Well, at least he wasn't completely oblivious. Gwynna herself was an extremely light sleeper. "I'm doing well. And yourself?" Sensing the man's discomfort, she relented and gave him a bit more space, stepping aside so he didn't have to look directly into the sun.

He stood up and tucked his shirt into the back pocket of his pants. "I've been better...my head is aching a bit." He winced and sighed, not bothering to tell her that she was the cause of the blurred thoughts.

"Hmm," she said, noncommitally. "I was just on my way to the stream. Would a cup of hot tea fix your head?" Gwynna gave him her most charming smile, slipping far too easily into her former role. She'd have to be careful with this one. A few stray thoughts tickled at the back of her mind, but she quashed them. Her old life was behind her now.

"Mmm...yes...I think so" He smiled and nodded his head. "After that...would you maybe like to join me for a swim?" He rubbed his eyes and stretched, his muscles rippling beautifully.

"That sounds good. It is awfully warm today." Gwynna led the way to the stream, swinging her pail a bit. Once there, she kilted up her skirts, and waded into the cool water. "Ahhh, much better." She wiggled her toes for a minute before retrieving the bucket and scooping up some fresh water.

He stood back, arms folded across her chest, watching Gwynna with a smile on his face. She is quite beautiful...I would never have a chance...But I can hope.

Gwynna's sun-browned skin shone in the light... and she knew it. XD "Alright, I'm ready," she said, suddenly business-like. Stepping back to the bank, she brushed the water off her legs and put her skirts down demurely. "This way." Not bothering to look back, she set off briskly towards her campsite.
Once there, she set the bucket of water down and started up her banked campfire.

Veshengo followed behind her, grabbing a log and setting it on one end to use as a seat. His eyes continued to scan her, but he tried to make it as inconspicuous as possible. Deciding to make an effort, he began a conversation, "Do you make your own clothing? Or do you trade for them?"

Gwynna put the water on to boil. "Hm? Oh, I made my own skirts, but not the bodice or the scarves. The bodice is actually pretty old-- was my mother's, I believe. The scarves I usually buy when I've got a bit of coin." She nodded, rather relieved to have something inconsequential to talk about. Unless of course he asked how she earned her coin.. >.>

"Ah, well, the bodice looks lovely..." He nodded, "So, where have you traveled before arriving here? Were you with a Kumpania? Or did you travel on your own and try to make a living?" He stood up and moved his log closer to the fire, then sat back down.

"I was travelling alone. My family is from around here, but.. It's a bit hard to be around them right now." Gwynna flushed. It was bound to come out anyway. "I suppose I've been alone too long... which is why I wanted to join this group." She shrugged and poured some of the hot tea into a thermos. "Here. Nothing fancier than this, I'm afraid." She sat back with her own thermos, sipping carefully, watching Veshengo over the rim.

"Ah..." He took a slow sip and then lowered the thermos, "Well, as I said back when we first met, there is no better Kumpania to join then that of Valelldia and the others. They're wonderful women...very strong and wise." He nodded, wondering if he should mention the Fortunettes or not.

Gwynna smiled. "That's what I've heard. I've missed female companionship, as well." Her smile wavered slightly and her voice trailed off. ".. How's the tea?" she asked lamely.

"The tea is nice...definately calming..."He slowly finished up the tea and put down the thermos, "If you want, I could introduce you to Valelldia...speak with her about you joining the caravan"

"Would you really?" The relief and gratitude was clear in her voice. "That would be very nice of you, Veshengo." Gwynna smiled and put away her thermos.
