Sora sighed as she ran from yet another room in the hospital. One of the patients had decided that they didnʻt like the color of her hair and had tried to cut it off. The girl stopped in front of one of the mirrors in the hallway and examined her hair. It was really short now... just a little bit higher than her shoulder. That was a huge change, since her hair used to be well pass her waist before. Perhaps nobody would notice? BAH! Of course everybody would notice! "Sora, are you alright?" One of the other volunteers asked from behind the girl. Sora turned and nodded slowly. The other volunteer had long brown hair tied into a side ponytail and glasses that always seemed to be slipping off her face. Fortunately, she had avoided the hair-obsessed patient. "Sorry about that. Kiku-chan doesnʻt really like any color besides brown." She laughed quietly. Then she left to go and take care of another patient. Sora just growled before grabbing her clipboard again and walking down toward yet another room.

When she got inside, she saw that the patient was just laying in the bed with a kunai stuck in his arm. Obviously, he was in pain. The nurses around him were scrambling for an anesthetic, but Sora stopped them all in their tracks. "I got this." She sighed as she placed her hands on the boyʻs arm. "Tekishutsu." She whispered. Slowly, the kunai began to dislodge itself from the boyʻs arm, yet he didnʻt feel a thing. The nurses around her stared in awe until finally, the bloody kunai was in Soraʻs hands. "Bandage him. We donʻt want him to lose any more blood." The girl said quietly as she placed the kunai on a nearby table. The nurses nodded and began to do other things for the boy so that he wouldnʻt lose any more blood. Is it just me, or are the nurses around here like, seriously useless? Sora thought to herself as she left the clipboard in the plastic holder by the door.

"Kyuuketsuki-san! You are needed in Quarantine!" A voice crackled to life over the loudspeaker. Ugh, seriously? Sora thought as she began sprinting toward Quarantine. Along the way, she began to use her chakra to cleanse herself. Many of the nurses stared at her as she sprinted pass them. Perhaps because she was sprinting in a hospital? Or was it because she had a silver sheen due to her chakra? Whatever the reason, Sora had been completely cleansed by the time she walked through the doors of Quarantine. "Whatʻs the situation?" She asked as she walked into the station. "Weʻre not sure..." The nurse said through her mask. After looking at the patient for a few seconds, Sora could already tell that he was suffering an infection. "Move aside, then." She said quickly as she made a few hand-signs. "Shindan." She hissed as she placed her hands on the patient. Slowly, she began to follow the string of bacteria until she reached his arm. "Kiyomaru." She made another hand sign and disinfected the cut. "He should be fine now. Please bandage him and make sure to apply antibiotics to his wound every morning and evening." Sora instructed as she walked out of the Quarantine room. Then she began sprinting down the hall once again. It was so much work to volunteer at this goddamn hospital!

Shindan (Diagnosis)
Description: The first step in treatment is understanding the problem. With this skill a shinobi uses their hands to carefully probe a patient for problems. This technique is preformed by kneeling over a patient and slowly running both hands over their body, looking for signs of injury that may not be visible to the naked eye. It can detect things such as internal injury, improper heart rate, non-apparent bone fractures, poisoning, and disease. A ninja of higher rank has learned to use this technique to perform a rudimentary examination of a body to determine cause and time of death. A Genin using this skill takes several minutes of work to determine the nature of a problem, a Chuunin takes less than a minute and a Jounin requires only a few seconds.

Tekishutsu (Extraction)
Description: When a patient’s body has a foreign object in it, such as the point of a shuriken, a senbon needle, or an arrow, it is important to remove the object without further harming the patient. Using this technique the medical nin places their hands on either side of the injured area and uses chakra to very carefully manipulate the surrounding tissues in order to remove the object without causing any further damage. Depending on the severity of the wound and nature of the object, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to remove it.

Kiyomaru (Cleanse)
Description: It is not always possible for a medical nin to practice basic hand washing and other procedures. This technique has the effect of instantly removing bacteria, dirt, blood, and other contaminants from the user’s hands, lower arms, and face. It also insures that any breath that comes from the user’s body will be free of any bacteria or infectious disease. This technique can also be used to clean the wounds of others in order to prevent infection from bacteria. It the event that the medical nin is using this technique to prevent infection of an injury that has been inflicted upon them, it is used as if the shinobi were using it on somebody else.

Teikouryoku (Power of Resistance)
Description: A medical nin must always be aware of becoming a victim of whatever their patient is suffering from. With this technique a medical nin temporarily increases their resistance to diseases and poisons. It has no effect on diseases or poisons already affecting the medical nin. This technique improves as the medical nin grows in power and affords greater resistance to a wider range of diseases and poisons.

Sora skidded to a stop in the lobby of the hospital as a few nurses came flying through the emergency door with a patient on a stretcher. "We need a doctor, now!" One screeched at Sora as they began to run toward a room. From the looks of the patient, he wouldnʻt last another five minutes, even if Sora went to get a doctor immediately. So she followed the nurses. "Go find a doctor. Iʻll take care of him." She said calmly as she placed her hands on the patient. Then she began to channel chakra into him. The nurses just watched in amazement as she did so, which brought a menacing glare to the girlʻs eyes. "Go!" The nurses immediately scrambled out of the room to go and find a doctor. Sora stood above the patient as he became more relaxed and could breathe again. His blood rate returned to normal and his breathing evened out. But she knew better. This was only going to work for a little while until the doctor showed up. "Thank you, Kyuuketsuki-san." The doctor said as he rushed into the room. Sora released the jutsu and hurried out of the room to another patient as the doctor began to perform on the patient. There were other things that she needed to do, and there was no time to stand around and do nothing.

"Konnichiwa. Namae wa Kyuuketsuki desu." Sora smiled quietly as she walked into the waiting room. This was where children came for their annual check-ups and such. And with Academy enrollment just around the corner, many of them were here to make sure that they were healthy enough for the academy. "Kikuchiyo Jiro?" She read off the list. Immediately, one of the boys stood up with his father and began walking toward Sora. The girl then led then down the hallway into a room. "Okay, Jiro-chan. Iʻm gonna ask you to look at that chart over there and read the bottom line for me." Sora pointed at the eye-chart on the far wall. The boy nodded and began to recite the last line of the chart perfectly. "Hai... Now, cover your left eye and read the bottom line again." She said, taking a few notes with her pencil. After Jiro had finished with that, she repeated once more with the other eye. "Alright then. Could you take your shirt off, please?" She said quietly as she pulled her stethoscope out and placed the metal circle on the boyʻs back. "Deep breath." She instructed. Once she was finished, she took some more notes before having the boy put his shirt back on and sit down. "Say ʻaaahʻ." She said quietly. The boy followed her instructions as she placed a tongue depressor on his tongue and looked around for a few seconds before taking some more notes. There were a few more test left afterwards, and one shot to take. But after all that was done, Sora handed the boy a lollipop before pulling the boyʻs father aside. "Jiro is in perfectly good health. I can fill out his academy forms for you." She said quietly. After she finished filling out the form, she sent the boy on his way and called in the next patient. It took seven patients to find one child who couldnʻt enroll in the academy. "Iʻm sorry, maʻam." Sora whispered quietly as the woman began to cry. "Your daughter has Legionnaireʻs Disease. She had it ever since she had pneumonia. The death toll for this disease is 5-30%, but your daughter is healthy and may overcome this disease through antibiotic treatment. I shall inform the doctor." Sora sighed quietly as she made a few notes on her clipboard. Sora sympathized with the woman. She had just found out that her daughter may be dying and it was everybodyʻs dream that their child become a shinobi. Well... it was most parentʻs dreams for their children to become shinobi. With that, Sora had finished the final patient for the day and went to inform the doctor of the child with Legionnaireʻs.

Life Preservation Technique [Ichimei Hoyou no Jutsu]
This jutsu is causes a small amount of chakra to cycle through the patient. The chakra spreads to all the bodily systems and smoothes everything out. Bodily temperature is regulated, blood flows better and the patient can breath better. This is only a temporary cure, however, as after the jutsu ends the patient will quickly relapse.

"Alright! Just a few more hours left to go!" Sora smiled as she settled down into a chair. The doctor finally decided to give her a five minute break for all of her hard work. Hard work... right... At least she was getting paid for this. So for the next five minutes, Sora sipped from a cup of tea and began to think a little bit. She thought about back at the office. Yes, she had heard what Koizumi had said before she left. It wasnʻt like Sora was really scared, but it was a definite threat from the woman. Perhaps when David came back she could take on Koizumi again. But the girl shook the thought out of her head. It was wrong to pull somebody else into her grudge/fight. Especially David. The boy had done nothing but be nice to her and this was how Sora was going to repay him? She was a real friend, alright. But Sora wasnʻt going to apologize. Apologizing wasnʻt going to repair a broken heart... or pay medical bills.

"Kyuuketsuki-san... your assistance is required at the front desk." A voice was heard over the loud speaker. With a sigh, Sora finished off her tea and walked toward the lobby. When she got there, she could see why there was a problem. There were angry visitors all over the lobby. For some strange reason... they were all yelling at the poor girl behind the front desk. "What seems to be the problem?" Sora asked quietly, walking over to the desk. "Ahh, Kyuuketsuki-san! These people want to visit the patients, but Iʻve been trying to tell them that visiting hours are closed until 4 oʻ clock." The girl said quietly. "Youʻre denying us the right to see our family!" One of the women screamed. This just made more of the people in the front lobby begin screaming again. And this gave Sora a headache. "Please allow me to explain." She sighed, but nobody even bothered to look at her. She looked around and saw that the only employee members here were her and the girl. So with one swift motion, the girl took out a Tatsu Ubi and threw it right over the crowd. This made everybody panic as they huddled together and withdrew from the front desk. "Finally..." Sora hissed. Then she got up on the desk and sat on it so that everybody could see her. "Okay... visiting hours are from 6 oʻ clock in the morning to 1 oʻ clock in the afternoon. The nurses are to perform their duties with the patients until 4 oʻ clock when visiting hours open up again until 9 oʻ clock at night. If you have a problem with this schedule, you can take it up with me and weʻll have a chat about it." Sora growled. A slow murmur went through the crowd and Sora heard a little bit of what they were saying. Why should they be afraid of a young kunoichi with short hair? So for added emphasis on why they shouldnʻt ask questions, Sora took out Tatsu Yabai and threw it at the wall so that it lodged itself into it. "Any questions?" She asked. The room fell silent and nodded. "Good! Four oʻ clock is in thirty minutes. Are you guys that immature that you canʻt even sit tight for thirty minutes?" Sora asked. "I havenʻt seen my son or husband for three days! Itʻs hard for me to be separated from them! " A woman cried out. "Well I havenʻt seen my mother or father for over 11 years!" Sora retorted back. Then the room fell silent again. "Yʻall complain that you havenʻt seen your family for days and you miss them dearly. So what? Youʻre gonna kill somebody to see them again? Is that it? Theyʻre gonna get out of the hospital soon! We have some of the best doctors in the land here, and theyʻre doing their best to get your family on their feet again! So stop acting like brats! At least you can see your family again!" Sora spat. With that, she got off the desk and began walking over to where she had thrown her sword. The parents and children made a path for her as she walked by to grab her sword. What? They havenʻt seen an orphan before? For causing such a disruption Sora was sure that the head nurse didnʻt want to see her anymore so she plainly walked out of the hospital and back toward the mission hall. She had done everything required of her, right? Thatʻs all that mattered.

A nurse walked toward the Nanashi and looked at them shocked. " What hap-" She was saying before Aura glared over toward her. " I have no idea... Please heal him." Akura said plainly as he gave the boy to the nurse. She nodded and took the boy away. As the nurse left into a room Akura sighed and walked out toward the mission center.

Sora entered the hospital to a whole slew of injured people. Nurses were running out like crazy trying to stop patients from bleeding or to try and get children to stop crying. There werenʻt many dead bodies, but there was plenty injured. Why shouldnʻt there be? There was a frickinʻ village-sized monster by the tower that could easily smash a few blocks with its pinky finger. But Sora didnʻt want to do the death toll count in her head at the moment. So she set her stuff down and began to get to work on the patients. She was only a genin, so her chakra could only last her so long, but she had to keep on trying, keep on going until she couldnʻt go anymore. This was the only way that she could help her village now in this desperate time.

Sora ran from patient to patient, wrapping broken appendages and performing simple first aid. But she didn't try to use any of her chakra yet. She would need it later should something incredibly insane happen and the monster decide to attack the hospital. Smart move by the monster, but a horrible fate for all of the civilians inside of the vicinity of the of the medical center.

Looking out the window, Sora saw multiple large explosions and a lot of flying sand. Perhaps something would happen and they would make glass? The idea humored the girl, but she didn't laugh. After all, the hospital head might get angry at her for "slacking off". As Sora was moving about the patients, she noticed a boy that she had seem maybe once or twice at the academy and around the Kazekage's office while Koizumi was still Kage. What was this boy's name, again? Well, it didn't matter. He was bleeding profusely, yet she couldn't tell where the wound was, exactly.

"Um... are you... Nanashi?" Sora asked, looking at the file laid by his side. He was bandaged a little bit, but the bandages were blood-stained and didn't look like they had been changed in quite some time. In fact, it looked like nobody even cared to feed or tend to the boy for quite some time. Jesus, the help that the hospital had was horrible. Tsking to herself, Sora began to take the bandages off of the boy, laying them aside to be burned later on. Then she took a damp cloth and a bucket of water, wiping the blood off of his body. There were deep gashes all along down his body, especially his feet. And his eye... his eye was completely gone! Where the hell did this kid go? Hell? There was also a black shard of some sort embedded into his palm, soaking the bed that he was laying on a deep crimson. "NURSE! I need needle, thread, and Morphine, STAT!" Sora cried out the door at a passing nurse. The nurse quickly scrambled to get the supplies while Sora continued to clean the boy's body. If only she knew the flesh stitching technique... then she wouldn't have to use a simple needle and thread; ten times more painful. But first things first... "Teikishutsu [Extraction]," she whispered quietly, placing her palm over the shard. Soon, it began to slide out of the boy's palm painlessly until it clattered to the floor. "Kiyomaru [Cleanse]," she whispered again as she placed her hands over the boy's body. Her silver chakra formed at her finger tips until it engulfed her entire hand as as she began to work her hands up and down the boy's body. She was cleaning the wounds, nothing more. From the looks of his feet, he had been in the desert when he had gotten these injuries, and there were a lot of different types of bacteria that live out in sand. Ahh, germs... how Sora dreaded them.
"Here you are, Kyuuketsuki-san," the nurse said as she placed the equipment on the table.
"Arigatoo," Sora said quietly as she took the morphine and began injecting it into the boy's body. The pain would soon begin to ease slightly, but the morphine would take about ten minutes to take full effect. Unfortunately, this boy didn't have ten minutes if he wanted to survive. Sora threaded the thread through the needle and began to sew together some of the deeper wounds with skillful fingers. It would most definitely still hurt, after all, since the morphine wasn't taking full effect yet. But in the end, through much pain and blood, Sora did manage to stop the bleeding and ease some of the boy's pain.

"Alright, rest easy now," she said with an emotionless face as she sprinted out to go and tend other patients. Now they were filing in, almost as if the hospital was more of a safe haven than a hospital. Soon, the lobby would be overcrowded with bodies... This was turning out to be one big nightmare.

The windows outside the medical center darkened exponentially as Sora looked outside. She could barely see anything, and that wasn't good. The hospital was now running on the generator, the lighting provided by the sun outside. With no sun, there was no light... and that meant that everybody would be left in the dark. In slight desperation, Sora ran out of the room she was in and ran out of the building. What she saw made her nearly yelp in surprise. Okay, sure... the monster was huge. But she hadn't seen it so close before! It almost seemed as if the monster had grown closer to the medical center and now she could see its gruesome details. She saw David, and this woman with purple hair riding on a multiple-headed monster of some sort. She also saw a boy hanging off of the back of the monster and... Oh God, was that Koizumi? With a shake of her head, Sora ran back into the hospital and began to file the people out. She had to get them underground, into the catacombs. That would be the safest place for now, wouldn't it?

Luckily, she got everybody out in time. The monster smashed about a fourth of the village flatter than a sheet of papyrus, the medical center included. Lovely... now all of the medical supplies was gone, too. But Sora didn't let it distract her from her mission. "Everybody! Go to the catacombs, now!" she cried, motioning for them to move as quickly as possible. Many began running and screaming, so the girl had to move quickly through the crowd to keep the people quiet. The last thing they needed was for the monster to notice and begin attacking the people.

"Take all of the injured into room 11," Sora instructed calmly toward the nurses. "It's one of the safest rooms... trust me," she muttered, knowing that Tanzu's family cemetery was in there. She had been in that room. Sturdy, well-built, and well-supported. If there was any safer room in the entire catacomb area, may she be struck dead by lightning-

At that moment, a bolt of lightning smashed into the ground by the monster, and Sora gave a yelp of surprise as the ground shook. The people began to panic again, and some even began running toward their houses. They were a lost cause now... Sora could never get to them and get them into the catacombs in time. So she just focused on the people who were listening, who were going where they needed to go.

As Kay entered the hospital, it was already extremely busy. Men and woman of all ages were being treated and respirated all around Kay as he walked to a medical ninja. "Another young man? He can't be more than five!" she said taking him, then seeming the exauhsted, bruised Kay about to fall over. "He's one of the greatest ninja this village has ever seen. You owe him a thank you," Kay panted falling backwards. Akura would have to wait a few,... hours...

Sora ran back to the medical center, immediately spotting a familiar face in the crowd. It was that boy from earlier, the one that had blown passed her on the ball of air and had been sitting in the window of the Kazekage's office during her exam. Interesting how people keep on showing up over and over and over again.
"Excuse me... may I?" Sora asked, tapping the nurse on the shoulder. The nurse nodded and moved a little bit, allowing Sora to finally get a good look at the boy. Her eyes widened, her breathing catching in her throat. Why was David laying on the hospital bed? "What happened to him?" she asked the nurse, growing more and more hysterical by the second. His chest was still rising and falling, but his eyes weren't opening... was he asleep?
"He's exhausted, but he'll be fine," the nurse said quietly. "There are patients to attend to..."
"Yes... I know. But I'll stay here and wait until he wakes up," Sora whispered quietly, still staring at David's sleeping body.
"Very well, then," the nurse bowed, then left the room. "I'll bring the other boy in as well..."
"Yes, please do," Sora whispered, watching as a nurse helped Kay into a chair. They all looked exhausted... bloody... perhaps even a little bit broken. Who wouldn't be? They were the shinobi fighting the monster, after all. "Kay, is there anything that I can do for you? Anything that you need?" Sora asked, worry apparent in her voice. She didn't know the boy very well, but she had heard his name, seen him a few times. And he had helped save the village, and deserved the respect that he ought.

"You know what would seriously help right now?" He began tiredly, hanging his head back over his chair and beginning to rip off his gear. His gauntlets fell from his wrists first, revealing patterns of the series of latches and straps that kept the guantlets and chain shooters on his wrists. Then his goggles fell into his lap gently, and his hood fell back. HIs grey eyes, absently trailing all around the room. His muscles beginning to liquify. His entire body finally reacting to all he had done during the adrenaline surge he had went through. "A glass of ice cold water, and some sleeping pills," he said rubbing his head. All the commotion was causing him to get a headache. His sweat would begin to collecft under his robes, which promted him to pull it off, leaving only his black pants. What a night...

"O-Of course, anything," Sora said quietly as she stood up to go and get the boy what he needed. As she was walking down the hallway, she couldn't help but replay the scene over and over again and again in her mind. All of that gear... it must be heavy. Just carrying all of it around would be quite a strain, but to fight in it? To be just as nimble as anybody with that much gear? Sora shook her head at the thought. How she wished that she had been born a boy sometimes.
"Here you go," she said as she reentered the room, handing the boy the water and the sleeping pills. Then she went back outside, grabbed a bucket of water and a towel, and walked back into the room. "You are very brave, to go out and fight that monster," she commented, her face remaining very serious. She dipped the towel into the water and placed it on David's forehead. He was caked in sand, and he had a slight fever, but that was about all. At least he wasn't in serious need of a doctor...

KNowing that with the pills he'd be out sooner than later, he sat them down on the desktop next to him, and then took a sip of the water. "Nah, the gear isn't that heavy when you've had to run around the entire village in twwice as much gear as I just dropped, plus the weight of it. And the monster, well I guess I'm either brave or stupid. What's your name, girl, so I won't have to call you that," he said taking intrest in her now that he knew she was a medic.

Sora looked up from David for just a little while before she looked back down. "Kyuuketsuki Sora, Genin Medic in-training...." she responded quietly. Then she added very quietly and very quickly, "ex-girlfriend of the Hachibi Host." Then she turned to look at the boy a little bit more closely. "I believe your name is Kay... at least, thatʻs what Iʻve heard," she muttered quietly, bowing her head in his direction. "I donʻt mean to be intrusive."
Being as polite as she was, many people would be annoyed with Sora right off the bat. However, she just hoped that this boy would be different. After Tanzu, she had had some issues making friends again.

"Kay Aburame at your sevice I guess," he said smiling at her almost timid responses, and highly polite behavior. Looking down at David, Kay smirked as more thoughts of revenge surfaced, but they were easily suppressed, just as his muscles were being easily suppressed by his exasperation. He sat back donw in his chair and downed the pills. "Nice to meet you Sora," he said hanging his head back over the chair and then falling asleep rather quickly...
