Maximus cocked his head, his gaze going distant as he considered. "I suppose that is true. Even the fairest and kindest people may aquire enemies, purely for the fact of their gentality." His eyes refocused and he smiled. "I still say you don't have to worry about making an enemy of me, at least."

Lorien smiled lightly. "Alright...well I'm content of that." She finished her soup before drinking up her water. "Although I must say...this ship is nice, but I still wish we could reach Rome. Then again, it's only been a day or so. It takes longer if you go by ship."

Maximus nodded. "I am eager to reach it too. We'll probably land tomorrow. After that, Rome will still be another day or so of travel." Licking his plate clean, he barked once to show their plates were done for a server to come over. "Well, that was better than I expected." He flipped his ears back a moment guiltily. "I wonder how much this is costing."

Lorien cocked her head to the side. "Well I can handle the cost part...I made sure that I was ready for this no matter what the cost." She lightly pushed her food to the side as well. "Although I do happen to wonder...will Rome be as you think it is?"

Maximus hung his head slightly. "All these bills going to my owner. I feel a little bad, but I must get to Rome." He frowned a little and shook his head. "That I do not know. I already feel that Rome hides things. I'm not even sure what I think about it, just that I should be there." He flicked his ears, the waitress coming and leaving, before he spoke again. "I really must thank you again for journeying with me. It's a long time for me to take you from your home to an unknown place."

Lorien cocked her head to the side. "Really?" She looked down. "I see...I can't help it but wonder what Rome is like." She shook her head. "Oh it's not a problem at all. I have nothing better to do with my time anyways. I just sit around in the woods anyways."

Maximus nodded understandingly. "Yes, neither can I." He looked at the placing now empty of his plate. He felt he had come from Rome... So why had he been taken from it?
He looked back up and smiled. "Still, there are some who would rather sit at home than go on a journey. The unkown can be very frightening to some."

Lorien tried to put on a smile for him. "Well...we'll never know what happens until we find out. At least we got the strength to try." She stared off into the distance for a bit. "Would you mind if I headed back to the room? I just want some time to lie down for a bit."

Maximus smiled gently. "Indeed we do. Perhaps we have more strength within ourselves than we give credit to." He cocked his head slightly before nodding. "You may rest if you wish. It has been a long day." Had he said something wrong? "I'll scout the ship a little more before joining you."

Lorien smiled. "Thanks...I'm sure that by tomorrow or a couple days we'll be there." She jumped down from the table. "Well...I'll see you later." She then headed off for her room. What was wrong with her? Why did she suddenly feel sad? She knew what she was probably beginning to feel, but she didn't want to mention it to him. Here she was putting up an innocent act all the time with a calm and relaxed aura. When would she get to express herself and when could she stop pretending to be calm all the time?

Maximus nodded. "I'll be seeing you in a bit then." He watched until Lorien had left the room, and sat a moment longer to think about their day. Unable to figure it out, he let it go for the time being. He got up, scouted the ship like he had said, figuring out where everything is, before heading back to the room to sleep.
(( You can either start them up on a new day or as they're pulling up to the docks. Whichever you like. ))

Lorien slept well. It was very nice and quiet with no noise to bug her. Once the morning came she woke up and stretched out. She then went to the bath to clean herself for the day. Lorien wanted a bath so she turned on the water and hopped in.
(Alright...I'm just going to have a new day begin and eventually have them at the docks.)

Waking to the sound of water running, Maximus had eyes instantly open, looking at his surroundings. When it seemed clear, he made a round of the room to double check. Satisfied, he stuck his ear to the restroom door. Lorien must be in there.
Turning back to the room, he headed to the small window and looked out at it's reserved view as he waited.

Lorien's ears flicked back and forth. She could tell Maximus was awake. She rinsed herself off before hopping out of the tub. She then shook herself clean before heading out only to catch a glimpse of Maximus looking out the window. She didn't say anything since she was in a dreaming state. I wonder what his past was like...he had to leave Rome for a good cause.

It took Maximus a moment to realize he was being watched, but when he came out of his thoughts, he turned and gave her his warm but reserved smile. "Did you enjoy your rest?"
