Raquel blinked blankly for a moment, again at a loss for words. She swallowed a bit, looking down again. After a moment, she regained eye contact with him, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. She pulled him until he was directly in from of her, the brought him close, kissing him roughly at first, then gentling up, releasing him slowly. She looked at him for a long time, feeling as though that was a mistake. "...." She seemed on the edge of words but nothing came out. After another moment of silence, she looked away her eyes watering up. "I'm sorry... She said quietly, gently pushing him from her and sliding off the counter, gathering her things and disappearing to her room.

Damian stood there in a complete state of shock for a good ten seconds before reality slapped him across the face. He should go after her. He had worried about her for all that time, hadn't he? And besides, he had promised to make sure she was alright before she went to sleep every night...
And so, Damian practically sprinted after her until he found himself in front of her door. "Raquel?" he called out softly, with a little knock. "Raquel... I'm sorry, I did not know that would make you upset... please, are you alright?"
Lorey heard this commotion from across the hall. Her little stockinged feet brought her to her own closed door, to which she pressed her ear flat against. What was going on? she wondered. Oh, she wished Richard was there so she could feel a little better about this whole thing. But, what Raquel had made her realize was that she had been on her own for the longest time, and didn't need Richard to validate her. He was wonderful, yes, and she loved him, but she was still Lorey. Still didn't mean she wouldn't want him there, though.

Raquel had the door locked and trued her hardest to ignore him. Why was she so upset? Things were always so intense between them, she just wanted t o- But that would make things far more complicated...and she wasn't sure what that'd do between them. Would it bring them closer, or make it feel more like a one time affair with no heartstrings attached? She couldn't bare to think of the second choice. She had lived it too many times. She tried to put these things out of her mind as she threw her bags into the closet. Though she caught a glimpse in the mirror near her. She didn't look like a prostitute at all. She looked...like a lady. Not really thinking, Raquel opened her closet door, and pulled out the extravagant green gown Damian had bought her. She held it up to her in the mirror, smiling softly as she envisioned herself gliding around the dance floor in Damian's arms. Though that's when she realized- It would never happen. It was an empty dream...Damian would never take her out and show her off. She was too jaded, and besides how much you dressed her up, she'd still b the filth he picked u p on the street. She tossed the gown on the bed, almost angrily. That's when she realized she couldn't take this anymore. Rummaging through her bags, she pulled out a clingy, silky like teddy, stripping her clothes to slip it on. She then slowly walked over to the door, unlocked it, then set herself down casually on the opposite wall to the door. Her eyes were diverted, waiting for him to come in. "You hired me. So do what you want, get it over with, pay me, and I'll be on my way..." She said coldly, her slender yet lovely body being almost illuminated in the moonlight.

"Raquel, what are you talking about--" Damian's voice cut off as soon as he opened the door and caught sight of her. A seductress by trade, he thought. This is what she was before he found her, beaten upon the ground... nothing more than a one-night thrill for the man who wanted to pay for it. Had it not been for the coldness in her voice and what she had said, Damian would have been incredibly tempted. But that was not the purpose of this show. Raquel... he was losing her before he even had her.
His face lit up red as he turned away, his eyes frantically darting to any part of the room but her. The green dress upon the bed. Why was that out?
"For heaven's sake, put some clothes on. That isn't what I wanted from you..." he said, wishing she would put on the dress or something to erase the image from his mind. The one where Raquel was the prostitute, with no more hope than Lorey had when he cast her away.

Raquel stood angrily, getting in his face. "Isn't it!?" She demanded, an angry dark tone taking over her voice. "I can read you Damian, and you want it!" She shouted, getting even closer to him. Her whole body was tingling madly as she forced him to look at her. She couldn't figure out why she was so angry. Maybe it was because she wanted Damian to just treat her like a normal customer. None of this feelings or emotion crap. She didn't know how to deal with it and it terrified her. She wanted to just let it all go and feel numb again.

"I can't hurt you any more than I already have!" He found himself shouting right back at her, despite all of his efforts to be gentle with her thus far. There was something enraging about how she wouldn't just let it go, how she wouldn't just accept that he was being kind with no strings attached. "I won't, Raquel! Now either put something on or I shall assume that you do not wish for me to see you off to sleep tonight." Damian backed right off, turning around once more, more out of anger and frustration than the wish to give her privacy.

Raquel's eyes flashed angrily but almost in a hurt way. She realized that she was crying, becoming angry that she was. She seemed more angry with herself now than Damian. "Just...Go...." She said quietly giving him a gentle but firm push out her door before slamming it in his face. "I don't need you...I don't need anyone..." She cried softly to herself, barely above a whisper. She leaned back against the door, sliding down to hug her knees.

For a split second, Damian raised his fist to bash against the door the had been so swiftly shut in his face. Doors were never shut to him, not to Damian Centurion. But to that shut door, another one opened, revealing a very scared-looking Lorey.
"What's going on?" she whispered, her big blue eyes reflecting the dim light of the hall lamp. Damian looked into those eyes for a second before sighing. He couldn't properly explain any of this.
"Disagreement," he murmured. Lorey nodded as if she understood, and for a moment, they both stood in the hall in silence.
"Well, I... hope you two work it out. Good night." And with that, Lorey was back in her safe isolation from the problems of others. She always hid when people were fighting when she lived back in her apartment. Now, just because she was living in a very nice home, it did not mean she would give up her old ways.
Damian, though, was adopting new ones. Instead of angrily storming off like he did after suffering an indignation, he decided to sit with his back against Raquel's door, gently sliding down as he had heard her do before Lorey had come out for such a brief moment.
"Raquel," he said, softly. "I'm... sorry, for getting you caught up in this. With me. I understand if you don't want to stay here any longer..."

Raquel heard him and hugged her knees tighter. She said nothing, but simply locked the door again before standing. She stripped off the teddy, throwing it roughly across the room, sticking with a pair of short pajamas and a t shirt. She curled herself into bed, hugging a pillow tightly as she cried. She didn't want to think she needed Damian. She had been fine without any assistance for years. She could do it again. Maybe she would be gone by morning...maybe she would stick around. She wasn't sure. All she was sure of was that she was exhuasted mentally, emotionally, and physically. She slowly fell asleep, tears still actively streaming down her face.

"Hell..." Damian stood up under the weight of all that had happened. He could never tell what on earth was going through her mind, or how she was going to react with anything that happened. It was utterly impossible to gauge anything anymore.
"Good night." The son of Centurion went off to his own room, but not before knocking softly on Lorey's door. "Lorey?" he called out, waiting a few moments before the door cracked open slightly to reveal her face.
"Yes? What's wrong?" she asked. It wasn't like him to seek people out unless he wanted something, and as she had nothing to offer, there wasn't much she could expect from this.
"Raquel... may not be staying with us much longer. I do not know what she wants, but if one day she should be gone, do not be surprised. I am only warning you, because, well, you two are friends and I am not sure if she would want to tell you in advance..."
"Damian, you're babbling again." Lorey giggled softly. But the news he brought had created a sadness in her eyes. "I understand... we talked a lot tonight. And we've both been through hell." There was a slight smile and nod on both sides before an awkward silence told them both to simply go to bed.
And that is what Damian did. Through the haze of the confusion life had thrown at him, he went to sleep, thinking of Raquel and Lorey, but mostly Raquel. He didn't want her to leave.

Raquel had managed to sleep a good half an hor orless before jolting herself awake. She found herself alone in hte large room, in a cold sweat. Trembling terribly, she drew her knees into her chest and tried to calm down. But it wasn't working. She cursed under her shaking breaths before standing. She found that she was a little light headed, and looking in the mirror, she was paler than usual. "It was just a dream...a horrid horrid dream..." She tried to calm herself down, pacing nervously. Finally it got to where she couldn't take it. She left her room, walking barefoot in the bright moonlight, to Damian's door. She hesitated a moment before knocking quietly. She didn't wait tho, for she quickly opened it, slipped inside before shutting the door quickly behind her. "D-damian?" She called out in the strangely illuminated room. The full moon shone brightly through the many large windows, giving the room an eerie yet beautiful bluish white tint. Raquel was quite a sight to behold in all of this. She stood in her little PJs, her now long hair tossed as she searched for him with sad, scared, teary eyes. She looked about 15 to perhaps 20 full years younger.

Damian lay in bed in what he considered his pajamas: shirtless, with black pajama pants and nothing more. His hair was still tied back, as it always was, all silvery in the moonlight. If Raquel had ever heard stories about vampires or their debonair ways, Damian cut the perfect figure while sleeping in the night.
At the sound of his voice through that night, though, he was no longer sleeping. Bleary-eyed and exhausted, Damian peered through the dark to see a long-haired woman searching for something. Raquel, he thought. Was she trying to steal his wallet away again before taking off? It was a bitter thought indeed, only dispelled by the sight of her teary state.
"Are you hurt?" he asked once sitting upright, not really knowing how she could have been hurt or who would have even tried.

"N-no..." She said in a very small voice, approaching his bed side. She seemed on the urge of breaking down into hysterics. "I...had a bad dream" She swallowed, looking up at him with terrified and wanting eyes. She needed him. She couldn't believe it herself, but she needed him. "C-could I....?" She stopped, suddenly felt foolish for standing there. She was a grown woman for heaven's sake. She was acting like a child. The moonlight started to dim here and there, as clouds began to gently move into place, casting interesting and lively shadows all around them.

Dumbstruck. Hadn't she just shoved him out the door hours ago? And yet here she was, standing in front of him, asking to crawl into bed for comfort... He'd be an idiot not to give it to her.
The covers were pulled back as he shimmied off to the side to give her a bit of room. Still fuzzy-minded, though, Damian wasn't thinking of any kind of awkwardness this might cause between them. "Yes, of course..." he said in a sleepy voice. "What happened?"

Raquel, sniffling lightly, crawled into bed next to him. grasping him tightly as she held herself in the fetal position against him. She didn't answer at first, he breathing just beginning to calm down. "I'm sorry...I really am. I'm so sorry Damian..." She cried softly, holding onto him as if he might be taken away from her. She wasn't sure of her dream at all. it was sketchy now, but still haunted her soul. All of her sorrows seemed to attack her, making her worst nightmares come true. She didn't want to think of how awful it was, she just merely tried to hold onto Damian's warm and comforting body.
