"That would be fun," Lin grinned, "And everyone would like that."
Especially Earendil and Tinuviel she was sure, and Daeron was fun. It was a pity it seemed staying itself in one area didn't do well for him, otherwise she would also suggest sailing.
"And Tinuviel could use the support too."

Daeron chuckled dryly. "You make it sound like she's breaking down," he teased Lin. "But yes, I'll try to come along. Just keep in mind, I can't know your schedule, when you're going to be coming back here or anything, and I can't stay in one place for more than a few days."
Which meant that the timing would have to be extremely lucky.

"I will, but if you do happen to be there in that really, really rare chance," she resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at him, "And I'm only saying this because Tinuviel is certain she is going to get invited by any lord who happens to be living in the city she's going to."
Lin had no idea what that was going to be like, and decided wanting to know was under the catagory of morbid curiousity.

Daeron laughed. "Yes, I can see that happening. I'm not stupid. I know my sister is beautiful ... though I'm sure it's more the position of future king that they're all after. And even if Ninako lives forever and never passes on the throne, she's still got wealth and status."
He sighed. "I wish she would just find someone who Mother and Ada would never even consider looking at. She'd show everyone up and hopefully he would be a good guy."

"Well if he wasn't a good guy she wouldn't marry him," Lin replied.
Which would mean it would probably be someone they wouldn't look at, not that Lin understood why exactly. She tried to get Vincent to explain to her, since she figured it was sort of like a clan thing. Vincent told her it was outdated and left her confused.
"And that is the point of the trip, well not really, but it was one of the excuses used... sort of."

Daeron was a little confused, and he raised one eyebrow curiously. "Sort of?" he asked. "What is that supposed to mean?"
He had been under the impression that the trip was more for Lin's sake than anyone else's, or perhaps to give Tinuviel time away from their parents ... what was she talking about now?

"Well... Earendil and I thought it would be a good idea for Tinuviel to go and see around the Southland. I mean, we both understand she has to get married, being High Princess she doesn't have a choice, but seeing the same guy over and over again is not going to help, nor are nagging parents. So... we wanted a suggestion of Tinuviel going traveling, except the offical reason why she's doing it is because she should see all the cities at least once. It's a tradition for all to be Queens to do so anyways."
She scratched the back of her neck, she hated to admit she had a romantic side of herself and blamed fully Raven for that. Honestly, if it happened it happened if it didn't it didn't.
"So that's the offical reason, the kind of hope is that without your mother and father there to insist that it has to be lords that see her, that maybe she'll run into someone she'll actually like."
Who knows maybe if they managed to ditch the guards it could be someone who knew Tinuviel before knowing she was a princess, but Lin wasn't going to hold her breath on that one.
"Don't tell Tinuviel, I know she's sick of the whole marriage thing, and we're not out to set her up with anyone. It's just a nice thought."
Hope... whatever... Lin swore her brain wasn't that full of mush.

A slow grin crept over Daeron's face, and he began to chuckle softly. "You're as manipulative as your father," he grinned. "And don't take that in a bad way."
He chuckled again, rather amused by the thought that Lin and Earendil had arranged something to everyone's liking but which was at the same time rather mischievous.
"I think it's brilliant."

Lin chuckled at that, it was funny when she was younger she would have beamed at a comment like that.
"I won't, though to be honest I haven't been told that since I was a Surprise," Lin laughed, "But it's good. Everyone will enjoy it and hopefully Tinuviel most of all."
It had sort of bothered Lin that Tinuviel had been caught off guard when she asked what she wanted to do for fun.

Daeron chuckled softly. "At any rate, I think we'd best be heading to bed," he suggested, "since we're going to be leaving before first light tomorrow. And you especially will need your rest," he added pointedly, "since you're not used to what we'll be doing."
Riding nonstop from sunup to sundown ... and then to still have energy for a fight ... she was definitely in for an awakening.

Lin almost forgot about that, and nodded this was true they were going to be up early and she had never travelled before.
"Good point," she murmured, "I guess I better retire for the night then ."

"Perhaps we all should," Serenity put in, smiling warmly. "At least, those of us who will be going on the hunt. It's going to be a long trip, I'm told - and into moor cat country, no less."
Not that she minded. She had after all enjoyed the beauty of the swamp for several years.
Daeron rose from his seat and held one hand out to Lin to help her up as well. "Like an escort up to your room?" he grinned softly.

Lin blinked moor cat country? Even though she had a healthy set of wariness with moor cats. She had no idea that's where they were going.
"Hmm?" she looked up at Daeron before smiling and taking his hand.
She rose from her seat and decided she would think about it some other time. Besides they might not see one (and they would be better off not to).
"Thank you," she replied with a laugh.

Daeron's eyes turned confused, though he smiled back at Lin as he led her from the room.
"What are you laughing at?" he asked softly, obviously curious and confused. "I just offered to walk you upstairs ..."

"Would it bother you that for a moment it seemed like I was back with Earendil?" Lin inquired softly.
She smiled, the two were very much alike in some ways, only without the sort of family bitterness that was between Daeron and his father, but then again Lin mused. Daeron had been rescued by her brother and Elnara, they were the people he looked up to most. That falling out with his father no doubt didn't go over well.
"He would do the same thing, granted he's been doing that since we were both growing up, but still...."
