Sargent Jacob Masterson
Cartographer room
Harvest

As the commander left the console the marines formed up behind him. As Jacob took up his role as tail end charlie he heard a noise that was unfamiliar to him. This sounded like an owl moving through the air by way of anti-grav engines. He turned on his heel to face the noise. What he saw baffled him. It look like three bars of forerunner alloy attached to a blue light floating about 20 feet from Jake. "Commander Hammer. I believe we have company." Jake yelled as he raised his rifle. As he did so 12 more of these bizarre machines rose to join their friend. "Now I know we have company." Jake said to his team. "Zulu, form up! Acquire targets! DO NOT FIRE until fired upon!" The orders flowed effortlessly from the Sargent, command had grown on him. The devices just floated there waiting for somthing. Jake held fast waiting for the first sign of hostility.

Edwards, Daniel | Major
UNSC Amnesty of God
Harvest | With Commander Hammer.

As the floating lights beamed over the hall, scoping out the men and woman who were now quite surprised that sentinels were in this installation. Considering the last people to come here never had such trouble. Major Edwards had never seen them before, and his first reaction was to take out his sidearm, run forward and empty the clip towards something unknown to him. The M6G fired as fast as he could pull the trigger. He got excited as one of the, dropped suddenly and exploded on the ground.
"YEAH!" He was of course, an idiot, because the others locked on to him and fired their beams into his chest. He screamed like no other had ever heard before. It was brief, he dropped to the ground smoking. He was still alive, and the Sentinels saw this. He could still survive, but they didn't want this. A sentinel fired its beam at full power across the waist of Major Daniels, he screamed once more which cut out instantly.
He was dead. Cooked and cut in half. His eyes were staring at Commander Hammer, as if asking for help. But it was to late.

>| Sergeant | Morrel , Tom
>| Locate: Forerunner Structure | Engaging Unknown Foe.

Sergeant Morrel was the last to react, taken in by the symbols and was only broken from his trance by the Major's Screams. He Whipped out His M7 Caseless and Opened Fire on the Sentinels for a few seconds the draw thier fire, then Ran like ******** was running his fastest in a long time, most likely breaking the world record. But currently he couldn't give a rats arse, he was just focused on not getting BBQed.The Majority of them shooting at him, allowing the others to open fire and kill them.
He Shouted at the top of his voice. "SHOOT!!!!! I'M NOT DOING THIS FOR FUN!" Then finally a Beam hit his leg, sending him hurtling into the ground, He hit it and rolled, just dodging the death beam from a Sentinel. He Still had his SMG and put the rest of the Clip into an already damaged One Knocking it out of the Air, and sending it plummeting down a chasm.

He noticed a Sentinel with it's beam charging aimed at him. Everything Seemed to Slow down, Looks like they were right when you were about to die everything stoped. Then The Mentioned Sentinel got hit straight in the Laser Part by a Sniper, One of his Snipers had just saved his a**. He was glad he didn't make them go out in the Cold Now. He rolled over to the edge of the platfrom and hit a small barrier made to prevent falling into the chasm. He felt the heat of a Sentinel beam hit his cover and exhaled. He was Having a Bad Day so Far, he was alive and that was good.

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: Cartographer
Status: Engaged with numerous hostiles

The corporal ran to the edge of the platform, huddling up against a wall to use as cover. He noticed a pair of the forerunner machines come up from behind the computer itself, and cursed loudly as he pulled the trigger and unleashed a hail of projectiles upon the hostiles. He let off the trigger after a full second of fire and was shocked to see the device still floating.

He rolled to the side as a beam streaked up towards his previous cover, before haphazardly emptying the rest of his clip into the hostile machine, finally bringing it down. He looked around for the other once for a moment before assuming someone else had brought it down. He started to reload his assault rifle when another beam came down and severed the gun in half vertically. The corporal frantically crawled out of the way and drew his side arm before quickly standing and started firing. As the rounds neared their target however, they were blocked by a translucent blue ovular field.

"God dammit some of these things have shields! After that our weapons do jack anyway!" The corporal yelled, trying to bring down the sentinel that was ignoring him to kill another poor b*****d who decided running for it was a good idea. The machine severed his leg just as he got to the bridge and letting him fall into the chasm.

The machine then turned to face him again simply taking the magnum fire with no worries. "DERR'MO! Get this thing off me! Otva'li clank!"

(I'm tempted to shorten this, holy s**t man (you see, this is the kind of s**t that happens when I make too long of posts))

Suddenly several gun shots could be heard. The squad quickly turned to look towards where then others went. "Delta move out!" said the sergeant as everyone ran towards the bridge. As they came out of the main hall. Akari noticed the commander and the other marine squads being attacked by some sort of machine. Quickly several other sentinels flew past Delta squad heading towards the commander. Captain Stone then showed up with the other squads. "Whats going on!" said the captain as he noticed the commander and the other squads being attacked. "All squads! Give cover the commander quickly!!!!" yelled the captain as everyone ran towards the bridge. The six squads then gathered at the other end. "Fire!!!" yelled the captain as everyone shot a volley of bullets towards the sentinels. Several sentinels fell and crashed as they were hit. "Commander Hammer! We must fall back!!!" yelled the captain to the commander. The squads were busy trying to keep the sentinels off the captain and his squads.

Captain Omar C. Jacobs
> UNSC ARMORED PRAYER [AP.ACTUAL]
>> Bridge

The lack of communication from the ground teams was unsettling. Satellite coverage of the area showed movement towards the supposedly derelict structure. The fact that the dig teams had been able to enter the facility so quickly was originally a welcome surprise. Now though, he felt it was a little convenient and reeked of a trap. Hammer had either made a bad call or had run out of luck, because something had gone wrong. That much was certain. The Captain opened a COM channel to Alpha Base, maybe they would have some way of explaining what was going on.
"Alpha Base this is AP actual, what's going on down there?"
Nothing but static filtered through from the other end of the line.
"Baldur is there something wrong with our communications array?"

"Negative sir. All components are operating at 100 percent."
"So why isn't anyone picking up? Has something happened to Alpha Base since last contact?"
"No sir. Scans report that the facility is fully staffed with the exception of the Commander's Team."
"Well either our signal is being jammed or they can't be bothered to pick up. Baldur, check communications with the Amnesty of God and the Ardent Wind. I want to make sure they can hear us too."
"Already done sir. Our communications systems are not malfunctioning. There is an energy field emanating from the buried complex. It seems to be jamming all signals entering the planet's atmosphere."
"Understood. Bring the ship to Combat Alert Alpha and prep for Pod launches. Activate the point defense systems, if anything comes our way I want to know about it yesterday."
"Aye aye sir."
Klaxons blared and strobes lit the hallways. The remaining Marines prepped for Combat and the Bridge lights faded to a warm red. Jacobs stood above the situation table and leaned against it. This was going to be a long day.

Sergeant Anthony Lipton
> 405th Marine Infantry, Fire Team Charlie
>> Harvest, northern polar ******** it."

Lances of shimmering golden energy cut through the frozen rock and snow like a hot knife through butter. The marines of Fire Team Charlie huddled behind the remains of their pulverized M12 light reconnaissance vehicles. The robotic drones scoured the air above them, searching for something. Lipton shouldered their remaining M19 Jackhammer launcher and thumbed the firing stub. The Tube shuddered and a plume of smoke erupted from the rear of the weapon. The missile knifed through the cold air and struck one of the Sentinels dead center. The 102mm shaped charge warhead sent fragments of burning alien robot skittering into the hard packed snow and ice. The other Sentinels, now aware of the imminent danger, flocked like vultures to the carcass of their dead comrade. One turned about and spotted Lipton, holding the launcher and wearing a grin. The damn thing was just floating there, staring at him. The Marine Sergeant felt all bravado leave him and he cycled the tubes. The Sentinel fired a beam of concentrated energy and cut the launcher in half. With a yelp that he would never have liked to admit to, the Sergeant fell back behind the Warthog's charred and twisted frame. So far the heat signatures of the warthogs had shielded them from the Sentinels, though he had a feeling that the floating machines just didn't consider the Marines a threat. Some third tour this was. Get sent halfway across the ******** galaxy to get your a** shot at by a flying alien tinker toy.

Corporal | Carlson, Alexander.
Harvest | Entering Relic Hall

The sound of a sniper rifle echoed throughout the Forerunner structure, and a sentinel exploded in mid air. He took out a few more as his fellow squad members took to cover and he followed suit once he thought it was safe. His sniper was steaming hot, he reloaded the rifle and peeked out his cover. He saw one of his squad mates head become a burnt meatball from a sentinel beam. He shoved his sniper into the marine beside him and took the SMG.
"Excuse me private." Running out and firing at the sentinel that killed his friend, he screamed at the top of his lungs. "DIE YOUR ******** HUNK OF MENTAL!"
He destroyed multiple sentinels until he tripped over a dead soldier's body, which saved his life from a beam of energy that went right where he was going. That was a wake up call. He double backed, and swapped back for beloved sniper.

"Sorry you had to see that."

Sergeant Morrel Crawled towards his squad, his leg flaring with pain. Why is it that the only time i don't bring Biogel with me i get ******** hit? After a good minute of crawling his leg was starting to stop hurt which he knew wasn't good. It was going cold and numb and he started panicing. His Squad was covering him though he wasn't sure if he would make it so he stoped a talked down his earpiece.

"Damnit! Fall back, I'll be Fine!" He was obviously lieing.

They stayed, intent on protecting the person that had saved them so many times before. Morrel Sighed, knowing even if he threatened a court
Marshal they would stay to help.He Crawled forwards again, blood pouring from his dead foot.Although he hated to admit it, he knew it would take an extremley Skilled Medic to save it. When he reached them he was shaking all over, going into shock, he was well a truely Screwed. He rested aganist one of them as they went up the exit ramp. Ahead of them were two sentinels and a burnt out warthog. His Squad opened fire before rushing to the warthog, hoping to find cover.

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: Rear of the retreat, Forerunner structure
Status: Combat ineffective

The corporal scooped up another weapon off one of the poor fallen marines on the path and emptied what was left in the clip at the machines behind them. He had only been carrying one extra magazine for his sidearm, and thus was no limited to using the guns of his fallen comrades. While he wasn't one to be superstitious, he still felt there was something wrong with the act.

Dropping the spent SMG the corporal grabbed the marine's sidearm and an extra mag, before rushing to catch up with the commander, the green monolith being a beacon signifying at least relative safety. He then noticed that they had made it to the rest of the forces that had come in with them. It wouldn't be long till they made it outside. They could board the warthogs and get the hell away from this killbot filled deathtrap!

Private Lance Sikes
Status: Falling back
Location: Inside Forerunner structure

Lance quickly lifted up an injured squad mate and lifted him into the warthog as one of their medics checked him. He noticed another warthog riding out towards the entrance. But the sentinels shot their engine as the warthog's hood lit on fire. "Watch out!" said the sergeant as everyone dunked as it blew up. "Get in the warthog private!!!" screamed the sergeant as Lance shot his last clip at a sentinel as it fell. He then jumped jumped inside the warthog as he sat at the end. He then closed the trunk as everyone took off. He managed to find a clip in his pack. But as they came along a bump the clip fell out of his hands and landed on the floor. "Damn it!!!" yelled Akari as he then placed his MA5C on the weapon magnate on his back. He then grabbed his M6C and loaded it.

Name:Sargent Jacob Masterson
Location:Silent Cartographer
Status:FUBAR

"Zulu! Covering Fire!" Sargent Masterson yelled to Zulu team as he ran for the fallen Sargent Morrel. The swarm of sentinels swooped around the cartographer frying soldiers left and right. Morrel's squad had formed a perimeter around their CO. Jacob leaped over the fallen sentinels while dodging the the gold beams of the sentinels weapons.
He slid between two of the marines to get to Morrel. "Sargent, I'm Jacob. I'm going to help you. Nod if you understand me." Jacob said in his best EMT voice. Jake opened his med kit and retrieved his bio foam and vital reader. "Stick with me Tom." He said as he set to work. He stuck the nozzle into the Sargent's wound and pulled the trigger. As he did so the can injected the foam based wound sealant into the tract. The vital reader told Jake that the Sargent would be fine until they returned to base.
"You'll be fine Marine. Get yourself to cover." Jacob said as he drew his M6G and looked for another struggling marine. Zulu followed giving him cover as he moved to the next wounded soldier.

>|Sargent | Morrel , Tom

Sargent Morrel grunted as his team moved over for someone. Masterson? Or At least he thought it was. He didn't know and he must have lost more blood then he thought he had. Jacob asked him if he could hear him."Load and clear." He cringed as The Sergeant Injected the Foam. He hated biofoam! The feel of it,the smell of it and what it did just creeped him out, he just couldn't stand it. When Masterson had finished he stood up and grinned at him. "We'll cover you and anyone coming out of the structure from here, i wanna get back at those Alien Techno s**t."

He Grinned as he poured all his water over the Fire on the back of the warthog, where the turrret was. After making preferable Sniping position he sent his squad out to the Inwards Offence Position that gave them a perfect view of the Exit Ramp.

>> NAME: Hammer, Michael R. | UNSC NAVY O-5
>> Excess of Dormant Cartographer, Harvest, Epsilon Eridani

The Commander was actually a bit shaken up after seeing the look on the Major's face. But of course, he got over it, because he needed to get everyone back to Alpha pronto. He ran, stopping occasionally, and shouted the order to retreat back to Alpha Base. He was amused and proud to see some resilience, but also now in a furious mood to get everyone out safely. Captain Stone and a few squads were ahead to provide cover as they exited. Calling the man over the COM, all Hammer received in response was static. Looking behind him, he noticed no one, and ran after the last marine to pass him.

Moments later, his attention was caught by the screams of one final squad. Taking it upon himself to cover them, he ran back to do so.

You know you are going the wrong way.

"No. Everyone is getting out!"

The squad ran passed, with smiles on their faces for a brief moment, knowing their Commander was looking after them. He took down two sentinels, while another went over his head. He turned firing at the sentinel, which almost killed one of the marines before blowing up. He followed them, keeping at their pace, turning every so often to kill a sentinel that had caught up. He

Just as they got out into the cold tundra, the structure started to cause what seemed like an earthquake. No one knew what was going on, but they preferred not to stick around to find out. Marines scattered about to warthogs, many warthogs drove off with full load of marines, some didn't stick around to get a full load. Cowards. But the Commander would stick around until the last, which he was on, driving away from the structure. He looked back to see many openings appearing over the hill of which the structure is built in.

"This can't be good. Angel, make sure the camp is destroyed."

Done and done.
