Ashvemn Proudly_Jewish Has anyone here seen Scary Movie 4? They make fun of Japanese in it in one part... I've seen it! (but they were actually making fun of the scene from the Grudge.) Were they? I haven't seen that movie (and I'd rather not; The Ring was enough to give me nightmares for years...).

I've seen the japanese version of the Grudge(AKA JU-ON)(it's a lot scarier than the American remake)

I hope I'm putting this in the right place... D:
Who likes Paranoia Agent? I do! Who loves the opening theme? Me! n_n
So, I need help. My friend gave me the DVDs to all the episodes for my birthday, and to my delight, they had some of the translations! I do have a problem, though... They don't translate the whole thing. There's also a part I'm unsure about. Even listening to that part in slo-mo still doesn't sound right. Please, if somebody would help me get the rest of the song, that would be great [since I've searched all over the Internet and couldn't find ANYTHING]!
What you need to have is Windows Media Player. Open it up, click on Guide, which is at the top. After that, you'll see a little search bar. Above that you'll see listed Home Music Movies Intertainment etc...
Click on music. Enter "Paranoia Agent" and click on the first result, which would be Mousou - Paranoia Agent Original Soundtrack - Yume no Shima Shinen Kounen.
This is what I have so far (Japanese will be in bold, the English translation will be below that):
Raa-eee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-eee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Sora ni migoto na kinoko no kumo A magnificent mushroom cloud in the sky Raa-eee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-eee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Komichi de e wo hamu kotori no gogo wa In the afternoon of birds pecking at food in an alley Komorebi no shiba nite wo furete Touching the grass under the sunlight streaming though the leaves Kimi to katarou I'll talk with you Hora ranchi no benchi no ue de Yume wa hana saku See, on the lunch bench A dream blossoms Nami no oto wo sono mune ni (This is what sounded odd. The lyrics just don't seem to fit with what's being said.) Carry the sound of the waves in your heart Yuustu wa shizumete Sink your blues Hashi wo asu ni nobashi Stretch a bridge to tomorrow Tsunami nado anzuru kotonaku Don't worry about tsunami
(At this time, during their opening theme, they skip to the ending, which is):
Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Sora ni migoto na kinoko no kumo A magnificent mushroom cloud in the sky Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Komichi de e wo hamu kotori no gogo The afternoon of birds pecking at food in an alley Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Ranchi no benchi de sodateta yume The dream I nurtured on the lunch bench Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Raa-ee-yaa Ra-ra-e-yo-ra Komo rebi no hi ni umareta gogo yo. The afternoon, born on the day of the sunlight streaming through the leaves.
So, help me please.

Proudly_Jewish If anyone here has any other reccommendations for websites/dictionaries/grammar books etc, please feel free to tell us about them in this thread. Genki is the one I use, and I think it's pretty cool, but it works better if you get a dictionary (I use Random House) and another kanji book (if you want to learn kanji quickly, there is kanji in Genki). Though, I learned hiragana and katakana from this amusing little booklet... Wish I could remember what it was called sweatdrop ! The website is: http://genki-online.com/ Like I said, though, it's really not good if all you want to do is learn symbols. It's really a grammar book, with some fun vocab. in it!

My favourite Japanese bands are Psycho le Cemu and An Cafe. I like ORIGA (although she is a Russian singer, who lives in Japan) her latest album was released last year(she did the opening themes to Ghost-in-the-shell[Stand alone complex])
