Jon nodded, shutting up. Then he slipped into some clothes and out of the bedroom. He had her sleeping schedule down to a tee. And after he tore apart the living room he found her list on the fridge.
Then, of course, felt stupid for not having looked there sooner. Jon slipped out of the apartment and into the car. His camera laid, unscathed on the floorboard. He needed to hide that.
Not because of pictures on this one, but so that she didn't break it. Or hurt it in anyway. That thing was his life. His only... err. Of course, Audrey was more important, but she wasn't an item.
Not by any means.
Jonathen set it in the seat by him and drove off, ready to get her list done.
Walmart, open late. Perfect.
He looked like a fool gathering these things in his cart. By the time he got to the check out line, where an older black lady looked faintly tired he had rang up quiet the bill.
Of course, he paid with his own money and even sprang for a pack of Stride. Then he made the drive home and put away all of the things before falling into bed next to her.

Jonathen slept horribly. He woke up every thirty minutes, exactly. And found himself being very careful not to disturb the blonde next to him.
Then he shook himself awake around five in the morning, the sun just barely rising.
He remembered something she never put on the list, but needed. He ran out the door and hopped back in the car, heading for the walmart again.
Just as he passed a bench on some backroads, he noticed a brunette and pulled up to the side.
Someone was sleeping there? That was rare to find around this particular part of town.
Uhm..
Wait.
He leaned out the window before actually getting out.
"Kori?" He asked, suprised as hell.

And down here from the ground, I see who you areKori had slept fitfully, not to mention it was well, cold, and she had only a thin sweater because her bigger jackets were in the room. And there had been no way whatsoever that she would have disturbed Miah.
Plus, the bench really wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep...
She had just been in a light doze in the early morning, when the sound of her name roused her.
It took a moment but she sat up slowly, wincing. Everything hurt. E V E R Y T H I N G.
Her shoulders, her arms, her head, hr stomach, her sides, and... worse places... it all ached.
She jumped a little, just making everything hurt worse, when she suddenly realized there was a car pulled up like right there.
And... hey... wait... "Jon?" she whispered hesitantly.
What... what was he doing out here? At this time? And...
Kori felt behind her where her head had been for her bag as she remembered just why she ached and what she was doing. Maybe doing.
But um, yeah, not good that somewhere, anyone, much less someone that could identify her even by first name, found her here at such an odd time.
A breeze rolled over her arm, making her shiver, and she suddenly realized when she sat up, the sweater fell off one shoulder. The one that was bruised pretty bad on the upper arm. She quickly pulled it back up jerkily, trying not to wince when she brushed the spot.
At least it was still pretty dark, he wouldn't have seen, right?

"Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." She sat up, causing the tiny sweater to fall off her shoulder. He caught a quick glimpse of something dark colored on her light skin.
A bruise..? Maybe? And pretty bad by the looks of it too.
"What.. are you.." She looked so vulnerable. Fragile.
Broken.
But mostly cold.
"Here," He went to take her hand, very gently. He led her to the car and opened the passengers side.
"Get in, I'll crank up the heat. And we'll get you something to eat, alright?"
She looked horrible, for being so pretty.
Of course, the photographer side of him wanted to capture that beauty that shone through the sadness. But anymore pictures of her and he was screwed.
Not to mention how rude it would be to snap pictures of her looking as hurt as she did.
"Ooops," He snatched the camera.
"There. Sit."

And down here from the ground, I see who you areSo it was Jon? Even after she was sure she hadn't been entirely sure, just because it was so odd. And for him to find him here after yesterday...
Kori bit her lip as he started to ask what she was doing there, but ended up getting out of his car before finishing the sentence, making her feel even less obliged to answer. Because she would have had to lie if she did.
See, the stupid thing was, as he took her hand to lead her back to his car, she let him, only grabbing her bag with the other hand as he did.
When you thought about it, it really was a stupid thing to do. He seemed nice, but after yesterday... Well, he was still a stranger, and he had been kind of weird in the book store, and then even after in the deli.
And yet, she didn't feel so apprehensive, not even as she got in. Of course, she was cold and he had heat, and hungry at that.
"Um..." she mumbled after they were both settled, "Thank you... but I... I'd like to get warm, and then I um, I really should go... it's so early, I'm sure your out here for a better reason...." well, unless he was stalking her, but hey, even Rick said he was alright, and she had known him for years.

Jon shut the door carefully and walked to the other side.
Once he was sitting down in the front seat he set the camera in the back gently and cranked up the heat.
"Err," He scratched the side of his head rather cutely, though not on purpose. "I was only heading to the store to grab something really quick.. its not a big deal really. I have another forty five minutes until I need to be back to my place." He cleared his throat and put the car in drive.
Jon looked her over, she looked so torn. So hurt.
It was almost like a mirror, though at the moment, she seemed to have it way worse.
"You sure you're not hungry?" He looked over at her again, before glancing back at the road.

And down here from the ground, I see who you areKori was sort of against eye contact right now, just because everything already felt so awkward... or did it? It was odd really, that she felt so comfortable. Maybe it was more like she thought it should feel awkward.
But despite that, she still glanced over at him, just as he was scratching his head. You know, that wild mess of hair did seem familiar... But that didn't mean anything. Kori knew there was nowhere she could know him from. Simple as that.
And then she felt like she was staring, and looked away as he started to speak again. Sooo.... he didn't have anywhere he had to be right away?
She was tempted to ask why he had to be at the store this early, but she didn't want any return questions, so she refrained.
"Ya-" a low growl, "Maybe..." she mumbled, looking down with a light blush. Kori did look a bit paler then usual too, which made the blush stand out all the more, even with such limited light.
This really wasn't right though... Even if he didn't HAVE to be anywhere right away, it was so early, and he was only going out of his way for her. She was enough trouble already without making even more people deal with her.
And he was so... soo.... nice? Yeah. So he would probably say yes to things he didn't really want to do. Kori knew that feeling. All to well. Another reason she didn't want to make him do anything for her.

Jon smiled at her. And as she blushed, it was practically shining off her face.
"Its really no big deal. Was gonna stop by Mickey D's anyway.." Okay. Maybe not. But he was kinda hungry now.
Okay. Food now..then store.
But what if he didn't have time after eating..? He had to be back by the time she started to get restless or she'd freak out.
Okay.
Store first.
"Lemme just drop by Wallie's and then we'll go grab some food, mmk?" Jon smiled sweetly at her as he switched over to the highway and cut into a lane.
The roads weren't scary empty, but not exactly crowded like they would be in about two hours.
He pulled into the lot and flipped on the radio.
"You can chill in here." He smirked. "Ah, just don't freeze." A small wink before he hopped out of the car and headed inside.
He grabbed a box of Audrey's favorite chocolates and a single stemmed rose before grabing the other oil she never put on the list. He looked back a the rose rack and found a smaller flower too, purchasing it as well. With cash.
Grabbing two Starbucks coffee's before heading back to the car, only fifteen minutes later.
Jon slid in the seat and smiled, handing her the cold coffee and the smaller flower.
He set the other things in the backseat and put the car back in drive, heading off silently towards the yellow arch.

Which she supposed rpobably really wasn't that far from where hers is... was... is.... eeeh.
She didn't want to think about it.
This was a good time to live in the here and now.
"You really don't have to..." she still found herself saying, still feeling bad about all of this.
"I mean, you kinda already got me lunch yesterday..." oh yeah. That was weird, but she definitely appreciated it. Actually, she wanted to pay him back, but doubted highly he would take it.
"Um, k" she said as he went to get out, and then wow, almost cracked a grin at his lame joke. It was cute though. She needed such silly humor. Really needed it.
And then when he was out, she got an idea. Really, after all this, she just had to pay him back, going out of his way for her when he had no reason to.
She pulled out enough money for the lunch yesterday, and a couple more, for what he was going to get. Yeah, she figured he'd insist for that too, but she wouldn't just let him, even if he thought so. No, she stashed the money somewhere he was likely to find it, while she didn't think he would until sometime after she left.
Then she waited, and leaned back, closing her eyes.
When Kori opened them again, she was looking into the mirror above the seat, her sad, cold eyes looking back at her.
She was startled when the door popped open, was he done already?
Kori had jumped when the door opened and glanced over. And well, a flower being given to her. That was the LAST thing she expected.
"O-oh, what um, what's this?" she asked with obvious surprise.... blushing... again.
She almost missed the coffee put into her other hand, despite how the warmth filled her.

Jon smiled over at her, despite her blush. "That would be a flower ma'dear. Gardinia to be exact." The small white flower was only specially sent in from Mexican Countries every so often.
Apprently, they were in bloom.
Now, Jon, he didn't know much about flowers. But he photographed a few times in Mexico, and they seemed popular enough there.
So, he learned a bit about them.
Thinking of that, he needed to travel back there soon.
If uh.. Audrey wanted to of course.
"And thats coffee. Drink up." He popped the lid off his cold version and took long swig of the bottled Starbucks.
He switched lanes.
"I would take ya somewhere nicer, but McDonalds is fast.. ya know.."
Why did he feel the need to impress this girl?
He had Audrey, and she was definatly hard enough to impress as is. Why waste charm?
Because.. Well. Someone had said that if you weren't making someones life better, you weren't living.
He really couldn't seem to ever make Audrey's life better, he was never enough. But this girl, she needed fixing.

"Thank you, really" she murmured, and smelled the flower. It was nice.
"Oh right" the coffee!
She could definitely use some of that. She flipped the little flap of the plastic top up and took a sip, instantly hissing, ow, hot!
she breathed on her tongue, blushing yet again and let out a nervous laugh.
"Guess the hot label doesn't help much if you don't read it" oh wow, was that supposed to be a joke?
She shook her head though, "No no, this is fine, it's so early in the morning anyway, and you've already done so much...." and where was he gonig to drop her off?
He would probably want to take her home... but....
Ah, who was she kidding. Kori wasn't ready to be alone. She had enough trouble making it when she wasn't.

Jon smiled as she looked down at the flower. "Ha. Yeah." His eyes were lingering a bit too long on her.
And at that realization he averted back to the road as he pulled up to McDonalds. "Guess not huh? Thats why I usually opt for the cold coffee."
He smirked as he drank down the last of his, rather quickly. "Nope. Already here see? So, What'd ya eat?" He ignored the bit about the store, he was feeding her first.
Why? Because.. uhm. Well. He didn't really have a valid reason. He shouldn't be doing this. But he was.
And it was stupid. Because if Audrey ever found out...Wait. How would she?

And down here from the ground, I see who you areOk, soooo.... The coffee, and the flower... and Kori forgot they were still going to get FOOD. Especially since she still felt bad that he was going out of his way to do this for her, and so early in the morning. Particularly after what he already did yesterday.
"Oh uumm, maybe an egg mcmuffin, with real bacon, if that's not too much trouble?" Kori asked a little timidly.
Yeah, so, she didn't like Canadian bacon which wasn't really bacon, which is what they put on it if you didn't specify.
Although, she was usually kind of afraid to be "difficult" with her orders most of the time because Miah got pissed that she made them take longer, and she knew she should be happy with what she got but like, maybe this one time...
She was looking down a little as she said it, fidgeting with her hot cup of coffee, but looked up at him as she said it, her blue-grey eyes settling directly on him, but only for a moment, before she was looking passed him.
It was hard for her to look anyone in the eyes. Jeremiah always took her face and tried to force her, and whenever she did, it scared her.

Jon smiled. "Of course. That Canadian stuff sucks," He pulled into the drivethrough and up to the machine box thing.
"Hello, how may I help you?"
Ugh. Too early for anyone to be nice apparently. Because this dude sounded like, hungover and pissy.
Probably was too, knowing this place. Not that he had anything against McDonalds workers, just that he knew this one in particular had interesting characters.
"Uhm. Yeah. Can I have an egg mcmuffin with real bacon....and.. actually make that two. And could I get a hugo sweet tea?"
"Mhm. Your totalisffsf.."
"Did you get any of that?" He smiled, shaking his head as his eyes caught hers.
Jon then cleared his throat and continued around the building. "I'm sorry, how much?" The guy shot him a glare before telling him, Jon handed over his credit card, having spent his cash yesterday.
Then he continued on to get their food, from an older lady before pulling into a parking space to check it.
Okay, looked good to him.
He grabbed his food before handing Kori the bag and pulliung back out of the lot.
"Okay, where to? I am not randomly dropping you at some store so that you can get stranded again," He was driving, pretty well too, while unwrapping his food.
Suprisingly, he was still a good driver. Normally, he wasn't allowed the privlage of driving. Lucky he got to ride passenger and not in the trunk most times.

And down here from the ground, I see who you areYeah. Kori wasn't exactly expecting a smile, though not a blow up either like she might have been. Still, it was hard getting used to how completely and utterly different Jon was. Ya know, considering Miah rarely let her within 30 feet of another man, and then only on his arm as a trophy.
And then that was always his friends that were... um... not quite as... pleasant... as Jon.
Kori realized after a moment that she was completely over analyzing everything. But could you really blame her?
"Huh?" she looked up as he turned to her, asking something, then blushed a little, looking back down at her lap before their eyes could connect for long. It made her blush every time.
They finally got their food, but Jon checked it to make sure it was all right she assumed, since that was something she was used to.
"I won't get stranded, it's close to my apartment. I just need to pick up a few things before going home." She almost went on, to explain what she had been doing on the park bench with a lie, but just stopped. He wasn't pressing her, she didn't need a story.
As she said it, she had opened the bag and pulled out her food, inhaling the smell. Mmm.
