Goosie looked deflated. He didn't seem convinced...

"...I don't know." She said, sullen, and she looked off toward the facility, "...I think she's probably just gone off to cause mischief somewhere else now...or worse."

She turned back to him, lowering her gaze somewhat and biting her lip. She felt a slight pang as she thought again about Raven's claims...but juxtaposed with her attempts to seem like she was innocent, they were, somehow, even less convincing. Honestly, who would give her a, what was it, an elixer, anyway? Oh, the whole thing was ludicrous. It sounded exactly like a lie Raven would cook up.

...But she wondered if Tobias would think so too.

The girl seemed to brighten noticeably, even smiling. She stepped over to his side, taking a seat on the rock nearby and staying quiet for a moment as she took another look around.

After that brief pause, she looked at him again, taking a moment to peer at his profile. Then she spoke up, "I'm really not crazy, I mean...um, I dunno..."

Sighing, she looked down at her hands, smoothing out her skirt a bit. A thought occurred, and she looked back at him again, quickly asking, "So where did you come here from? What's it like?"

She smiled at him. He had a nice laugh.

"I've never heard of it, but that seems like it'd be nice. The only desert I know about is Terra, but it's not as cozy as yours sounds." Goosie said.

The girl looked off again, contemplating where she'd grown up. Nothing special had ever happened. She didn't really love or hate it, now that she thought about it. She just kind of nothing'd it. Her family had been happy to see her go off to G Corp, and she'd long-since stopped touching base with them. She didn't really know why, but that didn't bother her. They'd known she was going to lose contact eventually, she reminded herself. At least, ...nah, they'd known.

Lost in her own thoughts, she found herself staring at a couple of colorful leaves as they got caught in the breeze and danced about one another, eventually meeting up with the grass and getting trapped in it's grasp. She tilted her head a little. What was her mother's name, again...?

His voice drifted in, interrupting her thoughts. She looked at him again, smiling faintly.

"I'm sorry," She said, "To me, this place is home...so I don't really feel like anything is missing."

She paused, considering Raven, Evijan, Koth, and added, "Well...maybe some things that don't belong, but nothing that's missing."

"Exactly." Goosie found herself saying.

She balked a little, adding, "I mean...yeah...I have. I know things are kind of crazy around here, but..."

The girl stopped again, looking over at him and smiling.

"I don't know. I guess what she said has kind of gotten to me...she's so scary..." Goosie said, deciding she may as well be out with it, as she looked back down at her hands "Like a day or so ago, she was trying to kill me...Evijan was just gonna let her. It's like none of that happened now, the way she's acting. She just showed up as if out of nowhere, after not having any signs of life for so long, and then she set those zombies on us...and now she's...I don't even know...but I should really tell Doctor MK about this."

She feigned a smile, though she felt it important to reiterate, "You just haven't seen the real her yet...maybe you don't believe me completely, but..."

Goosie sighed a little, adding, "Most of the time, this facility is my favorite place in the world, but there have been days where I thought they were my last, and...ugh, I just wish she wasn't here. I can't feel safe...I can't do anything without this horrible feeling like someone is spying on me or planning terrible things."

The girl clearly seemed upset as she finished explaining, almost on the brink of tears, even, but she turned her face away before he might catch a good look. The last few days were catching up with her again. All of the fear, the mean things, and the confusion that Raven was causing...

She had to agree there...he'd managed to make sure nothing bad happened last time, right? He always stepped in when things got scary. MK was her safety net. She smiled a little, wiping her eyes and looking back at him.

"Y-yeah...--Oh! I never told you what I do here, did I? I'm on the seventh level too, I work as Doctor MK's lab assistant." She said, feeling sheepish again as she added a hasty, "So I try to make new members feel welcome as sort of a side-task, though there's been an influx lately...I should probably try to give them a proper welcome too. I'd have invited that, um, well, that girl along, but I wanted to explain the whole freak out thing..."

She laughed half-heartedly, not meeting his eyes, "I guess I didn't quite get a proper chance this time either."

Goosie looked at him for a moment, flushing and stammering an awkward "W-well--I only meant to--"
