Ashierra clung tightly to Alek, claws digging desperatly for grip. But whatever she caught would break off. Preoccupied with falling, the back of her mind registered what Alek was doing for her. She yelled out as they fell further, burying her face into his neck.
Then a strange voice called. The falling stopped. Blinking, she looked around as they seemed to float back to the path. She caught the sight of a pretty green cattaur. Too breathless to speak, she continued holding onto Alek, peeking up at him. Should they follow?

Alek's eyes widened as he took a good gaze at the cattaur who had helped save their lives. "Ja-Jade?" He finally managed to sputter as he held onto Ashierra. Out of all things, why was she here? But he already had the answer, 'magic.' Only that annoying ability of Jade's could have led her to him despite all the miles of travel since he had last seen her.

A smirk as she nodded to Alek, confirming his thoughts. "Well come on, fire-boyo. There's a place were you and whoever that is can rest." Purred Jade as she gracefully moved down the path that wound down towards the scenary of a village.

Sighing Alek loosened his hold on Ashierra and settled for holding tightly to her hand, "Let's follow." He murmured before walking forward.

Jade? They knew each other? Shaking off her shock, she held tightly to Alek's hand. Her face flooded red as her head cleared. Had she really shown such weakness? Had Alek really done all that for her? ....Had she actually been more afraid for Alek's fall than her own risk she was in?
She hurried as the end of the pass neared, eager to be in the open. Where she had control over herself.

With everyone yelling, they were bound to draw attention. Running swiftly along the mountainside, a sleek green cattaur hurried to aid. She stopped quickly when she saw the trio. The two reds and another green. Looks like they're okay... What are they doing playing around that gap? Curious, she followed silently after them.

"I just don't understand it." Muttered Alek in a whisper as he gazed at the back of Jade's head. Really, what was she doing here? His tail twitched irritably as he tried to think of reasons. But he was soon distracted by the open fields that they were stepping into. Everything was alive with colors of spring and where flowers or crops weren't, the green blades of grass swayed in the wind.

The breeze whipped around Jade and her ears twitched in amusement as she caught onto Alek's confusion. "No worries, we'll be there soon, nya." She purred while looking beyond the other two cattaurs from the corner of her eye. Whoever was behind them didn't carry the scent of bandits so she choose to leave it be.

Alek nodded, yet he was still confused to their location. Usually he wouldn't mind walking into new places...but if Jade was there- He shook his head refusing to worry.

Suddenly realizing that he was still holding Ashierra's hand, Alek let go so he could rearrange his traveling bag. 'Hopefully I didn't lose anything.' He thought his hand absently running along the leather flap.

Ashierra sighed inwardly when they left the pass. The open field chased away the cramp from her stomach and the sweat from her skin. The phobic panic left and she closed her eyes, enjoying the breeze.
When Alek took his hand back, it suddenly felt like a mental block fell over. She tucked her hand close to her side, looking straight ahead onto the village. It looked quaint. She wondered how Jade and Alek knew each other and how both came to be here.
'Not that you care, right?' Her mind said scoldingly. So she stopped thinking.

Soon the first row of buildings came into view and Jade bounced happily along the path. "Alek! There's a nice tavern to the left, should we stop there?" She finally asked looking over her shoulder at him with a sudden direct gaze.

Alek slowly nodded before looking to Ashierra, "Is that fine with you?" He asked softly finally catching the hint of unease in Jade's gaze. Did that mean that something was up with this village or that there was something following them? "Keep your guard up, Ashy." He whispered softly, hoping the breeze wouldn't carry his voice.

Ashierra perked her ears. Again?! She was getting lightheaded after that sudden shock and a forced calming down that was way too quick to come.
"I don mind." She said lazily, observing down the main road through the village. "Think I'm just gonna sit for a few minutes..."

"Rest all you like." Replied Jade softly as she knocked on the tavern door. Soon it was opened and the owner, familiar with seeing Jade allowed them to quickly enter. "The first two rooms will suffice, nya?" She would lead them in, but planned to wander outside just as soon as the tired rested.

"Ye-yeah." Alek nodded and started to follow Jade inside before casting one more worried look towards Ashierra. "Are you really..." He paused and smiled warmly, "Okay, I mean?"

Ashierra's head turned slowly. At Alek's face, the slowness left instantly, though it fought with the dizziness of her balance. "I'm fine." She grumbled, remembering what had happened again. Weakness... She was supposed to be done with it. She marched in, tail straight out in a fight for balance, following Jade.
"Thank you, um, Jade. I appreciate the help back there, and here."

Loping down the mountainside, the cattaur's eyes narrowed, trying to see what was going on. They'd all gone inside. A good sign?

Jade nodded and cast a sly smile to Ashierra. "You're most welcome." Her throat hummed with an amused purr as she looked back at Alek's expression from Ashierra's reply. "I've promised to help certain cattaurs and any companions of theirs after all." Her hand tugged at the metal knob of a door and opened it to reveal a snug room with plenty of room for at least three taurs to sleep comfortably though only two sturdy mattresses of feathers laid on the floor.

Alek rolled his eyes and mentally told Ashierra how welcomed she was. 'I mean I just helped save your life is all.' He thought with a small sigh before looking back up into Jade's twinkling eyes. 'Damm how she seemingly knows it all!' His paws still shook, but he itched to move about and explore the town. "You two rest or whatever, I'm going to get supplies." He muttered leaving the room and heading outside into the crisp mountain side air.

In the room, Ashierra had gone to the window first and opened it wide. She wanted the fresh air. Hearing Alek, she looked back at the door, but he had left too quickly. She had actually wanted to talk to him. Disappointment in her eyes, she sat on a mattress, curling her paws close and putting her head into her hands to ward off the dizziness and something else that she couldn't quite put her finger on...
"I think I'll take a nap then." She muttered, not really talking to anyone. She laid out and closed her eyes. She floated around sleep, but it never really came.

Watching as Ashierra went to sleep, Jade smiled softly at the irony of Alek with a companion. 'Thinking about him...' Jade's eyes went over to the open window. Nodding, the female cattaur sat down and gazed outside down at the village. It was quite peaceful there with the wind playing with her hair as she peered down.

Alek walked quietly along the path of the village. His satchel for supplies hung heavy at his waist after bargaining with the local shopkeepers. Tail twitching Alek approached the tavern but halted before entering the building. 'I'll wait.' He decided before turning and starting to walk towards the village outskirts so he could take a better look at his surroundings.

Finally, she stopped trying. In her half dreams, Ashierra saw only Alek. Alek caressing her skin. Alek chasing the goat. Alek laughing. Alek falling. Alek's tender lips on hers. Suddenly, she saw those same lips on pale green skin.
Her tail twitched a little as she stared at the wall, chest tight. She could feel the other's presence behind her. Had felt it as she drifted. Jade... What was her story? She sat up slowly. It wouldn't matter if those two had a past, right?
Despite her reassurances and attempts at fighting it, it was continually getting harder and harder to submerge her feelings. "What are you here for?" She asked boldly, turning to look at the female before her.

She sat at the enterance to the village. She watched the male leave the building, then return. She cocked her head when he didn't go inside, instead turning toward her. Flicking her tail, she sat where she was and started playing with the dirt at her feet, not looking at him.

Jade blinked before glancing back at Ashierra. "What am I here for?" She quoted smirking a little before turning back to the window. "I am here because I am. Lucky for you and fire-boyo that I was." Her voice floated about the room like the wind, light yet sincere. "I travel as well, does there necessarily need to be a reason for me to wander?"

Walking Alek nearly passed the other cattaur, but suddenly he paused. "Hey." Alek looked directly at the green cattaur with a small smile, "Do you live here, miss?" Maybe she could talk to him about the place, it seemed peaceful enough yet still...

Ashierra listened as she smoothed her hair down. "No need to wander. It's just that you happened upon us when you did. And you are familiar to Alek." She turned her gaze back to Jade. "Coincidence is not common in my life. I find it hard to believe that this would be one of those times."

Looking up, Tuulitaika returned the small smile. "Not here. Around." Her gaze on Alek, her hand rose and pointed back to the mountain top. "I come from time to time, resupply on what ain't usually available this high in a mountain."
