Dr Henry Pym Wally_West Essentially, the contests have been either my work or someone else in the guild putting in the effort to put the contest together. If you have ideas for new activities, put it out there for people to give feedback on. Start discussion threads. Communicate with the other members. If you put some effort in, you'll get feedback back from the guild. I'll throw some ideas to you Wally, but after what happened a few days ago I'm not sure if I want any more feed back from people in the guild. I am still a tiny bit upset, but I am trying to get over it. PYm I don't know what happened the other day, but when it comes to your ideas, there is one thing I'm learning the hard way as an artist that I think you should hold on to: ******** what other people say. even if it's a group project and it doesn't shoot through like you would like it to, don't get caught up in what people think. I used to do that with my drawings...I would obssess so much over the ideas of competition and acceptance that it actually held me back. Just do what you want, my friend, so long as it doesn't hurt others. and who knows? maybe people will actually come around to liking your stuff in the end... biggrin you got my support.

Wally_West Lex Joseph Luthor On the other hand, as far as bringing new people ionto the fold goes, I think the recent clean-out facilitates that fairly well, if you know of anyone to encouyrage to apply. Yeah, I cleaned out about 30 or so inactives. If the name's not in the guild, it's fair game. If you have a friend who wants to be Booster Gold, there is no Booster Gold here. That was difficult for a while, trying to find a good character that had not been used. I was considering Jericho Drumm out of protest.

Maybe it's just me. I always thought there was plenty of stuff to do in the guild. Hell I even host little parties and such in the Bistro from time to time to pick things up. No contests tho. I really wanted that Strip Poker tournament to succeed but folks kept no showing for their games.

Oh, hell xd If it weren't for the three mule limit, I could think of dozens of good characters . . . but I think I have odder tastes than most people.

I had some serious crap go down the past couple of months it caused me to miss both that and an art competition I really wanted to post in. Sometimes it feels that if I get one part of my life under control 3-4 more things go wrong. stressed But thats just my life in general right now. Hell I could be just off base because of what happened. You all do got to agree there is always things we can do to make this guild better.

No contests tho. I really wanted that Strip Poker tournament to succeed but folks kept no showing for their games. I think a lot of it is timing too. That and the fact that at times, I think we treat the guild a bit too democratically as opposed to maybe more like...a republic or monarchy. maybe something to consider. I mean, just as an example...when I founded/headed the anime/mystery science theatre 4000 club at my alma matter, their weren't many of us, but as a benevolent dictator, I made sure my friends all had fun and that the ball kept rolling, no matter what the circumstances. now I'm not saying it should be entirely up to wally, virgil and whoever else helps moderate/run the guild to do everything...but think about it. we're a guild of people who are essentially ubermench...alpha primes. if we want change, we should take a step forward and do something about it. my dad always said a complaint is two things... 1. the verbal acknowledgement of something that bothers us or we feel is degrading/inferior/ or hindering and 2. The action taken to rid ourselves of this problem. Now I don't have a pc at home...I haven't watched television since january...and I haven't bought a videogame or videogame councel since gba came out. But that being said, starting up my cartoon/game/movie loft might be a step in the right direction to help us improve the quality of a place we love so much. perhaps if we all take some initiative to actively reinvolve ourselves in the guild...we could probably make it better. even if what we do is just for pretentd. Like when Rita had her cybernetic enhancement shop. it was silly, but it lasted for a while and it was fun to see what rita would do with her own thread and having her in charge of it. maybe we could do something like that again. like the way jamie maddox has started his investigation thread. you know...some spice into the goulash is always good. So why don't we start living up to our roles for once? ...hey...that gives me an idea for a thread...!

I could try to come up with a dice game we could try to play. I've created Card Games and such for friends of mine.
Game Design is a hobby of mine.
