I hadn't read the LOTR books and when I saw the films I thought they were fabulous!

Harry Potter on the other hand............!

I'm planning to see the Da Vinci Code without reading the book, then I'm going to read it. biggrin

Cause the same thing happened when I went to see the Beach. The book is amazing, What the heck did they do to the film?????!!!!!

Lol.

I'm re-reading Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, and I just see this major problem that I wish would be addressed in my mind. I mean, they have Veritaserum, and they even USE it, spur of the moment, at the end. You'd think, if there was ONE appropriated use for Veritaserum, it would be for the Ministry of Magic to use it during trials, ESPECIALLY when finding out who's a death eater and who's not, or when sending someone off to Azkaban. Because I read the part about how Crouch's son is swearing his own innocence and he's shipping him off to Azkaban anyway for a life term. And it would have cleared a lot of innocents from having to go to Azkaban, or at least help the ministry know for sure whose side Snape is on.. Ah, but then that would make it too easy huh, and the story wouldn't be as interesting! I just wish she'd make SOMETHING up as to why it's not used in trials. If it's hard to brew, or expensive, you'd think it would at least be used for that and that alone... stare

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH but maybe the ministry of magic is corrupt or has an agenda....then they wouldn't want to use it now would they?

I'm rereading/rewatching (time-considerations) the H.P. series as well and there are a lot of questions and "holes" that I'd like addressed as well. I was not thrilled with the last book (Half-Blood Prince) - I just don't think it was as well-written as some of the others. I'm trying to find a softcover copy of Order of the Phoenix to reread that one (all refreshed with the series otherwise), but it just doesn't seem to be on the shelves!! gonk

I love the HP books, cant wait for the 7th one. Though I have to question JK's sanity after what she did at the end of the 6th, and I have to wonder how many lynch mobs she started lol I know I cried for like 2 days, I was just shocked that she would do that. As for Snape I always knew he was a slimey git lol, and Fudge is just as bad. Then again I don't like Ron or Hermione much either.....go figure that stare

Alyce, is it? Welcome! And HOLY KAU @ how many books you have! eek eek eek Where do you keep them all? Do you have a high ceilinged library with rolly ladders and spiral staircases? lol (like in Beauty and the Beast! Wouldn't that be cool?)

rofl rofl I like most everyone in HP, even some of the more malicious folk like Snape and Malfoy and his dad. But not Umbridge of Fudge for their refusal to open their eyes or use their brains!

Ahhh yes! That's one of Jason's favorite bad guys too! He's awesome in movies he plays, and I must admit, he's one of the only bad guys I've ever LIKED as a bad guy! wink
