Iri's eyebrows had shot nearly to her hairline when she heard Syn yelling. First off, she was surprised to see the girl there. Also, she was going to have to scold the girl for her language!
To keep Syn from drawing any more attention to herself, Iri puts a finger to her lips in a silencing gesture. Then she motions for the girl to join her next to the dojo wall.
As she waits for Syn, Iri brings her attention back to the masked man. His warning doesn't go well with her. A low growl issues from the avian's throat. Bad enough that this one's creepy as all get out, but to threaten the students, too? The thought makes Iri's feathers fluff out in anger.

Syn sees the motion and nods, her face turning serious for a moment before she smiles and strolls casually in the middle of the standoff, paying no mind to any techniques going off around her.

Seph's eyes widened slightly, then he began to chuckle. He shook his head sadly at the newcomer. "The strange one's always pop up eventually." A sigh broke his lips as he flicked his cigarette in the general direction of the redhead. As usual, before hitting the ground, it caught flame and burned to ash.
"Originality should be a virtue."

A large sweat drop rolls down the back of Iri's head in true anime fashion. As she watches Syn just walk across what some would call "no man's land", Iri can feel her wing twitch. She couldn't run? She couldn't even sneak around to get to Iri? No, she just walks right through the middle of it, in plain sight, just after the creepy mask guy talks about abducting students. So the runt is sassy as well as a schemer. Wonderful.
Whether through illusions or stunts like this, she will be the direct cause of the early heart attack that kills me. My luck bites a**.
Sighing, Iri calls her energy into the air and plucks a fan from her belt. A small breeze picks up around her person. If anyone tries anything that might endanger the girl, Iri's got her back.

"SOo.. you are looking for that a** whoop'n."
Kaimen said cracking his neck.
"BOOM SPIRE!"
The ground under Bao's face shot up immediately in the shape of a balled fist on an arm, aiming to deliver a powerful uppercut to his jawline.

The earth fist made contact with Bao as he flew up into the sky from the powerful punch. His body was deformed, as if it were mud, the physical form of Bao turned into sludge.
The real Bao seemed to spawn from behind Kaimen from the roof's tiles, as if it were a Genjutsu.
His opera mask was still in a gleeful expression.
"The warning has been given, good luck to your Academy."
Bao's form deteriorated back into the roof's tiles.

Kansou's machete chaotically bounced across the roof as she threw it clumsily where Bao had just been.
"I wanted to fight!"
She suddenly tugged at Kaimen's shoulders, gun still in her left palm.

Kaimen moved back and fourth a bit before disarming Kansou, then using the gun to point at the bush where the child was hiding.
"Go fight someone else, there's work to be done now. If anything, keep an eye on some of these people, we may have to kill them."
Kaimen threw the gun up into the air, at the same time, preforming a handseal that would allow him to travel underground to his office.

Kansou casually caught the pistol, then violently jammed its butt into the roof tiles Kaimen had just been. She frowned in exasperation.

The girl gleefully made it to Iri, turning to watch as Bao disappeared and Kaimen pointed the gun to an empty bush, raising an eyebrow as she looked back at Iri.
"Was he talking about me?"

Iri winces and smacks her own forehead with a wing elbow. Then she puts the wing back in place and looks at Syn. She still hasn't left her crouching position.
"Don't freak out or anything, but I'm afraid so. I don't know if you realize it or not, but you've been the source of some trouble. Please don't ask me for details. I have none. All I have are guesses right now."
Sighing, Iri gets to a proper standing position. She looks tired. And worried.
"You heard that guy, though, didn't you? You may not be a student, but you're a perfect target for someone like him. If I were you, I'd be watching my back."

"...Have you ever tried to watch your back, Big Sis? It's hard. Your neck doesn't want to bend all the way..."
Syn turned her head as much as she could, her eyes trying to stretch over her shoulder so she could look at her back.
"I can see my obi, but that's about it."
She turned her head back to Iri with a carefree smile, pressing a tiny hand against the spot on her head that she had just hit with her wing, bopping her again.
"The black man... Kaimen? He wouldn't kill me. And Mr. Drama wouldn't be able to use me as leverage. The only one I'm not sure about is the lady with the guns..."
Her smile fades as she points up to the rooftop, looking at Kansou. She turned her attention back to Iri as her smile beamed again.
"Jii-Sama made sure I was smart about these things! It's easy to tell what a person is thinking."

The expression on Iri's face had gone flat. First with exasperation. Of course she had meant "watch your back" in a metaphorical sense. She's pretty sure Syn got that concept, though. The runt just wanted to be difficult. Second, her face becomes flat in astonishment, the difference being her eyes get a little wider.
Narrowing her eyes a little, Iri bends over so her eyes are even with Syn's purple orbs. She pinches the girl's nose between her index and middle knuckles and says, "You're definitely not normal. I was a smart kid at your age, and still I was never this smart."
Iri lets go and straightens back up. "Anyway, just be warned. If you stir up trouble, things may not end well. Just be careful."
Violet eyes stray to the point where the masked man's apparent clone had been. She looks thoughtful. "Hmm... Might wanna see if I can beef up the Kaze Dojo's security. Maybe figure out a way to do some surveillance. Or..." She's muttering to herself now, not loud enough for anyone else to hear.

Syn pulled her face back as Iri pinched her nose, grabbing at it with both hands.
"I won't be any trouble. And I'm not weird. I'm just smart."
She purses her lips and nods sharply, half-listening to Iri as she walks back around the corner, and points straight at Seph. When she speaks, Seph would hear a chillingly familiar voice as the small child speaks, though her last words seemed to echo from the back of his mind, making him unsure if the kid had actually said them or not.
"That's a terrible habit, thief-sensei."
She pointed straight to his cigarette, then turned back to Iri, wondering if she was going to come around the corner any time soon.

Kansou took a deep breath, slipping the gun back into its holster. She made no motion to retrieve the machete. She was already bored of that weapon. It would not be much use against Bao, anyhow. After glancing quickly at the persons below she sped off in the opposite direction, dislodging a few roof tiles in her wake.
