Stephanie sighed. "Yeah, I know.. especially me.." She shook her head. "Its just harder when you have a kid, and everything just kind of sucks right now. Between getting to know my parents and everything.."
Not to mention work.
And the fact that she cleaned out her closet and found an old cardboard box that she was not going to think about right now!
"Yeah, that reminds me though.. I should call and check up on Hayley.."

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James nodded at that, yeah, he had a lot to do at work, but she didn't just have work, she had her kid, and her parents, which were kinda almost like finding lost siblings rather then parents really, with how they acted.
"Yeah, I know. I think it's too much stress, that's why we should do something like this every now and then!" he said, getting an idea. Yeah! Like maybe go off alone for the weekend every other month or something, just to break everything up and spend that kind of time together. Much of which they could use doing things like this.
Then she mentioned having to check up on Hayley...
"Oh not yet babe" he said, almost a whine, holding her a little tighter.
"It can wait a few, can't it? Like before dinner, when your getting ready..." which they should do soon, but he was so comfortable, he didn't want to move, or have her move, just yet. ..And even when your hope is gone

Stephanie just half-nodded at his idea. Every other month, leave her daughter with two people who were more irresponsible than her so she could ******** her boyfriend?
That just sounded lovely.
"But she's sick James, you know that." Not that she really wanted to, but she wiggled out of his arms and picked up her pants, looking for her phone.
"Dammit,"
It was nowhere in sight.
She emptied the contents of her bag.
Nada.
"s**t, really?" And her parents had just gotten cell phones, and their landline shut off. She didn't have their numbers memorized yet.
"Where is it?" She was flinging s**t around and mid-throw she realized that she left her phone in her car.

Landon really smiled then, happy that she liked it. Like... it hadn't been overly expensive, but he didn't have the highest budget right now, and especially with doing something like this.... So really, 200 for a genuine diamond necklace was a good deal! Wasn't it? True, he didn't really know much about Jewelry...
"I'm glad you like it" he said, then nodded, "Of course!" she even took the other necklace off so he could put that one on her. He hadn't known she was going to wear it right away, especially when he noticed she already had a diamond necklace on...
He moved around behind her as she swung her hair out of the way. e took it out of the box which he sat down on the table beside him, and unclipped it, taking an end in each hand and bring it down over her head, to her neck and clipped it back in place, having a little trouble with the ring thing. But then he had it there.
"There!" he announced, grinning still, as he came around to look at her. It really did seem to work perfectly. And that was when he noticed she wore the charm bracelet! Another plus!
He took a step aside and gestured to her seat that was still out, "After you madam" he said with mock courteousness.

Move along, move along like I know you do.. True... But it wasn't anything really that bad, just the normal flu... but he didn't protest anymore, well, only groaning slightly as she wriggled out of his arms that didn't give much.
He closed his eyes, splaying himself out on the bed, then he opened them, looking over at her quickly.
"What is it??" he asked with concern, seeing her urgency.
It took him a moment in this state, but then he figured out that she must be looking for her phone as she made a mess of things trying to find it, and seemed to have no luck at all. Definitely not good.
Then she stopped all of a sudden.
"You alright babe? Do you know their numbers?" he asked, sitting up and inching toward the edge of the bed. She would probably freak and wanna drive right back if she couldn't call. He didn't want that! But... Damn! ..And even when your hope is gone

"No I don't know their ******** numbers! You don't need to memorize things when its all there and saved for you in a phone!" She cried out.
This was not good.
"Which means, if something bad happens they can't get ahold of me.. And what if Hayley spikes another fever? They don't know what she's allergic too.. what if she needs to go to the hospital? I mean.. so many things could happen. I need my phone."
This was bad..
Stephanie was hipervenolating and stumbling backwards, away from the bed.
"James, what if she like...oh god," Of course, she went straight to the worst case scenirio.

As soon as the necklace was on her neck, she dropped her hair, and attempted to put it back to where it was before by feel. He came around and looked at her, in which Kaitlyn just smiled. There wasn't anything else to do really. "Why thank you kind sir." She said, giving a small curtsy before taking her seat.
Adjusting herself slightly, she looked back at him. "Well... Love, since you got me something. I got you something too." She placed her purse in her lap, and she thought of a way to say it.
"Except this comes with a promise, or a new beginning. You know my job at the gentleman's club." The one that he hated so much. Well... this gift is a promise that I won't step foot in that place again."
She took out the small box and place it on the table near him. "It's also kinda like a promise ring, in the fact that I will always love you.." She said, a little bashful of course. Her cheeks slightly turned pink as she thought about everything she said. She had two part time jobs, the gentleman's club and well as a photographer. But now she was only a part time photographer as well as a mystery job she is about to tell him.

Landon grinned as she curtsied before sitting down, which was when he went back around to his side of the table and sat down.
Huh, well, he hadn't expected her to have anything for him too.
"Oh really?" he asked curiously, wondering what it could be. He never was one good at knowing such things. People said he was hard to shop for when it came to presents- even though he never just expected anyone to get him anything.
She didn't get it out yet though, whatever it was, but it must be in her purse which she took up.
After that, Landon listened as she explained further, now he was really curious.
And excited.
"Really!? That's great!"
But then he also added.
"You don't need a gift to show you'll always love someone" he said, smiling though, for he was still anxious to find out what it was and would appreciate it- and the thought behind it, regardless.

Kaitlyn smiled at him, pushing the box towards him with the watch she got. "Well I know how much you hated that place, and disliked me working there." She didn't like working their either, but it gave her more then enough money that she needed. "And it doesn't matter. You know, out of sight, out of mind. To keep me on your mind, and remind you that I love you." She may be acting a little silly, but how can she help it. It was hard to be serious around him, but then easy at the same time.
Her feet slipped out of her shoes she was wearing underneath the table. And knew that it wasn't the time yet, but she would need to use her feet during dinner, just cause she wanted to.
Her eyes flashed up to him, "It's not as impressive as your gift. But, still... It was all I could think of that would fit. Your hard to shop for, unless it's clothes, which this is not." Obviously, since the box was so small. She glanced up at a waiter as he came in and got a bottle of wine and their dinner set for them. It smelled as good as it looked. "Yummy..."

Landon bobbed his head slightly as she pushed the box toward him. Of course he hated that place. He never wanted to think of her working in such a place. It was degrading, to say the least.
"Out of sight, out of mind? You have to know me better then that love. I don't need an item to keep you on my mind." Yeah, that was definitely not the case, not now- and not those years ago either... Er... Anyway, that didn't mean he wouldn't like it.
He smiled a lopsided smile as he went to open the box. Rolex. And though he wasn't much of a watch guy, looking at it, he thought it might be just about time to start wearing a watch. Ha, unintended pun. Hilarious Landon.
He pulled it out and flipped his wrist over, clasping it on the other side, then pulled back to look at it.
"This is very nice, and now I'll have even more trouble concentrating in med school then I already do" he said with a chuckle before looking back up to see the food being brought in, or rather, out, and wine mmm.
Landon reached across the table and pressed his hand to Kaitlyn's for a moment, before pulling back and grabbing the wine bottle to pour for them himself.

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James rose an eyebrow as she cried out in more then just frustration. But well, he kinda expected her to freak out, still though!
He stood up and went over to her, "Babe, calm down. Just because they can't get a hold of you for a day or two, doesn't mean something bad is going to happen. She's been fine the other times."
His eyes widened, she was hyperventilating! James put his hand to her back and turned her around, then holding her shoulders.
"She'll be fine even if you don't have your phone, just like she would be if you did have it" he said, having really no idea how to make her feel better beyond this.
Dammit. Something always had to ruin things...
Although, at least they had had this little bit of time... but really! It can't be over yet! He was silently begging her not to suggest they go home just because she didn't have her phone. It was something she would do. ..And even when your hope is gone

Kaitlyn did know him better then that, but she couldn't help it. It was just something she wanted to do, and it made her feel a little more at ease with herself when they weren't together. The constant fear that he was going to find someone else that was better then her was always in the back of her mind, though she had learned to tune it out for that past few months. And this made it all the more silent.
"And why is that?" She asked as he poured them some wine, oh boy were they going to have fun tonight. Not like she was a heavy drinker or anything, just a little gets her to be even more silly then she already was, but even more serious when she was with him, strange, but true.
"A watch can't distract you in class, or at least, it shouldn't." He has to pass, because that's what he wanted to be, and she thinks it's sexy of him to go into that kind of profession. Of course she thought a lot of things were sexy, this was just one of them.

Stephanie shook her head. "You don't understand." She was breathing heavier.
"You don't have a kid, its not easy. She's sick. And what if this is the one time that something happens and I'm not there for my baby girl?"
James was holding her how, by the shoulders. "But what if she's not James? What if.. What if something really bad happens?"
And this was extreme but,
"What if I lost Hayley? What if something so bad happened?" She threw herself into him, holding herself to him and crying softly. "You promise me she's gonna be alright?"
She whispered, against his chest. "I'm sorry James.. you know she's the most important thing in my entire world right? She's my life. She changed me.. fixed me, ya know?" Now she was just rambling.
"I love you. I'm sorry.." She promised herself she was gonna cut lose.
Now she had to.

"It's just the flu, even your parents can handle that just fine." He said calmly. She really was overreacting, even though James knew where she was coming from.
His eyes widened, "That won't happen babe" he couldn't really promise, though could he?
But then she seemed to be calming down, that was a good sign.
"I know honey, she'll have fun there like she always does, and we'll have fun here, and then you can go get her after laugh about how silly this is" he whispered cheerily, trying to cheer her up.
As he did so, he stroked her hair and let them sway a little as he held her.
They really did need this. Bad. And it looked like they would stay.
