"He'll get better," Faolan said, ruffling Rhian's hair. "That doc'll fix him up good as new. Lee prolly should've taken him to her a lot sooner."

Rory climbed into the hammock and lay there, satisfied it would support his weight and then some. He reached over and took Lee's hand. "Come here, girl. It'll hold us both."

Rhian reached over and hugged Lauss, nuzzling against his neck for a moment. "Okay, Lauss-teacher. Then I won't be sad any more - we'll just need to get you better!" Then she kissed him, gently, for once mindful of the presence of Faolan and Ellandra - the latter of whom seemed to be going of into something between 'awww' and 'my baby's growing up too fast', judging by the expression on her face.

Wait, had he really done it? He'd made her feel better? What had he said again? Blinking rapidly as she nuzzled him, he wrapped his arm around her hesitantly, more confused than anything, but still very happy. Nuzzling brought back nice memories, and he suddenly missed the short period of time he'd been living here, mainly because it had been so long since he'd slept in the same room as Rhian. "Rhi, I should sleep over. Or you should. I want to sleep with you on top of me again." He had no idea how wrong his words came out, and simply smiled over at Rhian, hoping she'd agree.

"I bet he will. It's been a while since he's been able to hover..." Lee blinked, realizing what she'd said. "I mean... he... used to sleep in a hammock earlier, too. Not hover literally, I mean... you know..." She likely wasn't helping herself, but Rory couldn't know Lauss used to hover, couldn't know that Lauss was anything but a normal little servant boy. Luckily for her, she wasn't so stupid as to come out and say, "He's not an essentic, I swear!"

"Ew, not ever," Zia murmured from the table, making a face. "Too much information. Bleh."

"Wasnae tha' long ago tha' you wanted to climb all o'er your Crux, lad," Faolan reminded the Essentic, chuckling.

Zia shot its owner a cross look. "That's different. We weren't making public asses of ourselves and talking about sleeping together all the time." It looked down. "I wish he'd come visit again. I miss him."

"He'll come again, I'm sure o' it," the young man sighed, wondering as well where his best mate and the canine Essentic had disappeared to.


Rory just raised an eyebrow at Lee's words, but decided not to question her. Outsiders could be odd, or so his mum had told him often enough. He pushed at Lee gently, a silent cue to get up. "W' should get back, yeah? They'll start t' wonder on where w' went."

Rhian tilted her head. "We could get our own vardo for sleepovers!" She declared, looking to Faolan hopefully.

Lauss looked from Rhian to Faolan, not sure what to think. While he wanted to curl up with Rhian, he wasn't really ready to be away from his master anyway; he saw Lee little enough as it was. "It's okay, Rhi, we can wait for sleepovers if we're not allowed to have them yet." While he still didn't understand why they were forbidden, he'd at least try to behave himself.

With a sheepish smile, Lee held Rory's hand and bit her lip. "Thanks for helping..." Then again, she could probably have done it herself this time, but it was nice putting Rory to work either way. Giving him a small peck as thanks, she was slightly reluctant to leave, but figured everyone might start assuming the worst if they didn't return soon.

Faolan sighed and looked at Elle before turning his attention to Rhian. "How about we do sleepovers when Elle an' I are feelin' a little better, yeah?"

Rory just smiled and blushed a little at the kiss, taking her hand in his for the walk back to the Grady vardo.
