Mitsuka walked over to Makoto and Miharu.
"Do you know if I'm aloud to stay in this class? The teacher hasn't said anything..."

Makoto continued:
"We are practicing introductions to a Parton."
Makoto bowed her head to Miharu using her as her parton.
"Greetings, I am Makoto from the Hinohasu Okiya, I am but a lowly Maiko but will do my best to please you and I beg your indulgence. Is there anything that I may get for you?"
She looked up to Miharu and whispered.
"Like that."

"What if you mess up or forget? Will the patron not like us?"

"Ah, understood Makoto, thanks again my friend."
Miharu stood up and said, in a clear, crisply ennunciated voice,
"Salutations, Most honorable Patron, I am Miharu from the Hinohasu Okiyaa. I am only a clumsy Maiko, but I will try to take care of your every need. Is there any need that is most pressing?"
Miharu paused for a breath, and turned to Makoto,
"Like that?"

Makoto whispered on:
"You are liked by your personality, skill and talet. This class teachs you the proper manners you should have around the partons and people that you may meet. Some partons can be big bussiness men and for them to come again and again would bring in lots of money, and they should be treated with respect so they will come back, perhaps to see a certain Maiko or Geisha over and over again. As Maiko and Geisha we will meet alot of people and we need to know how to greet each and everyone of them."
Makoto turned to Miharu listening to her greeting.
"Yes thats wonderful. Now also do this with your hands when you bow."
Makoto set her hands straight on the floor keep the plams from touching the floor, her elbows did not point outwards.
"Like this and make sure you keep your arms like this so your arms don't strech out like a bird's."

Mitsuka nodded her head again.
"I think I get it." Mitsuka stood up straight and then bowed to Makoto and began to try.
"Hello. I am Mitsuka, from the Hinohasu pkiya.I beg your indulgence and that you will be most happy with me in your presence." Mitsuka stood up and returned her gaze to Makoto's.
"Is that...what you would do?"

"Yes, but we would be postioned on the floor when we bow. I believe. Like the other girls are doing."

Mitsuka tilted her head.
"What do you mean on the floor? Like..on our stomachs?" Mitsuka giggled a bit at the thought of geisha belly first on the floor introducing herself.

Makoto shook her head.
"See how the other girls are, we are seated before the parton, we keep our fingers of the floor our palms off the floor to make them look more delicate. We bow out heads and say our welcomes."
