They had her in physical therapy already and she was working on using her crutches. The bones were weak due to being hollow, however, they were strong enough to hold her up for now. She was weaker than before, but on her way to recovering. Maybe she would be able to go on a recon mission by the time she was twenty. The thought teased her endlessly, mocking her as she fell down.

Felincia was chuckling insanely inside as she helped a few the other cats through the trap door. If the Keepers lost this raid, she'd kill the person responsible. It was basically playing into their hands!
'Felicia' herself stayed outside, and her fellow cats began to spread out. As she suspected, they stayed out of sight from each other, being the loners they were.
Except for one.

"You'll want to find a post, Jerry," 'Felicia' told him. "Why're you still here?"
Jerry licked her ear affectionately. "I wanted to patrol with you, tuna cake."
If cats could blush, 'Felicia' would have. Such a compliment! 'Tuna cake' is basically the equivalent of 'lovely goddess from the sky' in human. She licked him back, but was inwardly frustrated. She needed him away from her, in case the Keepers came - oh wait. She had a couple of days to go. "Thanks for the company, tiger.

Abby was dwindling off the number of wolves she put on patrols. The cats had it covered and were loyal and trustworthy. Of course there were still a few wolves on patrol, but she needed as many of them rested as possible. Keepers were vicious in battle. He father had left one grand lesson for her to learn in life and that was to never underestimate an opponent.

Abby recorded some numbers down in her study, going over them. The Keepers had them sorely outnumbered and better equipped. Swords and bows were excellent, but electric billy-clubs and rods that threw chains that could trap six wolves at once did a little more damage. Keepers had made Werewolves a dieing race.

"Fletcher?" she called out knowing Fletcher, a shifty little wolf, was nearby. Fletcher turned into a matted, skin-and-bones wolf who had neither speed, nor strength. He was a useful informant however. He had connections all over the city, both as a wolf and a human. "What news do you have?"

"The attack has been moved closer. Tomorrow evening at the earliest, most likely in the dead of night."

Jerry had wandered off to hunt, promising to return with a mouse for 'Felicia'. This gave the Xedod plenty of time to come up with an excuse for him to patrol somewhere else. She was, honestly, sorry to do it - Jerry was the nicest companion a cat could ever ask for, even if he was a bit of a flirt.
This brought a question to mind - was she happier as a cat, or as a human? Supposing she fell in love with a cat like Jerry? What happens?
Felincia imagined punching herself. 'You've got more important things to think about, you useless buffoon!' she told herself.
The Keepers might be coming, or might be planning still. She wasn't entirely sure about what they would do. But she felt herself tense with anticipation.
Then she relaxed. She was a cat, after all. Cats don't stress.

Evangeline had transformations scheduled. They were going to force her to transform and hopefully find out if the bones would hold up through a transformation. Unfortunately, she was still unable to transform by herself still.

When they hooked her up to the machines and the first shock entered her body, she grabbed the bar they had provided for her and gripped it as she tried to keep from screaming. To force her change they had to shock her with electricity. The electricity needed to be strong enough for her brain to register that it needed to change to try to heal the damage. She still had several more rounds to go through too.

Abby spent the next hour and a half in the study trying to work out how to approach a keeper attack. They had enough food and water to last everyone a week tops. Any attack longer than that would fond them losing miserably.

Before she was aware of what happened someone was shaking her. "They're here! The keepers are here!" they yelled at her.

Abby snapped awake and darted out of the study. She paused at a window to look at the oncoming swarm of Keepers. Swears that no regular nine year old would know escaped from her mouth.

'Felicia' had managed to ward Jerry off, telling him that she had a sister to look after and would bring her here shortly... Please go guard somewhere else? Thank you, and all that. So she was alone when the first Keeper approached. He was a small, thin man. He looked around, looked at what could have been a wristwatch, and looked around again.
Felincia realized that it wasn't a wristwatch, it was a tiny computer screen that led him to her tracker mechanism. She trotted forward so she could see him.
The man looked at her suspiciously, rolled his eyes skyward, and breathed, "Just in case you're the one I'm looking for: Heya, Xedod."
He was a Keeper after all. Meowing, she trotted behind him, into a bush where no cat could possibly see her. She transformed and stepped forward. "It's about time you got here."
The man recovered from his shock. "Where's the entrance?"
"That trapdoor, there. How many are with you?"
"All the newest Xedods and some senior hunters, your da included."
"Great. When you all get close enough, the werewolves will certainly see you. For a while, just attack from the outside. Don't you dare go through that trap door. We'll use that once we've weakened them a bit."
The scout nodded and turned back to report. Felincia went with him; she wanted to see what weapons they had brought.

Shaishuu was one of the Xedods in the ranks. She listened as the seniors discussed their plans. "We'll put 'em under siege, first," a senior Hunter said. "They're obviously self-supportin', but if'n they can't come out an' hunt, they'll run out of food. When we notice a sufficient number of fewer werewolves fightin', we'll use the trap door. Don't give 'em no suspicion that we know 'bout it."
Mr. Cain, Felincia's dad, spoke up. "How do we intend on weakening them?"
Two long rows of weapons lay on the ground. A fellow Hunter pointed to each and described them one by one. There was no doubt that the Keepers had superior fire arms.
"One last thing," Mr. Cain said. "Don't let any Xedods transform just yet. Wait until there's nothing else for it. And most assuredly, not until we're inside. We don't want them knowing what they're up against."
Shaishuu listened with no emotions.

Abby was shouting out orders. Werewolves were ordered to take up positions behind the wall. "Don't attack until they attack first!" she shouted. She quickly changed changed before heading outside the mansion.

Many of the people transformed into their wolf shape as well. It was easier to shout orders in the form or wolf howls and have people unable to understand it rather than shout something like 'Circle them and sneak up from behind,' as a human. Unfortunately, there would be no sneak attack launched by the wolves right now. They would probably be surrounded and trapped. She hoped they would win the battle quickly.

"Get ready! The attack should come within the hour. Keep on the battlements! If someone falls, let secondary wolves attend to them. Don;t get distracted. They have better weapons then we do. We are stronger than them though! Show them how strong we are!" Abby howled out. She heard some cats respond with yowls. She lead a long howl that challenged the Keepers to attack.

The last test had forced Evangeline's entire body to transform. The restraints holding her to the machine slipped off. the shouts of doctors followed her as she flew off. 'I'm not going to be a prisoner for you to electrocute,' the thought, wishing that the doctors would hear her. She flew high overhead, scouting for where Felincia had told her that the mansion was.

After several minutes of searching, she found the direction she needed to fly in. Evangeline flapped her wings, the instinct of flying kicking in. Within a few minutes she was nearing the camp. 'How do I land?' she wondered. Her question was answered when she began flying towards a branch and her feet grasped it. She saw Felincia talking with her father and various other people.
