"As you have mine," Serenity smiled back at him, lacing her fingers with his and squeezing his hand gently. "When all those girls at school talked about their boyfriends, and how it meant so much to them as a status symbol to have one, I thought they were mad. And I still think so. But it just made me think that I didn't ever need one, that I was fine the way I was ... But you ..."
She kissed his cheek and let her lips linger as she spoke again. "You caught me completely unawares and showed me what it really means to have a boyfriend. Not for a status symbol ... but because I truly care for you."

He smiles softly and he leaned his head gently in her direction as he felt her lips on his cheek. "I just wasn't looking for a girlfriend. I was so tied up with school, and work, and now Prince.. I just wasn't keeping my eyes open. But it's like you waltzed into my life, grabbed me by the sholders, shook me, and said 'Look at me! Love is right here within your reach!'." He smiles as he gently nuzzles his lips against her own cheek. "And I'm glad you did, because I truly care for you as well."

Serenity laughed and pressed her cheek against Gaunt's. That tickled!
"Well," she giggled, lifting her head slightly and hovering over him, "just make sure that I don't take you away from your studies too often ... I know how important that is. and if you ever need help with Prince - if you have exams or something - let me know, I'd be happy to have him stay with us for a while. Of course, if you get holidays, you're welcome, too."
Unless of course he wanted to go home to his parents, which she would completely understand.

He smiles warmly up at her as she hovered her head over his own. He tilted his head slightly and he darted his head up to kiss her nose. "Nnn. I will, don't worry." He chuckles softly, his hands sliding down to gently wiggle against her sides in a half-attempt at actually tickling her. "Mmmn. And I'll be looking to spend every spare moment I have with you, of course. It's just a matter of how many spare moments I get."

Serenity squealed and jerked into a ball, arms clamped over her sides to try to stop the tickling.
"I just hope you have more spare moments than less," she giggled, edging away slightly to escape his tickling fingers. "I don't want you to get behind in your studies."

He chuckles lightly as Serenity starts to writhe away from him. He slowly half-picked himself up, just leaning himself up on his elbows as he looks at her. He wasn't going to pursue her for tickling, then he'd just be mean and not a tease. "Mmn. I hope I have more free time too. But that's not up to me, is it? At least not completely."

"Well, if there's ever anything that you need," Serenity replied, relaxing slightly as she realized he wasn't going to keep tickling her, "don't ever hesitate to ask. I'm here for you, no matter what."
She lay down on her side then, facing him, her head propped up on her elbow. She reached her other hand forward, placing it on the ground between them.
"And since we have some free time right now," she murmured softly, mindful once again of the two boys who were fast asleep, "what shall we do to occupy ourselves?"

He nods and he smiles softly reaching out across the space between them to gently stroke her hair and he nods slowly. "I'll keep that in mind, Serenity. Expect an email from me if something ever comes up." He smiles as he strikes the same pose as her, resting on his elbow and facing her, his hand coming to rest next to hers. "Mmm. What do do.." He laughs softly and he shrugs. "I'm really at a loss. I've never considered what to do during a date because I don't really get to go on them."

Serenity giggled softly. "And I've never been on a date at all," she reminded him, "or even thought about it ..."
She bit her lower lip thoughtfully, then reached her hand a bit further and put it over his. "Can I paint your portrait?" she asked him hesitantly. "I ... I really would like to have a picture of you, and ... well ... painting is what I do best ..."
She blushed and lowered her eyes. She knew most people didn't like being painted, they didn't like sitting still, or whatever it was ...

Gaunt chuckles lightly and he nods slowly. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We're both pretty clueless then, when it comes to dating." That might be a good thing. They didn't have that many high expectations when they're just trying the water, so to speak.
He blinks, then he blushes lightly. "You'd like to paint me? S.. sure.. Just.. tell me how you want me to pose and I'll try my best.." He smiles warmly at her. It was touching to him that she wanted a picture of her very own to keep with her.

Serenity smiled warmly, pleased that he had agreed to let her paint him.
"Just ... whatever is most comfortable or most natural for you," she told him, sitting up. "I'm not fond of poses ... they're not natural, and when you look at them it's not a true image of the person. I want a picture of you, the real you. Not just a front."
She leaned forward and kissed his forehead, then hopped lightly to her feet. "You get ready while I get my paints ready," she told him happily. "I won't be long."
She hopped to the other side of the sleeping boys and picked up her bag, and began to rummage through it.

He laughs softly and decided to tease her, always enjoying an opening to make her blush. "Well, I don't know if I could do that, Serenity. It'll be hard for you to paint me while I'm kissing you." He shot a wink across the space that separated them, and he chuckles as he leans back on his hands, crossing his legs casually at the ankle as he looks, at a low angle, skyward. Seemed like a reasonably natural pose.

Serenity's entire face turned red, cheeks, ears, nose and all, and her movements became the slightest bit awkward as she continued to rifle through her bag. She couldn't think of a reply - his comment had caught her so off-guard!
It was an average sized canvas that she took out of her bag, about two feet wide and three feet tall, but when she saw the way Gaunt was laying she turned it on its side so that it would work better.
"I could always just remember and paint that part of it later," she murmured, more thinking aloud rather than as a comeback.

He laughs softly at her reaction and he grins at her. "Oh, can you now?" He returned to his former pose when she saw that she seemed about ready to start. "In that case, why aren't you in my lap and kissing me?" He kept his eyes out on the distance, though he could imagine her reaction. Imagine her being so bashful that she coudln't react to his teasing.

Serenity set her paints down and folded her hands in her lap, eyes lowered in embarrassment. She was doing her best not to laugh - though she was half tempted to go sit on him, just to spite him. She certainly couldn't paint now - not until she calmed down again.
"You said I could paint your picture," she reminded him, trying to keep her voice even (though she couldn't keep from giggling just slightly). "At this rate you're going to make me put it all away before I even get started."
