Eirwyn Messy! xp And imagine all that Dalek DNA getting back to civilized space for some idiot to mess with. mad Hmm, I hadn't thought of that . . . This can only mean . . . SEQUEL TIME! (but not for a while yet. Maybe I'll wait until 2010, and then we can kick this party up to an 11?) Meantime, got a question before I start Part 3: River's from the 51st Century. At what point in the timeline does the Face of Boe start showing up? 'Cause I'd like to have Captain Jack in the epilogue, but not as a floating head mrgreen

The first actual appearances were in those stories set way up in the vicinity of 5 million, I believe. However, when was the news bulletin about FoB being preggers?

That was during "The Long Game," but I don't know when that was, timeline-wise. That's all I remember for now!

Hi,Willow! Glad to see you're still following this! So, anyone got a date for "The Long Game," 'cause I'm too busy to whip out the DVD mrgreen But was there a picture to go with that announcement? 'Cause they used to call him that back in the day--maybe he was pregnant BEFORE all this other stuff happened. I'd belive pretty much anything of him! rofl rofl rofl

Wikipedia The Doctor, Rose and new companion Adam travel forward in time to the year 200,000 and land aboard Satellite 5, a space station orbiting Earth during what should be the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire, but the Doctor immediately recognizes that the activity aboard the station is not consistent with future history. Y'know, that whole "molding the Humans into sheep" operation had to have been going on for quite some time, to have eradicated an entire empire from history. Maybe some DNA DID get away.....

Tis a lovely story except that in the beginning, River seems to spend a lot of time on his cuteness rather than the rest of him, and they're already basically shagging after the first date... .______.;;

I think that's because ThPriestess is writing this in the style of a harlequin -type romance novel. I haven't actually read any (except to howl with laughter at the cover blurbs), but no doubt someone else can confirm or deny this.

T3h Phantom LORD Tis a lovely story except that in the beginning, River seems to spend a lot of time on his cuteness rather than the rest of him, and they're already basically shagging after the first date... .______.;; Yeah, this did start out, as Eirwyn said, as a "trashy romance novel" rofl . It wasn't even supposed to have "a plot", but those pesky Daleks showed up one morning while I was in the shower (for the love of all that's holy, don't visualize!!! burning_eyes ) and crawled right into the story. Yeah, the Doctor and River shag on the first date, which is definitely something I have NO experience with *distant sound of Eirwyn laughing in agreement*, and it may or may not "work" with the characters. Might have to revise some (not to keep them out of bed, but to make it more believable . . . wink ). I was trying to go for the 51st Century "Hey, you're attractive, let's get it on!" attitude that Captain Jack displayed for River. This is so far from my own personality/belief system that it may have fallen flat. As far as the Doctor's motivation goes, I imagine he's been alone for a while at this point, very lonely, very angsty--when I started, I had no idea how season 4 would end, but I knew it wouldn't end well for him. I suspect he may have actually been trying to avoid River, because it's rather awkward to think you may end up in a very intimate relationship solely on account of a temporal paradox. Now he's finally met her in the correct time, though, and realized that she really is someone who could understand him, I figure he's thinking "Hey, we're destined to be together, why waste time?" Besides, he gets to see her out of the space suit for the first time and see what a sweet figure she has . . . heart heart heart

And now, the beginning of the epilogue: Artifacts Part Three
River Song took a moment to admire the earrings lying in her hand before putting them on. Pure gold and almost as fragile as tissue, they formed cascades of tiny flowers and birds. Fifth-Century Byzantine, he’d said. She didn’t doubt it. She wondered if they shouldn’t be on display in a museum somewhere. Not that she’d ever give them up. Maybe I’ll leave them to the University in my will, she though as she put them on. Just as she stepped back from the vanity mirror, a sound from the living room caught her ear: a late 20th Century show tune. Her heartbeat quickened, and she felt her face breaking into a silly schoolgirl grin in spite of herself. “Can you feel the love tonight . . .” she hummed along as she went into the living room. Looking around for the tenth time that evening, she saw everything was in its place. She fidgeted with the stack of papers and datapads resting on the catchall table by the door. “Wouldn’t do to forget my speech . . .Let’s see, ten minutes to walk across campus from the dell, and then . . .” She tried to catch her breath. I shouldn’t have dressed yet, should have stayed in my robe . . . But the opening’s in less than an hour, there isn’t time . . . Well, there’s always time, but no, tonight’s important. She laughed out loud at herself, and returned to the bedroom for a last dab of lipstick and some perfume. “Look at you,” she said to her reflection in the mirror. “Nervous as a sorority pledge. Happens every time . . .” She went back into the living room, switched off the music, and stood in front of the door. She had it open before the first chime of the doorbell had finished. “Darling!” she cried. “Oh, my, look at you! A tuxedo! You are utterly perfect! My beautiful . . .” She pulled the Doctor into her apartment and kissed him.

Eirwyn I think they are about to be fashionably late. lol I planned for them to get to the galery early, to look over the exhibit before the crowds, but they preferred Eirwyn's suggestion . . . “I brought you something,” he said when their lips parted. He held up a small box containing a multi-petalled blossom floating in water. “It’s a Janusian water-lily. It’s slightly empathic–changes color according to the moods of the people around it. As River watched, the petals flushed from a pale pink to a deep reddish-purple. “What does that color mean?” she asked. “It, um, means, ah . . . that we’re probably going to be late.” “That’s what I thought.” heart heart heart River rolled over onto her stomach on the bed, to get a better look at the clock on her bedside table. “Uh-oh, the gallery officially opened ten minutes ago.” “Do we really have to go?” “I do. I’m supposed to be giving a speech in five minutes. You can stay here and do whatever you like.” “Not without you I can’t,” the Doctor pouted. He raised himself onto one elbow. “River, oh, my, you actually did it! You got the tattoo!” “Yes, of course I did,” said River, climbing reluctantly from the bed and looking for her clothes. “You haven’t seen it yet?” “I haven’t seen you since the Lupine returned from Ghehenna . . . Are you saying I’ve been here since?” River chuckled softly, retrieving her stockings from the corner of the bed. “Now, you know you can’t ask me things like that . . .” “Well, it’s good to know I haven’t wasted any time . . .” “If by wasting time you mean wasting any opportunity to show up here unannounced, eat my food, sleep in my bed, and generally throw my life into disarray, then no, you haven’t.” The Doctor’s face fell. “Have I been making a nuisance of myself?” “A nuisance?” River laughed. “Farthest thing from it. Loveliest thing in the world, to come home, walk in, and see your overcoat on the hat rack and your sock-feet hanging off the end of the sofa.” “You let me put my feet on your sofa?” “I let you put anything anywhere, darling. How could I stop you?” She picked his clothes up off the floor and pitched them at his head. “Hurry and get dressed. I’m leaving.”
