The Phantom item 666 I got a good one. On the last day of School last year i brought in the 2004 version for us to watch and during the overture this chick says, "Isnt this a musical or something?" Thats nothing, I brought it in for music and french (my french teach is a huge phan...yes phan) and people kept asking me questions. "whos that?" "Why is it in b/w?" and the worst one "Can I borrow it?" (and I hated the chick that asked me) They were all questions that would be answered if they shut up and watched it!!! Drove me insane!!!!!!!!!!!

i wish my french teacher was a Phan. my art teacher read it though and we talked about how raouls such a wussy in the book, but she's not a phan. just a fan.

Painted_Black Why should he die? He didn't ruin Erik, he did in his mind what was right. In modern terms, Christine and Raoul were 'going out' and some stalker that Raoul didn't know seemed to have some possesion over the woman he loved. He did what he thought was right. You should try to see through Raoul's perspective instead of blantantly putting him down. In fact, Raoul was in love with a woman way out of his social rank. There;s no doubt that Christine would have been shunned in the eyes of the aristocrats, and Raoul would be looked at as if he had married a prostitute. Opera singers did not have a very high status in society no matter what the movie tried to play them off to be. yes, in the book his brother trys to stop there relationship, isn't it wonderful Erik killed Raouls brother? he had it coming.

Philippe drowned in the lake before he even got there. B) Why should Philippe 'have it coming'? He was just doing what he thought was right. He thought Raoul just had a little crush on her and he was throwing his life, and their family's social status, away marrying an opera wench who probably just wanted him for his money. Here's another one that annoys me... Really obvious questions like, 'Why does he wear a mask? Is he ugly or something?' or 'Are the lyrics in PONR supposed to be about sex?' Also, people who think you're weird/crazy for being all obsessive about POTO.

I have to agree with just about everything on here very annoying stuff. >< I also find the Raouls that are whinny crybabies rather annoying and that so many people find Erik unattractive/ugly with out his mask on. I love Erik's soul because he's actually a kind caring person(though he may not always show it) and cause I can relate to him with the being teased and shunned stuff cause I was too.

Phantom Phan 4ever Ok, I'm gonna list afew things I hate and you answer which one you hate on the poll. 1. 'Fans' (not true Phans) who see the 2004 movie and say: "He's so hot, only if he keeps the mask on" 2. 'Fans' that spell his name with a 'c' (Eric) 3. People that say he can't sing. 4. People that are repulsed by his 'deformity' (Which is really a sunburn) 5. People that ask: "Is there a book?" 6. Raoul is so much better than Erik (Mindless Soul) Sorry, thats all I got...for now. Please vote. And keep this board alive!!!! I can NOT add any to the poll after 5 so just say if you choose after #5 say so in your post...but vote for your econd choice in the poll. personally, i've only seen the movie, BUT i do i fell in love with everything about it, my friend has the book and i'm going to read it (as soon as she remembers) but for now, all i have is the 2004 movie, and when i get a chance, i'm going to watch the older movie as well but...if i ever heard someone say that raoul is better than erik. i would kill them...and if they told me that he couldn't sing...well i'll leave it at that i also hate when people watch it with me, and critize every single thing they don't like...including the singing, i mean it's called phantom of the opera, it says in the description it's a musical, like why would you watch it if you don't like musicals??? ok rant over..

I hate when people are so uptight about the movie. IT'S NOT AN OPERA! The singing in the movie isn't as good as the others, but I still love it. A lot of what they say is bad has mostly to do with their opinions. Oh yes, and and all of the above too. 3nodding . 1)The Phantom is not supposed to be hot! whee . Oh well. I didn't think he was until someone pointed it out. sweatdrop (someone online called me a lesbien for thinking he wasn't). 2) My friend spells it with a c. It's not the worst thing, but it does bother me. 3) I thought he sang well! It's an OPINION thing!4) How can anyone be repulsed by that? Sometimes it was pretty bad, but most of the time it looked like his head was in a microwave or something. On stage it's worse, but much less realistic looking, I think that's why they made it look like that in the movie(coud've made it WORSE though!) 5) I learned about the book as soon as I look up Phantom online, people who don't know about it probably aren't phans then. 6) You're not supposed to think Raoul is better! I don't HATE him, I definatley love the Phantom more. heart
