"Ah.." Alette had watched closely with an interested eye as Farran conjured the smoke-colored glasses and took his time to collect his thoughts. It was not something she was new to, a man requiring a moment to gather himself in her presence, but it was slightly uncommon. It marked this one in particular a class ahead of the rest, at least, in gentlemanly affairs. When he spoke of questioning she hesitated, knowing full well there were means that they could use discern the truth of the goings on and, if they did so, they would deprive her of exacting her own, personal, sweet, vengeance.

So she took to a slight quiver in her voice when she spoke next, fearfulness or nervousness, and her oddly-colored eyes clouded over. "I do not tink any t'ing I could recall would be much 'elp to you or your comrades, monsieur. She pulled back slightly as well, even less willing to be going along with this group than she was truly letting on.

The insight to Cayley's simple but logical statement found Chrys pausing, her eyes searching the room of all the faces of those muggles before her, and her gut clenched. How was it that she had not thought of it that way, was it a selfishness or a cowardice that had kept her from finding the reasoning? She waited a long moment before hopping down from the bar top and brushing off the seat of her pants, avoiding eye contact as she did so (perhaps out of a shame of not having thought of all those that needed her care more than those in St.Mungos), and reminded herself to breathe after all that time.

"Thank you, Cayley, I.. did not think of it that way." Her voice was somehow cowed, or simply quiet, but when she did look up it sported a smile. "Perhaps it would be best if I sent my own Owl to St.Mungos once we've gotten to wherever it is we're all going?"

You had so quickly become we, a subtle but strong definition of her decision to accompany them.

User Image Kade slowed his mad dash across the sky as his suntail hawk patronus approached him, followed by another unfamiliar fox patronus. From the fox came Ronyo's voice giving the orders to return to the fortress.

High in the sky Kade banked to the left, heading to the fortress to find out what had happened.

Feigning a small amount of hurt, tinged with a smidgen of real hurt to make it believable, Farran let loose a small huff. His shoulders might have fallen a bit as well. Aside from those small matters, he otherwise remained stoic and composed. Yet another adjustment of his glasses followed a brief moment, perhaps the only nervous tick he allowed himself though it was not much of one, as his smile momentarily disappeared and grew back strong and confident. The confidence and smile both touched his clear voice, "Then perhaps you would consider it a boon then, for myself at least, to accompany us to our headquarters. After such a harrowing event, I would be sorely remiss with myself for letting you go on your way without at least some manner of aid or protection. Who knows what other vile enchantments they may have cast upon you? Perhaps they may still be after you for this fortunate escape?"

Without sparing much energy, Farran's minor swivel of his head and the turn of his eyes regarded the unconscious wizard. He felt a mite sorry for the chap, Farran would have struck out too if someone had just busted into his home... Or wherever... Still, he did spell an associate... "There is also the matter of your would-be rescuer. Aside from undoing the damage to both parties, we will still need to question this unlucky fellow here. Nothing too serious. I don't we'll be dipping into the potion stores. But we will have to check wands in confirmation..."

Farran was trying to be as upfront as he could possibly be and even if his memory failed in certain respects, he was sure he had covered all the basics. Not to mention, he did mean what he said about not wanting to let victims go before a post operation threat assessment. And certainly not another lovely creature such as this one, "So what shall it be, Miss Alette? As I said, I would be quite remiss with myself to let you out of my- our sights so soon after such an event!" Catching himself mid-word without a hitch, it would be hard to tell if it was a deliberate mistake or not. So confident was he in his delivery, it was like he had not even missed a beat.

The mention of confirming Vraun's wand with what she assumed would be his identity and the recent spells cast caught her ear and caused her to pause. The pause was quite evident, though the cause was not, and she feigned no emotion while she muddled through a swift barrage of thought. If they did discover the wand and his recent spells cast then there'd be undeniable doubt that Vraun had attacked her, as he had, and though he had used no unforgivables (those had been cast through her own wand) they would still clearly collaborate him with whatever story that witch in the alley could provide.. if they found her. Of course, that had to be how they arrived, after all. A base like this didn't go undetected for months to be suddenly stormed by a group of spell swords..
She could claim that he'd been under the cruciatus curse, or that she herself could not remember anything previous to their arrival, but as she continued on with the lies it would become more and more evident that she, herself, was hiding something and, obviously, lying. Then they'd question her, discover the truth, and she would be robbed of her revanche.

Alette pursed her full lips then, a distraction from the pause she had taken to responding, and batted her eyelashes at Farren winningly. “Ah.. did you find monsieur's wand?

An innocent enough question, but one that would be the deciding factor in her next actions. She'd have to be quick, and merciless, but luckily enough for her conscious she'd never had issues being both.

Farran caught the pause and the swift change. He was not as blind as most. Not by a long shot, but he had no one particular reason or thought yet to tie with the pause. He himself did not let the question go unanswered for long as he smiled, genuine enough to fool anyone, "We did find it and it is well on its way already." Not a single bit of it was untrue, even if it was a misdirection. The key to lying is only telling half of the truth. He himself had taken it off the man as the wizard had been propelled into and past his elbow, concealing it within his book. Where it would be safest, in ink. Without skipping a beat, he quickly started them moving, "Now, let us away. I shall assume your evasion of my previous inquiry as passive assent."

The reminder of the event cause him to think back to the curses the man had flung. Farran could not stop himself as he took up his sword cane again and take a mental accounting of his own spells and what he had seen. He still had his own Protego Horribilis in place, but Kali's Protego was likely spent. Or rescinded for his latest actions.

Still, with a wave of his cane, he laid a quick and silent trace upon the man's form. Gifts and boons from his spellbook, locked to his form. Containing such spells as to allow him to track apparates without prior traces, but a trace always helped. He disguised another upon Alette as he pointed the way with the top of his cane, "After you ma'dam?" The blade only slightly showing from his earlier remembrance of the possible entrail-expulsion that could have happened to Kali. He wanted to break that wand held in his book even now.

Kali was not a patient little spitfire by any means. She wanted to get back to headquarters and ream that wizard for what he tried to do, and whatever it was he really had done. Chrys would have to look her over unfortunately. Finally the entire group had returned to the entrance of the club ready to leave. An evil smrik crossed her innocent face. The tall beautiful woman would have to be temporarily blinded to keep her from locating headquarters. She briefly wondered if Storm would condone the Caecus Jinx or Blinding Spell....after all it was only temporary.

"Cap? Might Ah suggest a Caecus Jinx on our....victim" that word rolling suspiciously off her tongue. She was starting to doubt their victim was anything but innocent, "After all its removable by a medi-witch and it protects the Keep."

Alette smiled coolly and faux-sweetly as the american witch spoke, masking a cringe at the jumble of words that came out in an accent she'd never been fond of, and raised a hand to smooth out her hair as she spoke. "Ah.. and ah will zen be at ze mercy of yew all..."

A mock pout struck her features as she produced her wand, raising it to her own eyes, and said, "Ah can manage my own hex, merci beaucoup."

She tapped the long, curled want then against her temple and they glazed over with obvious blindness. It was a cute, almost charming, manipulation of the conjunctivitis curse and rendered her completely sightless... for an amount of time. This she could lift herself, when necessary, and not rely on their graciousness.

To avoid the unsettling sight of her white orbs she lowered her long lashes and then replaced her wand where it was most safe and handy - in her ample cleavage.

"Well, now zat you are accompanying un inconscient and un infirmité ah trust yew are satisfied wit' a job well done... along wit' a club of muggles laying in ruins." Delivered with the same sweet smile as before she didn't expect nor care if a retaliation of her barb was delivered. If it was she would shrug it off easily, as she could like no other, and if it didn't then she would simply maintain the slightly satisfied smile upon her face.

Chrys had heard enough. Thought she recognized this woman from the alley well enough and looked sweet enough she sounded more like a viper than a flower and she was holding them up. The cleaning crew would be here soon enough and she was intelligent enough to know that it would be better for them to not be here.

Slipping off her make-shift seat on the counter she did one last sweep over the room but it was unnecessary. Cayley was a highly skilled young witch and, the two of them working together, seemed to have gotten everything settled and ready for the ministry. Her steps were silent enough, and she was slight enough and used to being overlooked because of it (after all, who payed all that much attention to sweet, innocent looking children) and she was behind Alette in but a moment, her wand raised to the back of her neck.

Before the french witch could breathe a word of shock the woman slumped before Chrysanthemum onto the floor. A silent, numbing spell, soft snores could be heard from the woman that was now in a heap before the young nurse and she pocketed her wand with a display of calm that may have been unnerving. She was indifferent to it, of course, having dealt with enough unruly patients at St.Mungo's to become quite proficient with a 'dope' spell, and it was done.

"Let's get out of here, shall we?" She said in verbal agreement with her long time friend, Kali, as she stepped over Alette's form and headed for the entrance to the club. "I don't suppose anyone has a spare broom?"

Fortress

User Image

Gage had been training for a few hours and was waiting on the return of Ronyo Storm and his crew. Training was cruel, it made the young man lose all sense of time. He trained hard all day not making much time for anything else; the only other thing he made time for was eating, in which he scarcely ate a thing. This grueling training was starting to wear Gage out, but non the less, he kept at it.

After receiving his Spell Sword and being notified he was to stay at the Fortress, until called upon, made him half crazed. Maybe this was why he kept training so much, or was it? He didn’t know, hell, he didn’t even know how many hours had past since Ronyo left with the newer recruits. He was just pissed that he wasn’t able to go on their first ‘official’ mission and he had a right to be, didn’t he?

‘Darn it, Ronyo, what’s keeping you guys so long…’ He thought as his vision started to fade again. ‘I need to rest for awhile…’ Gage suddenly fell to the ground with a loud thud, and within seconds he was asleep.

Few hours, maybe even days later…

“Where am I?” Gage said aloud as he awoke in a warm bed. He stands up and see’s that a note was left on the dresser next to him. He picked it up and began reading…

Note
Dear Gage,

I saw that you had passed out and decided to bring you to the ‘bunks’. I hope you sleep well and by the way, you talk in your sleep, so I was able to know what was on your mind. It’s been almost seven hours since Ronyo left and he should be returning soon, so don’t kill yourself like you have been over the past few days. When you wake up, go eat and train a little, not too much since your body can’t handle it now. I wish you luck friend.

Sincerely,
The Forager

Gage had merely skimmed over the note, but he got the point, he had pushed himself a little too far and he needed more rest. He slid the note into his pocket and grabbed his wand and spell sword from the side of the dresser. ‘Let’s hope they return here, safely…’ He thought as he exited the room. As he walked down the hall he seemed to remember nothing from the previous hour, but what he did remember was his way around the fortress. He made it to the dining hall and walked in. He grabbed a few snacks and left, not feeling very hungry, the only thing on his mind was Ronyo and training.

Things seemed to have quickly come to a almost anticlimactically. They had entered with such a force and bravado to make a striking first impression that all the energy seemed to have been carried off already. Ronyo looked around to see his team and the new pseudo members getting everything back into working order and finishing up with the majority of the muggles.

'Maybe the clean up team was not needed after all, but always good to be safe.'

"Alright everyone I think we have done all we can here, and we need to see to all our guests. We will apparate to the place we left our brooms. If anyone is in need of transportation at that time I should be able to take a passenger and I'm sure others can do the same."

With that Ronyo brought his mind into focus and fixed on the location they had first come from. The same place they had left their brooms before making their oh so grand entrance. The leader of the Spell Swords locked on to his target and then left the area with a sudden pop. He made the trip first so others could use the trail that connected apparition points to follow along.
