Aurelia nodded and brushed her whiskered human face.
"I shall protect you with all my lives, and I am not one to go back on my word once it is given. Though I dare not speak for Duna, I am more than confident he can give the same," she replied, flashing a fanged grin.

Well, then, let's do this, those things are getting angrier by the second, and I, for one, don't like it. - He remarked, a slight frown of disgust on his face, and a slight nervous tone in his voice. He started cncentrating on the shadowlinge before him, trying to focus and will them into ammassing on one part of each body. Normally the spreaded out, he saw, but it was easier to rip them out when they were amassed in a single lump. What he saw instantaneously horrified him. They were everywhere.
He had not expected this, a total control of the body. He thought it would be like when he expelled the shadows from Lili, but it wasn't. Every part of their aura, except for maybe random specs, was black, moving, ozzing around them. Needless to say, the sight was terrible. He needed to start quickly.

Kitrine felt sick immediately, like something was invading her body. She didn't like it, yet it was comforting at the same time. She could twitch her pinky! That may not be much, but she could move something, which made her happy.
GET THEM OUT! A voice was shouting in her head. She fought with the voice. Hope was getting her to fight harder. Hope. She liked that feeling.

Lili flinched as the things came flying towards her. Not knowing what else to do, she focused, trying to seal the thing in a barrier, but it was too huge. Nonetheless, part of it was being held back by a huge, shell-shaped thing. She thought, hoping that if she could even seal off part of it, it would help. focusing her energy on the part that had come out from them. But it was still too much.
"Rey...!" she screamed in panic.

Rey had to focus on purifying the elves, but he knew his priority. - Lili! Hold on!
Mother Earth! Envelop her in your warm embrace! Stone Barrier!
As soon as that was said, Lili was separated from her threat by a thick stone wall, which would hold the creature back until he rushed to her aide.

Lili was panting. "Rey...we can't stop this, we have to seal them even if it's a danger to us...but, why did they have to be like that?"

Aurelia pounced on the mass of darkness, her claws, glowing with magic, shredded the beast, but more were coming.
The fool, he must not let his feelings interfere if we are to defeat them before it is too late. She closed her eyes.
"Rey, concetrate on healing the others! You must focus your energy!!!"
Her eyes shot open and dialated, her golden eyes glowing with an unworldly stare. Her voice grew deep and resonated in ancient cat languages "Golden Mother, bearer of life, Darkened Father, yeilder of power, hear my will!"
Her golden hair began to glow, and the light grew from her into an orb around her little body. She stared, unblinkingly at the mass of darkness, until-
"INCINERAAAAATE!!!" Her word drew out into a deafening roar as the orb burst forth into blinding white flames, darting among the shadowlinge near her. They were now nothing but ashes.

Kitrine felt the prescence of the darkness fade away to nothing. Soon she could see, she could move by herself. Her first act with all of this control was to drop to her knees to catch her breath, then to pass out. But she was happy. At least she was safe for now.

Rey was slightly startled by the Scolding from the Catling, but he knew she was right. He continued his task, quickly focusing his power until he was nowhere to be seen, as he was sorrounded by his energy. He had never done anything similar. As he wondered what to do next, he saw the bodies each drop down from the levitational hold of the shadows, as the lay on the floor. Resting or dead, he did not know. He decided to take action, only knowing one thing: - This is going to hurt...
Here I go! Mass Purification!
And as he spread his own energy, he felt himself losing consciousness, as the pain was almost unbearable. He refused to scream, thinking it would be as giving into it, but once the light shone, the wave stunning the shadows and purifying the rest of the living being in that area, the only thing remaining, his body, fell to its knees before falling flat on the ground.
Damn it.... I was....right...

Lili, still shaking, did her best to focus and seal off the mass of shadowlinge. She stood and smiled slightly, panting.
"Well, we di...." She collapsed onto the ground. "...d it..." she finished, smiling even though she barely had the strength.

Back in cat form, Aurelia's fur was matted with a cold sweat, and her body ached and shuddered. She watched as the others fell to ground to rest, but only her pride and will held her on her feet. She began to clean herself immediately, licking off dirt and persperation.
Her comrades would be able to take care of themselves, so once she was finished, she meandered through the others laying unconcious on the ground.
So many are lost...May they live in eternal rest.
Lia's ears perked and her back arched. She smelled something out of place. Swishing her whiskers to the side, she looked down at a young elfing. If her smell was not as keen as her people, she would have guessed the little girl a male child. It was still alive, and instinct lead her to curl her warm body up on the little one's chest and rest, keeping them both warm and safe.

Kitrine felt warmth around her as she felt her body awaken. She just had her eyes closed, for all she was really doing was resting. Her eyes cracked open. She saw a catling, but her mind was too tired to really care. It really was very soft. The fur, anyway. She absentmindedly started stroking the closest bit of fur to her hand as she drifted off to sleep. She felt safe for some reason unknown to her and didn't mind sleeping, even after her ordeal.

Lia saw the hand coming, but decided to set her ego aside for the moment and let the little one be comforted. She was thankful though, when the elfing drifted off to sleep and the petting stopped.
Sitting up, she called to the others.
"Perhaps we should make camp rather than return to Kazemira's home. It'll be easier to take care of the living here, and less work on our own weary bodies. Rey, could you find strength enough to summon a stone shelter? And Lili, a nice fire? I shall go hunt for a meal."
Lia stepped off the child and slinked towards the woods. She hesitated, though, as she reached the edge of the town.
"Please...look after that child for me," she called over her shoulder, and dashed off into the shadows.

Rey was exhausted, but stone walls were no problem for him. And fires were something he was good at starting. He shakily got up from where he lay, slowly summoning walls around the elf child. He looked a lot like an elf himself, since all that was showing of his dragon heritage were his scales, and since they don't shimmer, they looked like skin from afar. He always reverted to this form when he was left with almost no energy.
As he was done building the shelter with stones that jutted from the floor, he proceeded to clear the space for a fire. With the deed done, he slowly and gently carried the elf girl and settled her down in front of the shelter's entrance, close to the fire.
Now, where's Lili... - He wondered, lazily looking for his friend. He found her few feet from where he himself had fainted. He wondered how he didn't see her sooner. He carried her and placed her close to the fire, but careful not to disturb the girl. - It would be strange if they woke up next to each other, so it's best not to put them too close... - He thought, tired enough to sit down next to the fire. He looked at them, both sleeping soundly. - They're kind of cute, both of them. - He thought with a smile, as he laid down to sleep.

Aurelia had had no trouble into tracking and hunting the three rabbits and two squirrels she now carried on her back. She had heard a gurgling stream, and settled on rock to gut and clean her catch. Pulling out an older knife, she proceeded to skin and clean the animals in the water. Her nimble hands quickly wrapped them in supple pine branches and beech leaves, then folded them into their cleaned and stretched skins.
Cleaning the blood off the golden fuzz of her human skin in the stream, Lia tossed the skins over her shoulder and headed back to the elven town. She would stretch and dry the skins there, where her watchful eyes could easily guard them.
She was pleased with the shelter Rey had quickly constructed, and the sleeping elfing and she-dragon by the roaring fire. Leaving the meat by them, Lia picked up a pot and waterskin from a wrecked house nearby and returned to the stream. After filling both, Lia returned to the camp.
"I located mint, willow, chamomile, chive and rosemary while passing through a meadow," she said, setting the load down and wiping her brow.
"The rosemary and chive will help season the meal, and the others will help brew a healing tea," she explained, beginning to boil the water.
"Would you unfold the meat strips and set them on large, flat stones to cook on while you sit and rest? I'll season them when I'm finished with the tea."
