So we must begin as a maid and eventually earn our way to geisha? That sort of ruins my plan a little bit.
I was wondering, when we become geisha can we change our character's name? I originally thought I could start as a geisha, so I made up a geisha name and then decided not to use it when I found out I needed to start as a maid. Will I be able to change and create my character's name when she becomes an apprentice?

Therefore, pick your name and stick with it. ^^

Alright, thank you. I'll probably just drop the last name when I become a geisha.

Do you mean IRL or in the guild?
In the guild it really doesn't matter what you wear since not everyone who is a geisha or maiko has a kimono and vice versa.
In real life, maiko and geisha both wore kimono in that day and age. Of course, the type of kimono, the color of the collar, the type of sleeves, etc, all differed to denote maiko and geisha differences, but other than that *shrugs*...

Do you have to take another test to become a maiko once you have posted enough?

Um, when I posted my profile after the okiya placement test, I accidentally put my aim screen name instead of my gaia screen name. Now my profile has the wrong name. Is there a way to change this?
