Mathias was finishing his meal when he heard Alex shout for his father. "Leon." Mathias used his shadow stride powers and appeared beside Leon. "Damnit Leon. ALEX, get back here now!" Mathias raised his hands and sent out a massive wave of shadows which devoured every soldier in the area. Looking around, he saw that the soldiers were all dead, dieing or in no capacity to fight. He looked down at Leon and shook his head. "This is gonna hurt, my friend." He placed his hands over the wound and created a shadow the length of the wound. "Alex, I need some of your blood, cut your hand and drip the blood over his wound."
Artemis raced over once he had finished his attacks and gasped at Leon's injury. "Oh no.." Artemis didn't know what to do so he just stood over Mathias's shoulder, watching him work.

Leon just nodded at Mathias saving his energy but thinking how mad Vix would be at him for being this foolish
Alex with tears in his eyes did what Mathias asked he made a cut just big enough for blood to come out and dripped it on his father's wound he was trusting mathias to save his father

Mathias lifted his hand and bit his own finger, dripping a couple drops as well. Rather than turning Leon to a vampire though, he was using the healing properties of his blood on the wound. Then Mathias started to repair the damage of the blade. As the vampiric healing happened, color began returning to Leon's face.
Artemis gasped when Mathias bit his hand. From legends, it was said that this was how a vampire turned a human. Artemis couldn't understand why Mathias was doing this though. But then he realized with terror that Mathias must be a vampire. Gasping, he quickly stepped back, afraid that Mathias was gonna bite him. "RUN ALEX, he's a vampire!"
Mathias glared and look at Artemis. "Yes, I'm a vampire. But I don't feed unless I feel like it. Besides, I already fed while I was attacking the guards. I control my thrist." Looking down at Leon, he could feel that the wound was almost completely healed and his blood was slowly regenerating. "Come on Leon, open those eyes. Open them for your family."
Artemis was still afraid, but he moved back, trusting that Mathias was being honest. But he held his staff at the ready to defend against the vampire.

Alex didn't run in fear from Mathias if his dad trusted Mathias so could he. He looked at Artemis and said "if my dad trusts him i think we can too Artemis" he said very calmly he watched his father closely
Leon opened his eyes slowly and looked at Mathias "how bad was it..." he said with a soft smile "think the girls will kill me if they hear about this huh?" he said refering to Vix and Engela "i owe you a big one"

Mathias laughed. "I think if they hear about it, then everything I just did is gonna be undone, Vix is gonna tear you a new one. Engela will be upset you got hurt, but since it was to help your son, she'd understand." Mathias helped Leon sit up. "Yea you do. If it had been any deeper, I would have HAD to turn you to a vampire. There was a lot of damage to your organs." Mathias stood up, breathing deep. "The rest of the camp is destroyed. We can leave now." Looking at Artemis, Mathias tilted his head and asked: "So, do you trust me?"
Artemis looked from Alex to Leon then to Mathias. He bowed his head and laid his staff at Mathias's feet. "Yes sir. I'm sorry I thought you were dangerous. Just..the stories that are told about vampires say they are monsters. I never knew you were one during the stories Mrs. Silverwolf told me. I humbly beg your forgiveness."
Mathias smiled and waved his hand. "No worries. I know my race's legends precede me. But I promise, I'm not a mindless killing machine. I have restraint."

Leon nodded "i think my fighting days are done at least for awhile your healings have always been great but they are slow and take time..hahaha i learned that lesson once before" he rememberd back to the old days "well Alex you did a great job lets head home"
Alex smiled greatly and said to mathias "thank you soo much" he smiled he really liked Mathias he hoped to visit his house one day
Leon looked at Artemis "well Artemis mathias says you've got real talent with your magic thats an honor you must be really really skilled"

Aura immediately dropped her magical guard and went to her brother's side. "Einon?" she asked, worried. "What's the--" She stopped and looked at her mother.
Engela had straightened. She was looking out at the horizon with a faraway stare. "Mom?" asked Aura tentatively. When Engela looked back at her, she breathed in sharply.
"I'll be back," Engela said flatly. Twisting a couple of the currents, she vanished, following the rush of magic that told her Mathias was doing something that required too much power to be normal.

Alexa waited by her window, wondering where Kirra was. She knew it wasn't the kindest thing to leave her mother here while the rest of her family was Gods-knew-where, but she had to face it - she was never going to have a better chance.

The girl giggled again and came off with the chain saw on. She came at him with it very fast and attempted to cut his side.

Einon held his chest. "I don't know what happened, sis." Watching his mother's reaction worried him even more. Before he could say anything his mother disappeared. "Somethings wrong. But mom said to stay, so we'll just have to stay."

Mathias was looking at Leon, concern on his face. "I had told you that I could have dealt with this on my own, Leon. You're getting slow in your years." Mathias laughed teasingly. He patted Alex's shoulder. "You're welcome. Now if anything happens, if your father claims his chest is hurting or feels queasy in sunlight or something, find some King'sfoil leaf and make him a tea and make him drink it. You should use about 6 leaves. I'm sure Vix has a supply of it from the last time I had to heal your dad." When Leon praised Artemis, Mathias nodded. "You are skilled, boy. Trust your powers and instincts and they'll serve you well." While Mathias was healing Leon he thought he had felt a sudden tug at his chest and for a split second he sensed his son. Realizing that if his beloved was near Einon, she'd have felt it also. And considering that she had told him she'd give him a lashing for using too much power too fast, he realized he was in for it too. "I think we'd best leave this place. I have a feeling that..."
((Stopping midsentence cause this is where Engela shows up, hehe))
Artemis smiled and filled with pride with both adults praising his skills. "Thank you both. I owe it all to my master of course. He taught me so much." Using his magic, he cleaned his robes of all the blood, smiling at the protective enchantments of the white robes that made them stain resistant.

Aura nodded, watching the place her mother had been with undue attention. She frowned up at the sky, and put a hand on her brother's shoulder. "Maybe we should go inside and wait for them there," she said quietly. Something in the air felt wrong.

Before Mathias could finish his sentence, there was a sudden rippling in the air. A moment later, Engela appeared, seeming to form out of thin air. She glanced from one man to the other and back, and raised a brow. She said nothing to Mathias. She didn't have to. She knew that he knew he was in trouble.
Then, with a little, vaguely amused sigh, she looked down at Leon and asked, "Running off to save the world yet again, I see. Does Vix know about this?"
Sometimes she actually had to wonder if it had really been twenty years. It seemed like none of them had changed much at all. Especially not Leon, who still ran into trouble without thinking first.

Einon nodded at his sister. "Yea, let's head inside." He got up, still rubbing his chest. He walked with his sister back to the house and inside.

Artemis gasped when space rippled and that girl just appeared. He raised his staff and readied an attack. Thought she just appeared out of nowhere, maybe he could suprise her and inflict enough damage for everyone to get away.
Mathias reached out with lightning speed and yanked the staff from Artemis's hand. "Don't do that. She's not a threat to you, boy. She's my wife." Mathias swallowed hard, looking down. "Hello my dear. I uh..didn't wanna worry you. We just...needed to....ummm quell a small uprising." He swallowed again, knowing that it didn't matter. What she did and what he did were totally different. She only concerned herself with things around their home. But he had gone much farther than their home.

((OOC: Engela would kill him for that thought. *laughs* It made her sound so much like the 'little woman'.))
"I'm sure," replied Engela, her voice clipped. "Next time, it would be better if you'd at least tell the children where you're going when you run off to play the hero. Einon and Aura were getting quite concerned." Then her annoyance wavered and she gave in to a little smile. She had difficulty staying angry with him for long.
Her gaze landed on Artemis, and softened slightly. She hadn't seen power like that since...Siobhan, really, although this boy's was much more trained. "Jumpy, lad?" she inquired.

Aura locked the doors once they were in, sealing it with a touch of shadow magic. Her parents would be able to undo it easily, but she wanted to feel secure. As she normally did in their home.
As she really, really didn't right now.

Artemis nodded a little. "Sorry m'lady. Just still in a bit of the offensive since the attacks on this camp. Nothing personal." He took his staff back from Mathias and moved beside Leon and Alex. "We heading home?"
Mathias smiled and moved over, kissing her cheek. "Thank you for understanding. You are so good to me." He then moved beside her and waved farewell to the other three. "It's been fun, I think. Remember what I told you Alex. And Artemis...I'm gonna keep my eye on you. You are most impressive." Turning to Engela, Mathias smiled again. "Home then, my dear? So you can show your true rage at me. I can sense it bottled up inside you, you're holding back." Holding her hand, he creates his own portal back home. "We'll get together when you're feeling better Leon. See you all around."

Engela gave the group an easy nod, then turned and went through the portal with Mathias. She made sure it was closed before turning to him. "They were getting ready to go on a recovery mission, Mathias," she said finally, explaining her anger more efficiently than she could in any other way. She didn't have to explain that she meant the children - who else would she be worried about? "If I hadn't come home when I did--" She shook her head. "You have to tell them if you're not going to be back. Aura was scared."
She wasn't sure if Einon had been as well, and that burned slightly. She still wasn't sure why her connection to her son was not as strong as the one she had with her daughter - they were twins, after all. Perhaps it really did have to do with the currents, the web of magic that her daughter used and her son - so far - did not.
Reaching out absently to the lock on the house door, she undid Aura's magic and unlocked the door, giving Mathias a pointed look - See? - as she did so. She couldn't remember the last time either Einon or Aura had felt the need to lock the door.

"I'm truely sorry, Engela. I didn't mean to cause you or them to worry. I just didn't think telling the kids I was going on an attack would be the best thing to do." Mathias said solemly. Then he smirked as she unlocked the house. "Wow, they were concerned." Mathias hung his head as he crossed the threshold into their home.
Einon was the first one up when he felt the lock being undone. He grabed his sword and summoned a shadow orb at his fingertips. As soon as the door opened he fired it. If it was his parents, they'd have no problem to counter or block it. If it was someone else, they'd be hit before they entered the house.
Mathias stepped infront of Engela and held his hand up, letting the attack hit his hand and spread throughout his body. "Well done my son, that was a very powerful attack. You're learning so quickly."
Einon dropped his sword and ran over to his dad, hugging him tight. "I missed you dad. Why did you leave? Where did you go? Couldn't you have taken us with you?"
Mathias hugged his son back. "I'm sorry Einon. I just didn't want anything happening to you. You have gotten so strong so fast, I'm worried you may have inherited more than just my shadow powers." Letting go of Einon, he turned and opened his arms for Aura.
