"Messy arnt we?" she coyly said handing Kirk a Napkin.
"A guy?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Well, He's waiting on me
And he must be miserable..." she said taking the last sip of her coffee.
She eyed the curious man. With a comment like that, of course he must
have been wondering what she meant by it. Janice leaned back in her chair
and took a deep breath and continues. "My mother picked him for me."
Her gaze fell onto her lap and she fiddled with her fingers.
"Like every mother, She wanted the best for me. Sadly her concept of
'the best for me' is rather twisted..." Janice went on to Kirk Explaining
how her mother wanted her to settle down, get married, and have kids
while she was young. Even though though It was against Janice's wishes.
After explaining how she one day got home and found them both sitting
in her living room waiting for her how she loathed her mother.
That mental slideshow ended as she fixed her eyes on the captain.
"Poor sap probably thinks we're getting married when i get back..."
She forced out a smile and hope she didnt scare the captain away.
Her mother was out of it.
She had fixed her up with a son of one of her many rich friends.
'Financial Stability is better than love'.
She remembered when her mother said that to her in the kitchen.
That was the day Janice had signed up for Starfleet.
