Jonathan nodded at the Lady's responce to his question, then went back to his mental check list. Or at least he would have, but communications was the last thing on his list. "Okay, i think we have about everything we need, now we just need to wait for the others to come back from the library.
For a second, he began to think that maybe he should go over to the library and gather intel himself.....just to make sure that what he was getting was accurate. He decided against it though, if these guys were to be saving the universe, as ridiculus as that sounded, they would need to be able to trust each other.

((Alright, here we go! MOVING ON!!!!))
Misha was very trusting. Jade made a face. The others could be lazy, and she hoped not. She also had library horror stories such as when her friend Yoko had gotten bitten by a freaking vampire in the library.
Later, after reading enough, Jade and Misha returned to the dining room. Everyone was ready, so the Lady had them all gather. The Lady smiled. "Remember you can only contact me by the portal."
The butler added, "Those two devices can be used to communicate to each other." He handed Jonathan the two devices, since the man had been the one to ask previously.
"New York coming right up," the Lady sighed as she closed her eyes and sighed. For a moment, she looked like she was in pain. But suddenly, a black portal of some kind shown behind the party, and the Lady opened her eyes, gasping slightly. "Good luck."
You couldn't see what was on the other side of the portal, but the destination was New York, and the portal would happen to lead to New York's American Museum of Natural History.
((Website for the museum is:http://www.amnh.org/ It is by Central Park, the biggest park in New York City, USA. (I think.) Edit: Let's assume Halloween is on a Saturday, and right now it is Friday, leaving a lot of room for people having Halloween parties.))

((and here's my excuse for a bump....a post))
Jonathan looked over the device that was handed to him by the buttler. He examined the device after muttering under his breath a thanks and, "I've never seen anything like this before." 'There's a single button on the side, i assume that's what we use to activate it.' The device was eliptical shaped and was simple to use. Jonathan tested the radio-like device. He pressed the button down and spoke into it. Sure enough his words were echoed by the device. It was almost as if his voice came directly from the speakers rather than his own mouth. 'Okay, they work. I guess we'll find out how durable they are once we start using them.'
Jonathan looked up from the device and looked to the portal that had appeared before them. He heard the panting coming from the Lady but didn't say anything about it.
After steping up and examing the portal, Jonathan pocketed one of the devices then offered up the other one for anyone else to hold. "Whoelse is going to keep one, it would be pointless if i kept both of them."

((And another bumpXP))
Jade wasn't interested in being in charge of holding a communicator. If she was Er, who was obsessed with gadgets, maybe she would, but she wasn't her brother. So, she waited for someone else to take it. "Someone just take it. We're losing time, right?"

(( *rises from dead* I'm awake, I'm awake! With there being so few of us, also, do folks want to take over any of the absent characters or make new ones? I don't feel a particular need or desire too, just wondering. Oh- and that language thing; will we just assume everyone can still understand Misha and vis versa while out and about on Earth? ))
The communication devices seemed small to Mishaweha, tiny compared to her larger, less digit-filled hands. But the small female one, Jade, seemed to not want to take one, so Mishaweha put behind her own reluctance and grabbed a device. She eyed it for a moment, and guessed how it would work. Conveniently, she was able to attach it to her belt for safe keeping. After all, it paid off to have ones hands free while in battle.
A quick glance around showed that her companions, for whatever reason, still had not entered the portal. Perhaps they feared what would be on the other side, as she did. Perhaps they did not want to go through it first, and were merely waiting for them all to be ready. The inky blackness reminded her of the same blackness that surrounded her when she first came here.
"From Thunder Bluff..." she thought, and a pained grimace washed over her face. The earthquakes, the damage, to her world, her home. And she was scared to walk through a magic portal? She would delay their saving the universe because she was afraid of the dark?
The Tauren drew herself up, took a quick moment to check her weapon and other equipment, and then turned and bowed before The Lady. She said no words to their benefactor; the gesture was common enough were Misha came from, showing her thanks and respect towards The Lady. And with that, Mishaweha purposefully strode through the portal.
---
Moments later, Mishaweha arrived in the place called New York. The journey through the inky black portal was not as long as the one The Lady had first used on them, though it was still a little disturbing to walk on and through nothingness to get to the other side. Misha shook off the uneasiness by taking a look around.
Of course, she nearly tripped when she did step away from the portal. It was placed on a set of stairs, some sort of white rock. It was a little harder to see, as it seemed to be sometime in the evening, still near sunset, judging by a faint glow on the horizon. There were torches out, though, magic ones that had steady light.
Minding her hooves, Mishaweha walked up a few stairs to get the lay of the land. The stairs lead to an impressive building (Misha stared at this structure, for only the far off Blood Elf city had anything similar to this building whatsoever), made of a similar white stone as the stairs were. Turning around, Misha saw that past the portal, the stairs lead down to some sort of road. People (for they were moving more or less like people would) were walking along on the sides of the path. She wasn't too sure what kind of creatures they were, as they seemed to come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. She continued to gawk at them, not paying attention to the others who would be coming out of the portal.

((XP Hehe. Funny typosXP. Ok, I opened up for characters apps. Moved NatakuS's characters into "Retired" because he hasn't posted.
Well, I guess they could just be late int getting to the portal, or they could meet in New York. ...or they could play as a character from New York in the area and know nothing about the universe and portals and all that.))

((I'm just glad this rp didn't completely die out......i doubt the others are going to post at this point, so it probably is a good idea to open up for more applications.))
After seeing the cow-like person enter the portal and disapear into it, he examined it a little more closely. "Okay..." He mumured to himself before steping into the portal. For a few seconds it was completely black, almost to the point where he couldn't even see his feet moving. After a few steps light flooded back into his eyes, just as it had when he was first brought to the Lady's domain.
He stoped just outside the portal to see where it was that he was at, then took a step down the stairs. he gave a sligh shiver before he started taking in all of the sights around him. "Hey um....." Jonathan struggled to think of the Tauren's name. What' you're name. Sorry but I don't think I've ever gotten it."

Ian the sand elf. Catching up...
As the group had split up to "educate" themselves on the customs of Earth, Ian had followed them to the library and found himself to be useless. Rows upon rows, reaching up to the ceiling of books, scrolls and tablets, none of which he could make any sense of. Words weren't exactly his strong point after all – Ian couldn't read. The history of his race was handed down through word of mouth. The translatory magic mearly shimmered in front of the words before doing nothing. However, the image books proved to be a better match to the reaserch of his kind. Flicking through a sizable pille of the books left him feeling a little woozy and sore from sitting still for so long. Seeing the rest moving back to the dining room Ian stood up, streached and followed them back.
There was a shimmering space of darkness in the middle of the room thanks to The Lady when Ian stepped into the room behind the rest of the group. Well. No better time to do this. Stepping into the portal after the other two Ian closed his eyes...
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
And stumbled down the great stone steps of the new world. Opening his eyes to look around, Ian found himself gaping at the sight. A city like no other that existed in his home planet. Walking back up the steps to where the rest would no doubt appear,he caught the last part of the question directed to the Taurean. Paying no attention to them he sat down on the next step up before trying to think about the pictures he had looked over.

Mishaweha stopped looking around at the people and pavement, and turned to face Jonathan. She was sure she had given her name before; perhaps he was not in the room when she had said it.
"Mishaweha," she answered after a pause. "You may call me Misha, if you wish. And what shall I call you?" To tell the truth, she only vaguely remembered everyone's names. Maybe that was the reason he had asked for hers, she thought, mollified.
Another had approached in that time, Ian, who seemed to take no notice of them and was also looking around at the scenery (at least, it looked that way to Misha).
It was a few moments more after her reply that something interrupted the travelers; a strong male voice shouted from one of the stone paths.
"Hey you, the museum's closed! No loitering!"
Mishaweha, who had not been paying attention to what was happening below them, turned and eyed the person who had spoke. He was human-like, wearing dark blue clothing with various buttons and badges. He had a companion in similar garb. Both wore helms and wielded small black maces. Unsure of his intent, she stayed where she was on the steps. The man called out again.
"There ain't any Halloween parties up there. You all come on down and keep moving; we don't want no vandalism here."
Ah, that was it, Mishaweha thought to herself. They were worried that she and her companions were lawbreakers or some kind. She glanced at both her companions, flicking her head towards the sidewalk, and carefully made her way down the steps. She walked slowly; she didn't want to scare those humans into using their maces.
(( Feel free to keep controlling those PoPo, folks. Also, in that 'moment' between Misha talking and the police showing up, feel free to insert your own conversations. ))

Jade followed the others through the portal. I wonder what this New York looks like? Is it new? When he arrived on the other side, she arrived just in time to hear the cop yell about loitering and vandalizing. Not being the smart one, she replied, "Uh, we're not here to vandalize anything..." And then she saw the cop himself, although she didn't know he was a cop. He did have some sort of badge on.
It was sort of chilly, and Jade wished she had put on a longer skirt. If anything, New York didn't look very "New." Jade didn't recognize any of the structures. They were so different from her own world.
