"I-I believe that this war is pointless, as no one remembers what caused it. There is really no major difference between Angels and Demons, only the color of our wings," Lucia said, slightly hesitant. She didn't know what was gonna happen.

Isamu smiled. "Hmm . . . " He turned back to his desk and pulled out a knife in a rather elaborate sheath. He walked over to Lucia and pulled the knife out of its casing, slowly. He flipped it so the handle was toward her and handed the knife to her. "Do you know what that knife is?" He could tell by the look on her face that it she didn't. "That knife bears on it the royal crest of the angels. It was a gift to me by my lover." He took the knife back and placed it in his desk.
Irura leaned forward. "That would be Princess Kasumi."

When Isamu handed her a knife, she looked at it. She could clearly see a symbol with what looked like angel wings on it, but she couldn't tell what the rest of it was. When she heard about Isamu and Kasumi, she was surprised yet again. Isamu...the prince...and Kasumi...the princess... she thought as it sank in.
((That's as good as it's going to get. Sorry. sweatdrop Writer's block sucks.))

Isamu smiled as he watched her reaction. "I've been trying my best to move events toward a peaceful conclusion, however, my affair with the princess can put things at risk. I would like to ask for your help, if you would give it?"

Hikari smiled as the kiss was placed on her cheek. She watched as Hei headed over to the man, only to come back and seemed slightly dejected. " Perhaps we could go look somewhere else? " she said, pondering on where they would go.

Hei nodded his head, smiling as he took Hikari's hand in his. "Yeah... Let's eat her first, ok? This place may seem a bit dank, but it's not that bad." He winked and moved his thumb along the back of her hand, hoping it reassured her just a bit from his hold alone. He knew the place looked run-down. Hell, it was a tavern. Who knew how many fights had happened here. There was one thing that people needed to learn though. Places like this almost always had good food. Soon, a waitress came around and set two plates down before them. "I know it's the afternoon, but..." He looked down at the food; scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, and sausage links. He was starving and wasn't sure if Hikari was or not, so he'd gotten quite a few things. "Hope it's fine with you..." he said quietly, praying that she liked this kind of food.

((Right! I'm finally posting. Decided to abandon my original post and make a new one. Durban59-, heads up - Nafi's meeting your character.))
"Thank you! Come again, dearie!" The shop bell tinkled as Nafi pushed the door open, holding a large cloth bag in her hands. The smell of herbs and chemicals wafted out from the shop. "I will," Nafi promised, smiling at the old demon who ran the alchemical store. She let the door swing shut behind her and walked out onto the cloudy street. Nafi shifted the sack in her arms, hearing the tell-tale clink of large glass jars. Thank god for the current fad of alchemic experimentation. Most of the demons here barely knew sulfur from zinc, but their hobby meant that it was increasingly easy for her to find ingredients for her potions and creams. I still have over three hours to walk to get home, she reminded herself, and sighed. Renge had decided to act responsible for once and take care of the children along with the miller's wife a few houses down. Nafi had offered to let her come along, but the young fox demon had adamantly refused. It's a shame - she's missing out, Nafi thought, looking in a shop window to see chocolate as delicate and detailed as jewelry. Her stomach grumbled and she winced. Then again, maybe I shouldn't be window-shopping when I don't have the money to buy anything. She cast her mind over her options. There was a small loaf of bread and hunk of cheese she'd brought - no, she'd had that for lunch. Or she could pay for a meal here. Nafi walked a couple streets down to a cheaper district and glanced at the prices in the nearest restaurant. Her eyes nearly bugged out. 10 gold for a chicken dinner?! Cheaper, my a**! Nafi chewed on her lip for a while, wondering what to do. She was still hungry, but she only had some silver pieces and an assortment of coppers. Unfortunately, none of the things she'd bought could be eaten. And everything here was too expensive for a poor healer... Wait. There was a tavern about halfway home, right? With an inn attached? They would surely have more reasonable prices. Nafi nodded to herself. Right. I'll go there. Mind made up, Nafi turned around and promptly ran into a young man emerging from an alley. Both of them fell. "Ow!" Nafi yelped as she hit the cobbles, only narrowly avoiding a passing carriage. Her sack bumped to the ground. Suddenly fearful, Nafi checked that none of the jars had broken, and was relieved to find that none had. Then she turned her attention to the boy who had run into her. "What's the matter with you?" she snapped. "You should watch where you're... going...." Nafi trailed off, aware of how dirty and ragged the boy was. His face was pale and drawn, with deep shadows under his eyes, as though he hadn't gotten a proper rest in a long time. Doesn't look like he's had a meal in a long time, either, Nafi thought, evaluating the boy a professional eye. Probably malnourished. Her eyes met the boy's. And scared. Nafi got to her knees and offered her hand carefully to the boy. "Are you okay?" she asked. "My name is Nafi."

Isamu nodded. "Then I will give you your first mission under my command." He said smiling. "As well as a sample of your pay." He gave her a small sack of gold. "I need you to procure for me a way out of the city for a few days." He turned to Irura. "Irura, the council will be breaking for a few days, I need you to find other demons with the same delima."

Lucia nodded. So I secure a way for him to get away for a while? Piece of cake! she thought, though she knew it'd be harder than it sounded.
((Eh...I guess that will work. I keep getting distracted, so I can't make it any longer. Curse my ADD! *Shakes fist*))

Irura nodded an acknowledgement and turned to Lucia and smiled. "OK, shall we get busy? Welcome to the Prince's Royal guard."
Isamu went back to his desk and pulled out the book that he was reading.
